Convert sine sawtooth

Hello

I need to convert a sine wave DDS in different signals (teeth of saw, square, triangle) generated in Labview FPGA.
I would be grateful if you could help me find an easy way to achieve this goal.

Thanks in advance!

You can use the increment method I suggested for saw teeth unless you increase when the square wave (or sine) is positive, or decrease when it is negative. This method is not the quality of the input except for transitions of comparator signal.

  • Sine, square and Sawtooth generation of sweep with variable duty cycle/rise time & descent

    Dear all!

I ask and need some frank advice on the question of the subject counts with the following note:

    (1) I am a novice in LabView.

    (2) I graduated in electronic engineering average who graduated about 9 years ago and since then I have not been involved in electronic engineering.

I have undertaken a task or the generation of sinusoidal waveforms, Square and sawtooth. All these signals must be swept frequency form 1 Hz to 100 kHz. The amplitude of these waveforms should be able to be adjusted. The Square Wave cycle should also be adjustable (or better to be able to be scanned). Similarly the rise time and the fall of saw teeth time should also be adjustable (or better to be able to be scanned).

Is considering other options as well, I want to try it on LabView.

I would like to ask that is it possible to perform this task in Labview 7.0? If possible given the para 1 & 2 above, is it possible for me to finish this task in 15-20 days if I work on it for about 3 hours a day? If this isn't the case, then that may be a reasonable estimate?

I'll be very grateful if you people can offer advice on the whole project or part of it.

Thanking you in advance and requires urgent response (s).

If you have less than the full version of LabVIEW, you have defined functions of generation of waveforms. They can be used to generate the signals of Zack with the NI DAQ board. An experienced programmer may be able to write the program in as little as 3 hours in total. How long it wouldw take you is going to be a little higher but depends on how long you are willing to invest in learning the basics of everything first.

  • Simulate the sine wave using LabVIEW FPGA with NOR-myRIO and display in real time

    Hello

I'm relatively new to LabVIEW FPGA. I am trying to test (and later apply) controllers high speed on myRIO.

At this point, I'm trying to simulate the sine wave from 1 to 10 kHz using Sinewave generator VI express. I also intend to display the sine wave on the time real (RT) using FIFO. However, I had a bit of trouble to understaing various synchronization parameters.

    1. how to encode information about the sampling frequency generating sine wave? (The side FPGA vi requires only the frequency of the signal and possibly phase and does not rate update lines)

    2. how to estimate the number of items in a FIFO? (that is, the relationship between the rate of updates to loop (RT), the signal frequency, sampling frequency and the number of items in the FIFO)

It would be great if we could share a very simple program (side host and target) that did something similar.

    Thank you

    MILIN

    Milot,

I think the problem is the type of data in your FIFO. Your FIFO is configured to use a data type of I16. The problem is the number, it displays only ever will be-1, 0 or 1. To resolve this problem, you must send the sine wave as a fixed point data and convert it to a double on the side of the RT. This should significantly improve your resolution.

  • output signals of the rectangle a PEAK sine wave conversion

    Hello

I have a question on the treatment of a PIC16F84 output signals. It seems that the simulation of Multisim does not work properly - but before I blame Multisim, I ask the community NOR or software engineers or a solution. Because I'm German, you are invited to continue this thread in German if it is allowed by the rules of the forum. If you need additional information to analyze my problem, I'll be happy to provide.

The circuit itself has to convert "composition by pulse" signals "tone" (DTMF tones). So you can get old, classic phones work on new devices that do not support the "composition of pulse" more.

The circuit is powered by the analog telephone line current loop line. The PIC is provided by a rudimentary voltage regulation and count pulse signals (voltage failures / power interruption on the telephone line). After that the captain means the series of impulses in their equal number (e.g. 3 pulses = number 3). The captain gives finally two signals with different frequencies to generate a DTMF tone (e.g. number 3 here is 697 and 1477Hz). As you can see in my PDF file attached, it works very well.

Now I have to convert the rectangle wave given by the captain to an at least similar to a sine wave form - otherwise the device that receives the DTMF tones won't understand them.

