• compare the mixed data clusters which include some floats

  Did someone come up with what they consider to be a slick way to compare groups of mixed (including floats) data for functional equality (close enough)? Are all I have manged to come with specific-the-cluster screws using a while loop with a case statement internal focus on the index to scroll the cluster element by element to make comparisons, using an appropriate method to compare the floats that can accept a tolerance.  I thought that maybe someone can already built a more generic solution based on clusters of variant data conversion and then direction each piece of data to a correct comparison for its data type.

  The attached Zip file has versions v7.1.1, v8.0 and v2014 my VI for this comparison. I need to rework the managed case RefNum objects to the fact that they will be digital or ASCII (e.g.: VISA). I also added an error output to make it easier to tell when the process runs off the rails. At this point, I'll say I'm done with this, because what I created, this is what I need to do and the elves of the forum NOR are harassing me to mark something on this topic as a response. Enjoy!

• Clusters of indexing that are different sizes

  Hi all

  I am trying to do a simple task, but I don't know if there is a simple solution or not. Here's my problem:

  I have a main core which consists of additional clusters (call subgroups). These groups vary in size, ranging from 1 8 elements boolean Boolean element.

  Is there a simple way to index each subgroup within a loop for? When I use the node property, the value of sub-clusters is a Variant that I need to convert data type of cluster. I have a problem doing so, b/c 'Variant to data' requires a known cluster size to be set. Given that the sub-groups vary in size, I can't specify a fixed size. As it is, I am ERROR 91 during the variant for the conversion dattype process.

  Ha Ha, I used a pretty lame test case.

  I wrote of how brute force when I thought of the vi.lib VI.  This is the other way to do it in this case.

  

• Problem of cluster Failover MS after physical RDM conversion to VMDK

  Hello

  Last week I had to migrate 7 x 2-nodes virtual MS Failover clusters to a new data center. All clusters have been configured with the configuration of the cabin and all shared disks were in physical RDM mode.

  The target data center does not RDM disks so I had to convert all RDM disks VMDK files and use config before the migration of the IPC.

  I used vmkfstools to convert VMDK eagdrzeroedthick RDM files.

  5 clusters have been migrated successfully, but two cluster got strange question even if the procedure for all groups was the same.

  So in two groups, I have a problem where the second node in the cluster can not put online some of the shared disks. The first nodes in the clusters have no problem with the disks/SSP.

  But when I try to failover of all services, the second node may not bring online disc 1 or 2 shared, even if she can put the other shared disks online.

  VMKernel.log is not errors or warnings. I checked the configuration of virtual machines and everything seems OK.

  Any ideas what I could check?

  Just in case anyone else is facing the same problem.

  I could not find the root cause of the problem, even if it's without a doubt the conversion that triggered the problem. However, we found quite a simple solution - added new shared VMDK files, copied the files over and replaced the defective discs.

• Questions about the implementation of clusters of storage and DTS on active cluster

  I have a few questions about the implementation of clusters of data store and SRS storage in VSphere 5.1.

  We have a data center with about 15 HP blades and a few servers non-lame.  The hosts are all either VSphere 5.0 or 5.1.  Our back-end storage is an EMC VNX 5700 with about 20 stores of data.  All the VMWare is managed by VCenter 5.1 running on a dedicated physical machine.

  Currently, each data store is used individually; No piles of data store are put in place.  When a new virtual machine is created, the administrator usually chooses the data with the most space store.  Periodically, we will go back and manually storage vMotion machines to balance the load.

  Recently, we have expanded the VNX storage, so we now have LUNS in different pools, with different levels of performance.

  What I would do is set up for the data store clusters, so that us when a virtual machine is created, the administrator must not know what data store is in which pool.  Also take advantage of the DRS storage so that the burden of storage will be "refine" himself a little.

  I know the setting up of a cluster of storage in a 'clean' environment is quite simple, but my concern is creation/conversion data warehouses existing in active production in the cluster, while they are used.

  If I access the screen "data warehouses and store data from clusters ', right-click on the data center and create a cluster, and then move the various data stores in the new cluster, will there be an interruption in the production running systems?

  I also wonder about activation of storage i/o control.  It is not currently enabled on data warehouses.  I know it's useful for the StorageDRS, but will be allowing any negative impact on the system?  If I turn on the warehouses of data, is there anything else I should do or set in addition to all that allows him?

  Finally, we are in the process of Site Recovery Manager configuration.  SRS has an impact on the configuration of the data clusters and DTS store?

  With all due respect but SRM and DTS don't go together. SRM does not at all support the use of DTS. So if you are configuring SRM forget DTS for now.

  Reason for this is that SRM knows no DTS and VMs can be in flight when a failover should occur, and bad things can happen. Also, the protection breaks when a virtual computer is moved between data warehouses in a cluster data store.

