converting .mov

I'm trying to import from a digital camera .mov file in my Windows Movie Maker.  It says that the file type is not supported.  How can I get this file in a format supported by the Movie Maker?

I have a new laptop Dell Studio with Vista

Hi bluejay112,

The extension .mov is a type of video used by Apple. To import the file into Windows Movie Maker, you will need a video converter to convert the .mov file that is used by Windows Movie Maker. Apple offers Quicktime Pro as an option to convert your .mov files. Otherwise, you can do a search online for video conversion software to find one that fits your needs.

I am also including a list of video, audio and files taken image supported by Windows Movie Maker.

I downloaded a video of my Nikon DSLR, and it was recorded as MOV type.   I would like to know if there is a way to convert this type of mov file to play on a normal DVD player?  It plays fine on my laptop.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.   Thank you!

Hi, I did exactly what you instructed to do in the previous email.

Initially, I downloaded a video from my camera Nikon and, of course, the file type. MOV was not a supported file type.  So, I converted to WMV and allows the creation of Windows DVD to create my DVD.  I added the file creation and DVD burning... I received the error message that I just give it to you.    I appreciate your answers, but I am at a loss too.

  • convert MOV or WMV files in flv to play session

    Hello

does anyone know a tool where I can convert MOV or WMV files to a flv file that can be played in an Adobe meeting?

I tried SUPER! but when I download the file it gets converted and I see only a white screen on the pod.

Just my settings are wrong? Must be some resolution / audio format?

When I open it with media player classic, it can be played.

  • Convert MOV files to import into Premiere Pro 1.5 264

    Hey everybody,

It is in fact generated out of my previous post on the Kodak zi8 files.

    http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/700268?TSTART=0

We have established that PrPro 1.5 will not import the MOV files native to a Kodak zi8, which are of the 264 encoded MOV files.

What I need is some advice on an inexpensive way to convert MOV something 264 which PrPro 1.5 will recognize, I hope to a pretty decent quality.

I have QuickTime Pro.  But it has so many options and codecs and filters, I get lost.

Any help on this or any other way to convert them, would be much appreciated.

    Thank you!

If it works out for you try mpeg streamclip (free program) 4

    I just tested an export by a 1920x1080p 29.97 FPS avc h264 (same codec as your 1280 x 720)

Ann Bens that suggested earlier for you in the other thread, so if it works please give him the Star 'responded'... like the points going for a dinner of lobster from adobe.

Here images... Anyway my export file ends up being type avi 2 720 x 480 24 fps progressive to 16:9 and he plays well in the traditional media...

You can export first when you are finished with the 'other' audio parameters what do you give... or experiment with the audio settings in streamclip... I just chose mp3 as it is not an issue with me... ... .the audio sounds fine.  See images for all the info...

MP4 file was 28meg, export avi is 94 meg... because mp4 is highly compressed...

  • Convert .mov on DVD in Adobe Media Encoder

    Hello.

I do not see a category just for Adobe Media Encoder, so I think this one is closest to you.

I have a video file that I edited in Final Cut Express and exported and a QuickTime, the settings are the same as the original film, what is HD 16:9.

The video is about 50 minutes long and 14 GB. When I export to iDVD and burn it to a DVD, the quality is very poor.

Is there a better way to convert the .mov to DVD format and then burn it? I have Adobe Media Encoder but cannot figure out how to set the settings... I see no way to adjust the flow rate when I choose Convert .mov in MPEG-2 DVD.

I am somewhat new to this and would appreciate the help.

    Thank you

    David

For good performance of AVCHD, you need a quad-core processor, minimum.

  • Convert MOV to MP4

    Hi forum,

I use SOUL CS6 and I would like to convert a MOV to MP4 file. My format options are F4V, FLV, H.264, H.264 (inheritance) and MP3. I tried to export using H.264 and finished with a 3GP file. It is possible to export a file MP4 using one of my 5 format options? Or are there additional steps I need to take? If so, what are they?

    Thanks for your help!

In export H.264 settings click the multiplexer and switch from 3GPP MP4.  Your output file extension should change .mp4 .3gp

What is CPA? (Sorry... new to VMWare)

Article wiki on the SCP.  http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_copy

You can take a look at of Veeam FastSCP.  http://www.Veeam.com/ESX-FastSCP.html

I don't have access to the beta... what would be the best way...

The link in my post previous has instructions on how to sign up for the beta.  But if all that you're trying to do is to move the virtual machine, then you do not need converter.  You just need to Virtual Center or use SCP.
