  • The conversion. VOB. AVI, adding data?

I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and try to find a solution to convert the created DVD archive, or. Disk images ISO of the DVD to an AVI wrapper for preservation purposes. I am able to import a VIDEO_TS folder into Premiere Pro, and even if I get an "unsupported file format" message, it is always important the. VOB files. I then concatenate these into a new project and export to. Uncompressed AVI, DV NTSC. The original DVD. ISO is about 3.5 GB and the result. AVI is about 15 GB. I also tried to export to a. Wrapper MOV, but I got the same result. Where is the set of these additional data coming from? I'm trying to get a flat transfer, so additional data are unacceptable to me. If the original DVD has compressed the files it contains, how to convert an uncompressed codec, Add more data? Could someone suggest a better codec for flat transfer, without adding all the data, all to also do not compress too?

    Thank you very much!

DV is NOT "uncompressed", but the standard DV is 25mbps. DVD-video is typically compressed to 8mbps or less, so it makes sense that your conversion results in larger files. It is not a 'flat' transfer, you convert a totally different format, ranging from Long-GOP MPEG-2 for DVD to avi DV NTSC.

If you want to check smaller files, try H.264

A .vob is a type of video file DVD, which, as well as other types of files is used for standard DVDs. This is a special type of file video mpg, and a single .vob file will play on just a few players. If you have installed other players, first see if it will play on one of them. Depending on the OS and WMP you have, often you can do a video .vob file play on WMP by changing the extension .vob to .mpg. The player may ask you if you want to try to read the file, and if you answer Yes, it will play then. If these two fail, there are many programs that can convert a .vob to .wmv, .mpg or other formats that WMP will play. This program is free, but pays a lot those who give you a free trial, that could be enough to get you to your current problem.

  • Lack of Audio in DV file Type conversion in Streamclip

    Hi all

Thanks in advance for your help.

I would ask your opinion on the conversion of VOB files from a file type that I can edit with Adobe Premier elements v13 software:

My goal is to use a file type that will provide the best video quality while being effective to change.  I use "MPEG Streamclip", and when I convert in the file type "DV" I lose sound completely.  When I converted to "MPEG with MPEG2 audio" the sound is OK but I understand that this type of file will be less effective to change.

Do you know why I'm losing audio when converting to the file type "DV"?

How can I get the converted file to the recommended with the audio intact preserved DV file type?

    Thank you

    Scott

Try my suggestion. I think that you will find it easier and better.

With respect to the duty to work with several VOBs, which can be simplified to. In the future, when you want to use the video to a DVD, place the DVD in the hard disk of your computer and use Add Media / camera DVD or disc to "rip" files from the drive on your computer. You can even choose to have all files on the disc directly added to your calendar. It is much simpler and it helps you to avoid dealing with the VOB files that do not include the video you want or don't include any video at all.

Of course, I guess that the video that you are ripping the DVD is not a commercial DVD. Protected DVDs, commercial have other issues.

  • First Elements 13: Mounting a WMV distilled from a PowerPoint... Can't see the Audio track

I am someone help with what we thought would be a minor change task. We have a WMV file created from a PowerPoint presentation (and no, we don't have access to this old PowerPoint). We need to move some of the video autour, but leave the audio the same. When we added the media, we can see the video and hear the sound, but the audio is not on a track in the timeline panel.

For some time I used the first. The answer lies in the conversion of PowerPoint to .wmv? Is this why we cannot see a separate audio track? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Richards_Daddy

I hope this will be new to the program rather than a question of serious program concern.

I am basing my optimism on your statement of "when we added the media, we can see the video and hear the sound, but the sound is not on a track in the timeline.

What version of Premiere Elements are do you use and which operating system is involved?

    For now, I'm going to presume first items 11, 12/12.1, 13/13.1 on Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 64bits.

In what specific workspace to the project are you? You are in the area of Expert work or fast.

Fast working space is not a dedicated numbered audio track.

If you are in space and quick work of his film, then go to the workspace Expert with his script numbered video tracks, audio tracks numbered, track of Narration and soundtrack.

If this isn't the problem, then we can move on to other factors related to the issue.

    Thank you.

  • CS6 - cannot open VOB video file

VOB is listed as a video file in charge but it does not open via drag and drop or import via video images to layers. I get the message, 'could not complete your request because the video file could not be opened'. Other supported formats video work. I'm CS6 64-bit Windows. Any suggestions in addition to the conversion of VOB files?

VOB (files video object) is a wrapper or container. They contain usually just a multiplex MPEG2 Stream AV, but according to how and where they were created, the first VOB can also contain DVDs Menus and navigation instructions. Once again, depending on how / where they were created, these Menus and navigation instructions maybe not 100% compatible DVD.

This article goes much more in depth and also has links to aid a rip stream MPEG-2 AV, even from non-compliant DVD VOB: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2298534#2298534

My first guess who would be the VOB problem (s), was created by a DVR bridge, or by software, outputs no compatible DVD VOB.