  In short: don't go there.

• Virtual machines with oscillating clusters RDM

  People,

  We have two clusters at two knots with all nodes running ESX3.5 U1. Clusters have different CPU types that prevent from VMotion between clusters. All nodes are attached CF and share storage on an EMC CLARiiON CX3-80. Currently VMFS data warehouses, which are for most of the OS disks, are shared by all clusters, but the RDM (data readers) are presented specifically to one or other of the clusters. We are planning a major reorganization of our infrastructure which means Exchange effectively clusters for the majority of our virtual machines. Is there a more effective way of migration that detach the RDM, cold, migrate virtual machines and adding the back ROW on the other side?

  As you can tell my experience of internals VMware is currently quite limited, but I learn - as sometimes the hard way!

  Hi Paul:

  Everyone here has some excellent suggestions. However, cold migrate a virtual machine that has the RDM will actually convert or clone the content of the ROW in a virtual disk. The original content of the RDM will be left intact, and the only way to avoid the conversion with a cold-migrate is to remove from the configuration of your virtual machine first ROW (as you mentioned). With the help of Storage Vmotion will only move the pointer of the RDM files and actually does nothing with the RDM themselves. You'd still have to place them in your storage array to another cluster.

  Hi all

  We plan to convert one of our (AD) domain controller in Virtual box, then must make grouping with another physical box (DHCP).

  Can someone help me on this...

  First need to know

  1 can we do clustering on physical Virtaul-bix in a windows environment. ?

  2. Keeeping (ADC) box of vmware domain controller is recommended... a... ? If so can we Virtaul virtual or physical to virtual clustering.

  Note: The controller (ADC) of area intended only DHCP enabled no specified ROLE on this.

  What do P2V ADC?

  This is a wrong approach

  AD is a database structure that could not be stopped on a running system.

  So the only way to make a coherent P2V, it is use a cold conversion (but you need the Enterprise Converter) or try to do it in Restore Mode Active Directory.

  In Inbox, I can sort my emails by date, but you'd host a conversation by date?

  Car the current presentation organizes me them from the oldest to the newest. And me I want from the most recent to the oldest...

  What may seem logical for some is not pay others. When a 200 mails in a conversation and we want to avoid going down with her laetitia down pour mail to meet the last ;-)

  I've just updated to iOS 10 on my iPhone more than 6 and a group conversation in the Messages that I sometimes put on DND now does not recognize that the conversation has been implemented within DND.  Messages continues to inform me about all messages from anyone in the group.  Is there any solution for this?

  Have what troubleshooting you tried? Troubleshooting user steps include reboot, reset, restore from backup, restore to factory; tests after each stage.

  If you return in the message after the ignition of the DND, does always show as it is turned on?

• How can I recover photos lost in the conversion of Photos?

  Was > 90 k pictures and nearly 200 albums iPhoto library. Bought a new iMac with El Capitan and convert photo library. After conversion, most of the albums displayed holders place empty, some with title data, but more without. Saved and repair (command option, open Photos). Post a regeneration, it is now only display 8 k photos with about 10 albums. See no reason for what is successful and what was lost, even if the older DSLR photos seem to be most of what has disappeared. Any help would be appreciated.

  first thing I would do is the original library repeat migration - restore your backup of it and drag the backup restored to Photos icon in the Dock to migrate

  The ability to 'iChat' in one account AIM and Jabber for video chat or Audio Only WITHIN the app is no longer.

  The Menu of the video has disappeared.

  Screen sharing also went to El Capitan (in the House somehow)

  NOTE Jingle is actually an add-on to Jabber/XMPP but is not compatible with GoogleTalk Google video or their plug-in for browsers.

  Just upgraded my phone to iOS 10, and new mail conversation view is not usable. This might work for personal emails, but for work when I have maybe 10 to 20 emails in a single conversation, it's unmanageable to have to scroll all the way. 1 on 20 may have an attachment you are looking for. I'm very likely going to have to use Microsoft Outlook instead.

  Someone at - he found a way to restore the 9 mail iOS conversation view?

  Apple, please take this feedback from someone who is a strong supporter since the original iPhone. The new view of mailconversation is a big step backwards in usability.

  Regarding the threading, if you type on see more in the lower left corner of the mail, it will show everything that the thread. If you look in the upper right corner of the screen, you will see Done. Tap on that and it will return to the last post. If you are simply looking at the Inbox, there will be an arrow to the right of the post office, blue, double-chevron. Press on and it will show all messages for this particular thread and the head of arrow will point down. Tap it again, and the wire will collapse.

  Annoying bug. It seems that iOS 10 has a lot of Polish.

  Swipe left to close a conversation?  I never heard of such a thing.

  Instead, there is a left arrow "<" in the upper left corner of the screen.  Tapping is the way to close a conversation.