So I connected a low-pass filter at the output of the PIC. Now, expect the rectangle signal to be smooth in a way as the 'e-function' will (loading / discharging a capacitor through a resistor). But the results are very far from that - as you can see I have very strange curves.

When I implemented a frequency generator with the same output signal as the PEAK and the low pass filter even I get curves as expected.

So we can say that the output of the PIC works like a frequency generator in my circuit. But why does the filter not behave as it should?

I've tried a lot of different values for the parameters of my RC-filter and simulation - this does not solve the problem.

It would be nice if someone has any idea how to solve this problem.

    Thank you.

The output impedance of the PEAK may be too high. May be that my car 50 output? Try scaling of impedance of the filter.  Do the 10000 ohms resistance and capacitor 10 nF.

    Hi mother,.

is there a specific reason to use MathScript to create a sine wave and convert it into a waveform "digitized"?

Why not use simple functions of Signal Processing functions palette?

    To answer your question:

  • Screen touch problems when you use the converter

We just bought an Envy 27 tilt to our Caravan for all the good characteristics that HP has and TV

Cause sometimes will want to run the HP converter 12v 400 watt true sine wave.

We tried this to find a problem, the computer functioned well but the touchscreen ran a muck and did not work as usual.

So after much googling and some reading I'd like here to answer fo HP.

As I can't believe, I'd be the first to come on this problem and want to put it all in one in a motor home.

What I read, it could be a matter of dirty power of the inveter, but we thought we have purchase the best brand true sine wave, we could leave our guys of battery here in Australia.

Any advice would be received with gratitude.

Thanks Lou, first of all for your time and on the other hand for your thoughts and advice.

We have it finally working outside a performance of the inverter with number.

But I have to say without any worthy of official telephone hotline support of HP.

Lou, I'm working through several of your suggestions, pending the official response to my survey on what brand or type of UPS or UPS I should use with my desire to tilt.

Well, it is very sad that a massive company like HP with what you would think would be a very large R & D service, cannot answer a simple question, like what type of UPS or UPS if they recommend to work with the touchscreen of the tilt.

The poor people, I was talking to, had no idea what I was talking about, or what I was trying to do. How a computer call center peason knows not what a UPS, I can understand on an inverter, but the tech people, these are things really very similar in the different boxes.

OK, if you have this problem with your inverter and touch screen, first of all not all inverters are equal even in the same brand that I discovered. I want to thank my provider inverter & battery for their time and for allowing me to put in place the HP Envy of tilt on the back of their store and try different UPSs, inverters and batteries.

I'll talk about brands here, not rat on the brand, but as it may be useful to someone else in Australia in the future. It seems that my "Epower DCAC 400w 12v true sine inverter" wasn't at the height when it came to clean AC power required to operate the touch screen without problem.

In the end, we tried a "Epower DCAC 1000w true Sine Wave 12v', really just to give it a go, thinking it would be a better to be the same brand as the unit of 400w, well it worked quite OK

This unit of true sine wave Epower 12 v 1000w, fixed our problem with touchscreen and ran HP Envy tilt as if it is running on AC power.

If anyone is interested for camper here, I found this configuration to draw between 4 and 5 amperes of batteries of 12v and about 41 Watts @ runing 240 volts a you tube clip.

Well it is my experiences and the final result, I hope this helps someone else in the future, I'm sure that HP will not be able to.

    Thank you all.

  • Reversed analog sawtooth and

I need to output a reverse sawtooth of an analogue channel of my DAQ. I tried to build one to simulate arbitrary signals Express but which generates dynamic data.

So, how can I make a dynamic data output and make it suitable to go to my DAQ card, or can anyone think how to reverse the wave sawtooth since the function generator, which generates a wave?

I tried the convert of DDT, but I still don't see anything on a waveform graph. I understand that Dynamic data has no timing information, correct?

I love when I have my own problems...

  • How to convert binary data from the Panel controls in ASCII values?

    Hello

I seemed to face a roadblock with how to convert binary values in ascii.

I created this .vi to save all control values in an .ini file and call them at that time where I will carry out the .vi as shown in the file attached. Registration key to simply save the data and Cancel button discards all current changes.

