  • Table of contents and indexes appears in live Webhelp

I work in a HR 10 draft updated from RH 9 project. During the generation of Webhelp, local output displays fine, but once compiled and download our online application, the table of contents and Index are not displayed - what I mean is that the tabs exist, you can click on them, but they are empty. Research works, as well as the header logo does not appear, although it is in the images folder that is downloaded.

    More details:

    • I view the project in an external file in the root folder of the project. To clarify, the project is in a folder named "Help", and the output is in a separate folder named '9.1 help' to the same level of the help file. When I provided the output, I only provide the folder «9.1 help» Could it be the cause of the problem?
    • After reviewing similar issues, I find that the HCC project file does not exist in my .hhk file, nor the .glo, exit, etc. I suspect that this could be the problem. However, insofar as I understand it, it is not possible for the final .htm file for the project in the same folder that contains these output files. You must publish in a different output outside the root path folder.
    • I tried to change the default table of contents and the Index under Webhelp settings > Categories > content of default in the table of contents specific to my project (this is the only table of contents and Index, so it shouldn't cause mistaked, but I don't know if this change means something).

I would be happy to provide any other details if necessary.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Just a parenthesis. The mark of the Web option will only apply when view you the contents of your local hard disk and that you use Microsoft Internet Explorer as browser. If you download this content to a server, the option may as well not exist. So it won't matter if it is enabled or not and would have no impact on this situation.

Change the option of DHTML shouldn't really affect it either.

@Colum - package_xx.html files are certainly part of the production of RoboHelp. After you generate WebHelp, you should see them in the whxdata folder.

I think we've established that files display fine immediately after generating it, no? So, which suggests that the issue is entirely in the hands of perforce and that the development team. (or, more accurately, NOT to do)

    Any help is appreciated

  • are consecutively numbered table of contents and headlines

    Hello Adobe community.

I have two questions about RoboHelp HTML (RoboHelp 9).

    1st issue)

It is possible titles are numbered consecutively as in this example (a lower heading level always has the number on the upper level in front of it.):

    1. Title ABC
    2. Headline DEF

    2.1 title YES

    2.2 title POI

    2.2.1 title ZUI

    3. the title XYZ

The example is as a numbering system is possible in microsoft word.

And the important thing is that the titles are linked to another in a way that fade "2. Headline DEF"2.1, 2.2, 2.2.1 becomes 1.1, 1.2, 1.2.1.

    2nd question)

Is it possible, the table of contents consecutively regardless of the books, pages and bookmarks of numbering?

    Example:

    1. Book 1

    1.1 page 1

    1.2 page 2

    1.2.1 Bookmarked_Headline 1

    1.2.2 Bookmarked_Headline 2

    1.3 page 3

    1.4 Bookmarked_Headline 3

The numbers that are used in the table of contents must be the same as titles on the pages there.

I hope you understand my English and can help me.

    Kind regards

    Denis

What you use in the topics is a multilevel list. See my site for more information on the use of lists.

They may not apply to the content of the table of contents, and now there's a way around what I know, other than manually numbering the books and topics.

Many people move away from the numbering otherwise than in specialized areas.

  • problems with the table of contents and index

I do the localization for the Japan, so I'm all nice and good in Japanese (themes, table of contents and index), however, after compilation, only the TOC and India are in a font that does not support Japanese characters.
Does anyone have any ideas how to solve this problem?
    Thank you

Thank you Pete, it's part of the solution.
In fact, what I discovered on a German forum for RoboHelp, is to set the machine to the locale for the country, and the location is made. I installed the language support pack before my problem and so I was able I was translating into topics. The problem appeared when I tried my first compilation. The subjects were still in Japanese, that I translated, but the table of contents and the index and were the only ones who wrote in a totally unknown style (not Japanese English and not another language, I know).
Now that I've changed the location of my system, it works.
So, I think that this should be a first improvement for RoboHelp, right? They boast that they support 35 languages, however the support isn't quite... finish, huh?
Furthermore, the error message continues to come even after all these changes, but I don't like too much about this, I get what I need.
Thanks again Pete for the solution and the quick response.

  • Table of contents and PDF bookmarks

    InDesign CC October 2015

    Windows 8.1

I have created a table of contents, all styles, it seems good. The next step is to have the bookmarks actually export to a PDF file.

I chose the option "create PDF bookmarks"; all created bookmarks in the Bookmarks panel. Very well. However, when I create a PDF of the table of contents or the full book, no bookmarks appear.

    What Miss me?

The part that I missed was that I unchecked the option 'hyperlink '. When the "Bookmarks" option is selected, "Hyperlinks" is also. I did not all hyperlinks in my book so I disabled it. Bad plan.

