  So I downloaded my playlists iTunes from my old computer to a hard drive in the hope of transferring these playlists on my new mac computer. I saved all the playlist in a folder on my desktop, but when I click to open them, they open in iTunes with the correct name, but as empty playlists. I was able to transfer all my music on my new computer, but the songs that are in my playlists in fact do not in the playlist on iTunes.

  I think that the reason for this is because all playlists are saved in .m3u, but the content of them is in .mp3 format, that's why I thought it would just transfer via automatically when I open iTunes.

  For example, I have a playlist called Down.m3u bite, but the songs in the playlist are registered like this:

  You always have access to your old computer, with its intact iTunes library?  If so, the best way to transfer playlists is to transfer your iTunes complete (including your database files and media in whole iTunes library) folder.  Then, when you run iTunes on the new Mac, it looks like iTunes on your old computer, with all the songs and playlists.

  Can you still see the missing playlists on your hard drive?

  You can use Windows search to search for *.wpl and *.m3u, which should bring them up if they have not been deleted. In addition, please check the trash.

  What application are you using to burn the CD?

  If you use Windows Media Player to burn the DVD, the player creates a playlist that lists the files being burned and then includes the playlist to disk. If the drive supports selections, items will play in the order in which they appear in your burn list. By default, the playlist is saved with .wpl (selection of Windows Media Player). If you want to play your data discs on a device that does not support this extension, you can use the .m3u extension instead.

  Hi Natalie - WPL is a playlist file and cannot be converted to mp3 because it contains only pointers to the actual music files. You need locate the actual music files and transfer them from there. (They may not be no need for conversion - it depends if they are in a format supported by the SanDisk card - it seems to support usual ones).

  Is your iPhoto Library Library on your system drive in the pictures folder? And you have a lot of free space on your system drive? The migration will need additional temporary storage.

  Then drag the iPhoto library icon pictures open to create a new library of Photos of her.