Good luck and hope that helps.

Forget the BUP and IFO files... important video files
    are VOB files.

For a reference... the following articles explain the various files

If you copy the VOB files to a folder on your hard drive and
Rename the .mpg you should be able to play
    Windows Media Player.

This way you can determine exactly which file contains the
    content you want to change.

It is possible that you may be able to import the renamed
in Movie Maker .mpg files, as it is but if it is not... you will have to
convert to WMV format before importing.

The following freeware can convert VOB to WMV...

Restore point before installing software or updates)

(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup250.zip
(FWIW... installation..., you might want to
Uncheck all of the boxes on the last screen)

First... after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your VOB files on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

(Have patience... maty conversion take a while)

    That should do it...

  • How to convert a video with Playmemories Home (latest version 3.03)

    Hello

    I have a Camcorder HDR-CX580V to work.

    I am running W7 64 bit.

I installed everything first LIte version by following the instructions manual (the camera was always plugged USB).

I have couple of movies (mpeg/m2ts) to a different resolution (HD and STD)

With the version lite, I see that editing/conversion, I have the WMV and MPEG-2 conversion option.

But I can not used (they are light gray shade).

So I decided to upgrade to the full version.

After the upgrade, the only format conversion option I have is MP4?

    I don't have a choice of MPEG-2?

Then, when I try tho convert with the only choice (MP4) and the abandonment of the process of conversion after 1 second.

After a lot of waste hours trying to understand and find information about the problem (interference of codecs), I decided to install on another computer same PMH result.

The camera at home and try the installation process on my personal computer.

Always have the only choice of codec MP4 but this time I managed to convert the m2ts/mpeg file to mp4.

But I'm still confuse the process.

    I had a registered STD (720 x 480) mpeg movie and once converted mp4 it's now stretche (ugly) 1920 x 1080.

No idea why it doesn't work and why I am so limited in the conversion option?

    Should I buy third-party converter/dvd burner?

    Thank you

I have the same problem. When I try to convert mpeg files (saved in this format by my camera DCR-SR35), after a short time, I get an error message saying that the conversion to mp4 can be due to an error. other formats are not present as an option.

This indicates to me that it is a problem with Quicktime.  But with the problem without access to office programs and Windows Explorer I can't uninstall it.  I can access the control Alt Delete Task Manager and open a number of things with the file as Regedit menu but no third-party program.  No way at the moment so I uninstall Quicktime.  An another quark which comes from what I saw on the internet that the Appwiz.cpl file is supposed to open programs and features to uninstall, but I don't have that on my computer or on one of two external hard drives that I use for backups.  What is the correct file to use?  If so, I wonder why it is not in my Windows folder, and why programs and features worked before without this file?
Also, I tried 4 different restore points but that did not help either, and repair the boot and repair of windows.  And can not access to Cmd.exe.
So would be grateful if someone could, initially, index me on the file suitable for we hope to open programs and features.  Also maybe the files to open the Start Menu folder and file to open the control panel.  And maybe another idea about this problem.  I could delete files QuickTime in Regedit?
Programs running in the background if they are started by themselves, otherwise I have no control.  Can go on the internet with the hyperlink at the bottom of the error message.
    Thanks for any help.

My computer has been started with a full desktop but immediately got the error windows explore hanging everything up.  Starts in safe mode with the same results.

Finally solved my problem, however.  As mentioned in my original post, I could open through Control Alt Delete Task Manager and using the menu option file could open Regedit.  Also, I could open a browser with hyperlink at the bottom of the error message.  And perhaps could have downloaded programs to help, except once downloaded, I would have no way to open and run with unavailable office.  But in the end, I deleted all entries in Quicktime using the search function.  Took about 4 hours. but when I am the way, the way down on the list when I deleted an entry Windows came into Shut Down mode.  And, Viola, after reboot everything was normal again based on the last restore point, that I had used.
Then, I finished uninstalling Quicktime with Revo Uninstaller.
I understand that some people out there are uncomfortable to play with the registry, but I did for many years, since 98, so for me it was no problem, so everyone is very careful and has a good understanding and concept of what they are doing.  I think it is the only solution to a problem like this with the exception of reinstaling Windows.  For me, it's a far last option.  And then if someone mess up the registry, they would have to reinstall anyway.
For anyone else read this and maybe one of the technicians can expand on this, you could possibly use a Ubunto Live Linnux DVD to open the user? file to edit the registry in this way, too.  Don't know if it works or not.  But too bad it does not a type program MS-DOS out there who would do something like this easier.  There may be but I don't see one.  And as I mentioned in the first post, repair, restoration and other repair startup options did not work.  As a suggestion, perhaps a repair feature that can capture error information, analyze the registry and fix it with the minimum participation of the user.
I write all this with other users in mind that will go looking for clues and find help very few experts who give you generic, non-specific responses.
