Cookies and SOAP plugin

Howdy all,

I use the plugin from SOAP to make calls to the API of Proteus Bluecat Networks of GPI. Documentation of Proteus

Proteus uses cookies to maintain state. When you use the classes generated from WSDL, remember to enable cookies
on your system.

So I was wondering if there is a way to activate cookies in the SOAP plugin or Orchestrator itself.

I am running VCO 4.2.1

Hi Colin,

Sorry I was not clear enough with my first answer. The management of cookies (session essentially management) is done in a style browser in the same block of script within a workflow, but not between the different workflow.

For your particular case, there are two possible solutions:

  • Generate different workflows for different operations that you want to call and change the 'Script' element on each of them to call the login and logout before and after. The important thing is to reuse the same instance of the host within the entire block of script, and of course, you can call as many operations as you want between the operations of connection and disconnection. Something like:

  • Build a workflow for connection/disconnection operations (and for all the rest you want) and pass the headers for authentication of the outflow of connection for other workflows that require authentication. You can use the SOAPResponse.getOutHeader methods... (...) and SOAPRequest.addInHeader... (...) to achieve this, but you must change the workflow to add the appropriate output generated or input parameters.

The advantage of the model by script block session is that users must worry about opening and closing the session, the disadvantage is that you need to change the work flow generated in cases like yours. In any case it seems not a bad idea to study the possibility of including operations manually open and close sessions for future versions of the plugin.

    Note that replacements above are only to allow the WSDL file to import successfully. They are not semantically equivalent transformations so there could be some problems when executing when you try to call SOAP operations using some of the changed items.

    Hello.

    I found a problem with the initialization of the inventory for the SOAP plugin.

    There is a device orchestrator with SOAP plugin installed.

    There is a SOAP host defined in the inventory of the SOAP plugin. To access this host of action script, I use the method "SOAPHostManager.getHosts ()".

    The problem appears after orchestrator service restarts when the SOAPHostManager.getHosts () method returns an empty list (no matter how much time has passed since the reboot was completed).

    After I manually navigate the SOAP plugin with orchestrator client inventory, the problem goes away and 'getHosts()' begins to work properly.

    Is it possible to automatically perform the initialization of the inventory for the SOAP plugin?

    Just hollow cheked the doc of the plugin and seems that there is a bit of confusion.

    SOAPHostManager.getHosts () - returns only the host names of SOAP

    If you need an object entirely initilized SOAPHost you can do something like...

    var soapHosts = Server.findAllForType ("SOAP:Host")

    System.log (soapHosts.Length);

    for {(hostIdx to soapHosts)

    Host = soapHosts [hostIdx]

    System.log (host.preferredEndpointURL + "-" + soapHosts [hostIdx]);

    In my inventory there is no host of SOAP, not even the VCO itself. I don't know if you need to manually add the localhost, or if it is suppsed to be built-in, however I could not find how to add the local host. Can someone indicate what are the parameters?

    Well, for that you don't need SOAP-Plugin!

    vCO itself already provides a Web service SOAP, see the documentation "Developing a WebService Client".

    You can enable/disable browser.preferences.inContent false on the topic: page config to restore the autonomous Options/preferences window you had in previous versions of Firefox.

    You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
    You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.

    SQLite files are never deleted or size reduced if the content is removed, so you can not tell by their presence if all data are left in it.
    There may be some records marked as being removed still left in the file that would not display in the user interface.
    You will need to check the files with a hex viewer to check that.

    I don't know about the cache of the jumplist.

    I delete all my cookies with the exception of the 5 or 6 that are Web sites that I visit daily. I went and deleted all cookies and cookie above was successfully deleted.

    When you choose "Remember history never" then Firefox puts your entire session in private browsing mode. That does not permanently keep cookies between sessions, but I'm not sure the cache. (Logically, that must not be kept either.)

    If you want to choose what to save, change the dropdown to "never remember history" to "Use the custom settings for history" and uncheck "always use private browsing mode. Then, you can manage your shutdown options individually.

    Hello hpgirl18, try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

    (If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • Under Windows, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.
