  I have a small intro in Flash SWF, I prepared and handed over to a friend who is being implemented in my intro animation in a website in HTML...

  The problem is that once the SWF (intro) has done, there is a short interval (blank white page) before loading the real HTML site.

  Is there a way to get around this?  Do I need my side code (AS3) or is it a problem for my boyfriend HTML/javascript to understand... or both.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  If you don't see anything cause your Flash file to wait awhile after, it's done before, then you should have your html/javascript buddy look first to see if it's just the html page needs a little time to load it is happy.

  When you convert a word document to PDF on my laptop, it will not save in PDF but it will convert to Firefox .html.

  If you want to convert a .doc to .pdf file, you must download the Foxit reader.

  After download the Foxit reader just right click on the .doc file and choose convert to PDF in Foxit reader.

• HTML conversion to PDF (how to change or remove the automatic header/footer)?

  I'll start with the positive. Function "Convert to Adobe PDF format" Adobe works wonders for HTML to PDF. In fact, even with all the embedded HTML 5 CSS, conversion perfectly renders the HTML code! I'm so impressed!

  

  But I have a little problem I just solve.

  Adobe automatically inserts a header and a footer. The header is not really a problem, but it would be nice to customize. This is the footer that really needs to change. The automatic footer is an unsightly long text that includes the path and the full name and data and the time of the conversion. Is it possible to customize and simply remove it when converting. It is a document of page 41, so I will not manually change the header and footer. Ideally, I would like Adobe to change the header/footer when converting... because I have to eventually automate the conversion and avoid any post-editing.

  I started a project using html 5, but I want to convert it to AS3, how I do this? I know as3.0 html is in order, but the other way around is the trickiest part I find.

  So thanks to a few other users on this forum, I understand how to resize my content to shape tween without breaking the Bank.

  Also, I came across a way to center the flash on the scene objects. I use the "edit multiple images" button in the timeline, and then select all and reposition.

  It's pretty easy.

  However, when I do a preview publish and zoom in and zoom out (by command-/ +, on my Mac)... something doesn't seem quite right. My content do not stay in the Center and become more small, like most of the other sites, but rather it shrinks to the upper left corner. When I resize my window in fact, content does not meet the size of the screen and the Center itself, but instead gets cut! What I am doing wrong? Also miss me a scroll bar on the page!

  Zoom is a moving target. Browser engines to implement in different ways. If you try to make a site 100% height-to-width SWF then technically a zoom is not a resizing and cannot trigger the resize event at all (it should not). But I don't want to speculate until I know if you try to first make a site SWF height and a width of 100%.

  If this isn't the case, then CSS can also not responded to zoom in, for the same reasons. You use CSS to Center your SWF object?

  No Flash is not an HTML editor built in but there are tons of free software that can highlight HTML syntax or even help with code completion, if you do not have Adobe Dreamweaver. Aptana is a very popular free HTML editor with code completion. Often, I use FlashDevelop just for code coloring and easy passage of a variety of types of codes (AS2, AS3, XML, HTML, etc.).

• pdf to txt/html/xml export

  I downloaded "acrobat adobe x pro" to try the "save under" / text/xml/htm etc export capability and the result was exactly what I was looking for in terms of production, keeping formatting etc.

  However, I am building an application that need to have a bookcase to the pdf with the conversion of xml/txt/html on the fly keeping the formatting.

  I tried a number of libraries for pdf to xml/txt/html conversion a none of them offer anything near what acrobat from adobe pro x done in terms om keeping format/tables etc.

  So my question is how to get to the "save under" / export feature in adobe acrobat x pro in any library official adobe, sdk, service, product, etc. because I assume that acrobat x pro does not expose an api for the feature to convert or can be used on the server side?

  Looks like you want to use Acrobat as a web service. Rather than continue this way, you can see that such use of Acrobat is prohibited under the terms of the license. Thus, it cannot merit to be pursued. Why convert to HTML is a possible question in any case, at least on a regular basis? Occasions, I can understand the need.

  For programmable functions, you should probably check into the SDK forum.

• Convert project HTML RH8 RH8 Word project

  I am new to this organization and support an existing RoboHelp 8 HTML project of FlashHelp online. My supervisor asked me out how to get our project RH8 HTML in a Word RH8 project and after reading this forum and others, sounds as if it was not the way forward. Intend to convert to Word must allow several authors (who are not notified of HTML) to create or update the help topics. So, my questions are:

  1. What is the right path to take?
  2. If conversion of HTML RH8 RH8 Word is not the right path, what suggestions do you have to allow the authors multiple create or edit content outside RH8 (and then of course incorporate the HTML online help project)?

  More Jeff offered, there isn't really a way to convert a RoboHelp html RoboHelp for Word project.

  Now, if you need to allow users to change content in Word, you can in RoboHelp 8 of Word documents "Linking" to the project. When you do this, you have icons in RoboHelp which warn you of changes in the Word content. You then simply update to pull new content in RoboHelp.

  Remember that so that it is at a distance successfully, you will need to make sure that everyone uses the word constantly. RoboHelp really works with the Word content better if he was constantly decorated with title 1, title 2 and title 3. Sometimes people simply slide in the text and set the font color and size is larger rather than apply consistent styles. When that happens things become a big mess when it comes in RoboHelp.

  Personally, I would display conversion projects from RoboHelp HTML to RoboHelp for Word be a bad shot. I would say stick with RoboHelp HTML and using the feature of binding to your advantage.

• FM8-&gt; HTML: why the images so tiny and unreadable?

  I am using FrameMaker 8 and generate HTML output for use in a custom help system.

  HTML generation works more or less (although there seems to be a lot of bugs with the mapping on the pages of reference... often my changes are ignored, and I do need to update several times before I get the mapping I asked)

  In any case, all my images are imported by reference into the document and most is set to 50%.

  The conversion to HTML (I'm saving in PNG) new images is reduced to 50% instead of use the size of the original image. This makes it unusable images, which means that my help system will be unusable.

  How can I get the size of the original image after the conversion?

  FYI: I have activate "Copy files imported by reference" in the HTML options for the first chapter of my book. I assumed that this would solve the problem. But I don't see any difference with this option turned on or off. Or is another behavior buggy with my settings are ignored again?

  I have an idea on how to get a correct conversion off FM8 in HTML with images that can be read by my users.

• Is the locale-specific number conversion chain?

  I would like to know what effect the computer's regional settings may have on the string number conversion in AS3. Specifically, in locales that use a comma as the decimal separator instead of a period, different conversion methods (Number() function, parseNumber(), Builder of the Number() class) they treat the comma as decimal separator? None of the documents I've read resolves this problem and all the examples use periods as a decimal separator. I suspect periods in strings will always be handled as decimal separators (and this is the behavior I want), but I would like to know for sure.

  FTR, an Adobe employee comes to informs me on programmers list that the answer to this question is no. period is always interpreted as a decimal separator, regardless of the location of the BONE.

• stop the main timeline in AS3

  I searched the forum and maybe to find relevant solutions, but I still don't understand. How to make simple "stop()", "play()" and check "currentFrame" on the main timeline of an AS3 class file?

  If the banner is your document class, this means that your main timeline must have only 1 frame (because the banner extends Sprite) and this means that it is foolish to check currentFrame and it has no sense to goto any image.

  do you know what you do picking the Sprite class or do you really want banner to extend the MovieClip class?

  I do not trust the automatic conversion into AS3 (it works reliably, I can't remember the rules).

  So I think that you started with a full url string and who found a way to find a substring that was to the right side of the = xml.