After you have enabled the 'Bookmarks' and 'Links', selection of bookmark in the document PDF now brings me to the referenced page.

  • in the Table of contents, my photos are not displayed, can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

I am writing an iBook on a Mac Book Pro of the retina, and when I go to see the table of contents it shows no picture... so I do something wrong, or not do something, everyone knows what this might be? Here you have a Table of contents on iBook author image. It is said that there are 5 chapters and Chapter 3 marking and it should show the main image of this chapter and down a row of thumbnails of all pages of this chapter. Nothing shows... I'd appreciate any info to solve this problem. Thank you.

    Quack quack.

the thumbnails do not appear when you look at the table of contents to the author of the ib.  You must create the .ibooks file, do a preview for mac, and open it with the ibooks software and you will see knock thumbnails view or put your book on a iPad and if switch you to the comparable iPad display, thumbnails will be visible there.

In addition, you must file an image file in the placeholder, which will be visible on each index type toc page, yes a picture shown throughout the book.

good luck with your book and I hope you sell 1 million copies.

  • Is it possible to implement the sequences to browse to project with several tables of contents and conditionalized modules

I use RoboHelp 9 with WebHelp output.

I have five outings, which one contains help for common functions, while the other four contain help for modules under license. When a user opens a module under license assistance, the user sees the soul help and authorized assistance. In addition, the files are conditionalized so that the unauthorized search a help licensed module brings nothing.

I have been solving problems with the previous topic and the next topic which, thanks William, I learned are associated with browse sequences. After having tried various configurations, I have a few questions:

    • HR support a sequence to travel alone in a project, even when the project has several outputs & fakes?
    • If HR supports a sequence to browse only, does that mean that there is no way to create a unique navigation for each separate output sequence?
    • If HR supports several sequences of travel, which is the workflow?

I also maintain a table of 'master' contents which contains all the modules, frequent and without a license. What I've done for now is to autocreate a browse sequence based on the table of contents "master." When I generate the output of a module under license, which is conditionalized, I only see the table of contents for this module and, therefore, can only travel between books and subbooks for this add-on. I also checked that the subjects that do not appear in the module conditionalized as for another module licensed, do not appear in the list of search results either.

    Me again, Carol

You also questions about the functional differences between WebHelp and WebHelp Pro, so let me explain.

I know only two major differences other than (the additional benefits of analytical feedback reports) and the management of 'Zones' with authentication in RoboHelp Server.

    1. The behavior of browse sequences as explained above
    2. The fact that the categories of content are not supported in WebHelp Pro for this latest version 9.

In regards to sequences to browse you try to anticipate the various modules (licensed, etc.): multiple browse sequences are included in an single . File BRS. Sequences are defined in the XML code in the single file.

As a solution (for WebHelp and WebHelp Pro), you could create a Help.brs of the NPM. that you have already created a module; then backup and archive. Then create a change for the different module before generating again. The Help.brs of the NPM. will need to have the same name as your project, so you will have to manage the .brs desired file in the project folder when you build this version. All your other choices (table of contents, Index, conditional tags, etc) remains the same for the respective modules.

Finally, I notice that you generate apparently WebHelp Pro right now even if you are not published on the server of HR? This is really not the best practice. You must generate WebHelp plain for a web server that has no HR server on it (even if you can be getting away with it). Regarding your concern about "breaking" something; each output is placed in another! SSL! folder automatically when you build, so you should be able to generate WebHelp without interfering with the release of WebHelp Pro. Then, you can republish on the HR using WebHelp Pro Server, whenever the server is ready.

  • Table of contents and tabs

    Two Questions.

Q1. -I'm creating an index and uses a table of contents rather than creating a real index as it would always base don what I know.

    What I have

    Just the best support 2,.

    Just the best support 33

    Just the best support 34

If possible, I'd like to get it so its like that.

    Just the best support 2, 33, 34

Q2. -Is it possible so when the page number do not correspond to the bosom of the space of columns which extends the leader.

for example: this is what I currently have

    Just the best support 2, 13, 30, 33,.

    34

    That's what I want

    Just better care ... 2, 13, 30, 33,

    ............................................ 34

I do not know "what you heard" on indexing, but I used the script Index Brutal: http://marcautret.free.fr/geek/indd/indexbrut/en.php to generate an index of a text file after a doc was finished, and it was quick and easy.

You can also make the OCD thing, and as Mike says you can use GREP to remove and consolidate additional entries. I wrote an article for InDesign Magazine about the use of a table of contents to make an index for advertisers, and in the context of this article, I described the withdrawal method and consolidate duplicates and included a script to automate the process. It's in the latest issue (June/July).