I would like to understand how to retrieve all the values of control to ASCII, so I assign to a global variable for later use. Not reinventing the wheel, when there are ready to use of solutions, for example:

    http://sine.NI.com/NIPs/CDs/view/p/lang/en/NID/209753

Use the MGI save & restore settings VI of the palette (for example, it records all the settings that have been changed in a graph, which is very useful) and the MGI Save (restoration) Front Panel data live (to save and restore control values in the front panel).

  • How to convert a number to a 10-bit array that will go in an external DAC (AD7533)

    Hello

This here is my situation.  I'm using with LABVIEW to program a CPU in the following way:

1 Laview calculates the values of a sine wave, according to the number of loop iteration. (i.e. generating a value of the sine at different frequencies).

    2. it is adjusted between-/ + 1.

    3. I connect an array of digital output ports to an external, independent, four quadrants, 10 - bit DAC. The part is AD7533, and I hope I can use it in bipolar configuration.

My question is, how do I convert the number of sine wave (or triangal, sqr, etc.) in a table of values of T/F can I stream through my DAC and output a sine wave signal?

I tried number Boolean array with the calculated value of sinus, but do not give me any bits of hard.

    All suggestions greatly apprec.

Post what you have done so far.  Are starting you with a a U16 or I16 whole bit (or more)?  How do you do the scaling between +/-1 and an integer.  It should be just a matter of using the table number of Boolean and then using a subset of the table to reduce up to 10 items boolean.  If you are starting with an integer I16, it may be a matter of taking the element of corresponding table of the sign bit and the 9 elements that correspond to the less significant bits, to put together to make an array of 10 elements.

The VI in math palette is a polymorphic, it accepts the input also array.

attached a VI for your reference.

VI generates 1000 randon numbers and trace the sine and cosine wave.

    Salu2,

  • Converter for laptop

I have a laptop HP pavilion dv4-1145go and I would use it in the car on a camping trip.  I read online that I should use a converter pure sine to convert dc to ac. I called my local electronics store, and they told me that this filter is built into the power adapter to the pc, so I really didn't need the pure sine wave inverter.  Do I need converter pure sine (cheapest is about $100)?  Also, how much power to I need to run this laptop?  How much is too much?  Thank you...

    Glad I could help...

As I said I've been using inverters to power when on employment in construction and while camping for quite awhile.  Have not been able to get camping for awhile, but had developed an interesting configuration for our favorite campground.

picture a canyon of the small box that opens on a lake and is about 80 feet deep and 150 feet in diameter from the open end.  We strings of nylon thread 1/4 inch on the top of the canyon and then use it to shoot and support "zip" (like a lamp cable) cord through the canyon. On this zip line we placed shells.  These are very similar to what serve many Christmas tree. They clip on the line and Pierce the insulation to reach the electrical conductors without having to the Strip or cut the line. On these outlets would put us 14w fluorescent bulbs compact and reflectors facing down we have obtained elsewhere.

So as you can see, the installation program only has attracted about 60w but lit the area very well and had the additional advantage of attracting insects on the lights that were well above our heads.

It's just something to keep in mind for you...   Even 1 fire pulled up in a tree can give a general lighting for an area and prevent people from stumble in the dark and help attract insects away...

Yes, a converter DC-AC 120w will probably run for you.  But in my experience less than 200w inverters are very cheap. The few dollars you save will be spent again when this UPS dies before she really should.

My advice would be to get a 400w inverter as I've described. Check the box to be sure, it comes with the adapter and clips. You can use the lighter in the car where you run the laptop or DVD player and still be well under the limit of 20A of this socket.

'Better' inverters most have a protection mode to not drain the battery of the car down too far. Black & Decker, we're going to make a noise, others might just stop. When you hear the adutiable go alarm and start the car right away. Alarms are not as accurate as we could hope, and also depend on the status of your battery (what age there).

I know, it looks like I give a lot of warnings and a lot of different things to remember, but don't worry. Once you know the limits of your own decision-making power base and keep in you mind will be fine.   Especial en route to your destination.

One last thing.  I would advise that run you to the auto parts store before you go and pick up a box of fuses. For the type of your car uses to protect the lighter plug and for the type of the inverter to the inside of the plug that goes into the lighter. Unscrew the metal of the cigarette lighter to reveal this fuse and get plug end of identical spare parts.