You will also find it discussed in detail at http://forums.adobe.com/message/1918310#1918310. The code for research and script are in post #25

  • Bars, tables of contents and ramifications

I create my first module branching Captivate 8 and I have a few questions...

    1. Is it possible to have separate tables of contents for each branch?
    2. Is there a way to disable the reading and TOC bar on some pages only?

    Thanks in advance.

    Michael

If you want a separate table of contents, you will need to create it yourself, which is not possible with the normal TOC of Captivate. You can hide slides in the TOC, you can group slides and even build on several levels, but that's all.

Yes, you can lock the table of contents, there is already a variable system that you think still has the command Lock table of contents in the list. It is not possible to lock or disable the PlayBar, you can hide it on some slides. Use the event to enter the slide, both for the blocking of OCD or hide PlayBar... You can also hide the table of contents if you want, but this is only possible if the table of contents are overlaid.

  • removal of table of contents and the interface on dps app

    Hello

my project is to make an application using the digital publishing suite,

When each page is a sequence of jpeg auto playing and loops ,

keeps looping until striking to swipe to the next page and so on.

I don't want to have to the table of contents or interface options.

I want it to look in a digital book when the only option is to turn the page back.

    don't you think it's possible?

    thanx

Yes, there is a solution that will allow you to avoid show nav bars. You create a slideshow full invisible screen on all pages that are selected by scanning and tap. In this way, when the user clicks anywhere on the page, it interacts with the slide show but seems to have no effect on the user. You must add on the top of the slide show navigation buttons so that users can access other items.

  • Table of contents and Navigation to articles

So far, all applications that I realized was a single Indesign document.

I used buttons on the table of contents to access individual pages.

Upong review options button but I noticed that it is a few pages, there is no section break.

So if I set up my next app to have a cover article, table of contents section and then a few items of content, how do I get a button on the jump of toc in section 3 and then on this article which would take you to a return to the table of contents button?

Use the navto: / / format to switch between items. Learn about it here:

  • Images lost in conversion to Word 2007 in PDF file

I have a Word 2007 (docx) document, with inserted JPGs.  If the images text wrapping is on something else that "in line with text", the images do not appear in the PDF file created from the docx.  I have tried many different combinations of Acrobat preferences (or disable image compression standard vs high quality printing different ppp parameters etc.).  This seems to be a new problem, I have converted several Word docx with images in PDF format in the past.  A document that I converted to PDF a year ago is no longer converts correctly!   I'm running Windows 7 Pro and using Acrobat X Pro.   Office 2007 SP3 (and I suspect this is the problem).  Another person had the problem and, if so, found a fix?

    Hi, Bill.

I solved the problem, which was misleading lines.  Somehow, Word Options--> display, print drawings created in Word has checked.  Now the pictures come out fine.   The misleading part is that images inserted from the files would be included in the PDF file if it was wrapped text as inline!

    Thanks for your time

  • Conversion of Word 2007 in PDF documents

I use Word 2007 & Acrobat 9 Pro.  I'm trying to convert a Chinese document in a PDF file in Word 2007.  After the conversion, many Chinese characters are missing and replaced by an empty box.  Why?  What can I do to fix this.  Printing Adobe capture all Chinese characters, but does not take into account the lower border.  Help!

    Thanks Bill...

The issued proved that do formatting and inserting images in the Word 2007 document, the police changed SIM (Asian) Sun to Times New Roman.  However, the screen was not otherwise like, and I did not notice the change.  (Microsoft, please explain this phenomonem!) Change the font to the SIM Sun that was already installed in Word 2007 solved the problem.

  • DB file sequential reads on the table scan complete and LRU (new)

I would like to add a question on the subject

scan of full table and LRU

According to MOS doc ument 1457693.1

«.. signs diluvium readings of the caching blocks can be divided into a number of small multiblock and self-contained bed. »

The question is if sequential readings of db file submitted by a FULL SCAN operation will be cached on LRU or MRU list?

I'm afraid the flushes of heat/floods the buffer cache with a lot of FULL SCAN db file sequential reads.

For which direct path series reason readings will be inapplicable, so using this new feature of 11g is out of scope for this question.

    Thank you for your interest,

    Rainer Stenzel

There are a few different patterns of behavior depends on the size of the table (relative to the size of the buffer cache), but the key question is probably "readings will increment the counter of touch" - because if they are not the blocks will fall the LRU list fairly quickly, if they do then the blocks could (after a few tablescans) eventually be promoted in half hot from the cache.

I did some quick tests (that requires a little care in the Installer) which suggest the number touch was not incremented has therefore not had any effect on the question of if the block would get preferential treatment when they have reached the end of the LRU.

I'm a little puzzled by your expression: "cached on LRU or MRU list" - it's not two different lists; but people talk about "the end of the MRU of the LRU list.
