  • Pavilion dv7-6c60us: issue of replacement to the Pavilion dv7-6c60us cooling fan

Hi, so I was very sick, and having a TON of medical procedures made and until they are made my phone is my lifeline and my entertainment, etc.  So a few months back I started getting the dreaded cooling fan error 90 b at random, but now it's every time you start, I built workstations for 3D animation and editing of film/TV (which I do) from scratch and I replaced my previous laptop motherboard Dell, but it's been a while and I'm mixes returns on the research of some saying that it is easy to just replace the fan, pop the switch out, replace it and you are made to these step by step guides, saying: he basically have to go all the way to the motherboard to replace just the fan.  I wanted to just go straight to the horses mouth so to speak and know, because given my health unstable and "convalescent" until I got better in VERY VERY RURAL NC it is now a doubtful 'authorized repair shop' which is little far from me, I wonder if it is only involved should I just let - keeping in mind , I have medical bills piling up and a lot of know how myself, but maybe not the stamina, or should I hard outside - year how "hard" is to just replace the fan.  The left side of the laptop last week became really hot to the touch, whereas before there were 90 b but there was no significant difference and the unit still works, and that's all that I have here PC / computer wise and cannot not simply run out and purchase all replacement until after I'm better that might be 4 months or more? Help?

Replace a fan in a book involves a complete disassembly of the laptop.

If you don't have the patience and thoroughness to disassemble and reassemble then the laptop to a State because of your physical condition, I would recommend having a shop to do it for you. Consider cloning hard drive to a storage device before you leave the shop to have it.

    Hello

A few days ago I started getting message, with a cooling fan problem, error 90 b

But this error was only occurring when I started my laptop after 5-6 hours

I mean when I started this morning, at the first moment it showed this error, and when it will stop automatically (it says, ENTER to continue starting or it will stop in 10 or 15 seconds) and then I start it again, but this time, no error started end

So guyz, I wanted to know whether hardware or software problem or something else

Still my warranty period which goes, so should I goto HP support center?

    I'm on HP Pavilion dv6

It is material but may be repairable before you send it. Bend over a paperclip and stick it through the grid to hold the fan and prevent it from running out of control and blow compressed air in the grid to dislodge any dirt or dust that can be hung up the fan. If it does not the fan may need to be replaced.

I have a SP6100 and it keeps giving me an error message about the cooling fan does not. Then he tells me to stop immediately and runs very slowly. The fan come on, but after three or four short bursts it stops and the message appears.
Is it a mechanical problem with the fan? I took out the radiator and the fan, and it was clean and not sticky.
What is a system problem? The BIOS has recently been updated.
Should I just invest in a new cooling unit and if so where would I get one?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you.

  • Error number HP G62-105SA cooling fan 902

    I have a G62-105SA laptop for a few months.

My laptop stopped unexpectedly and a message saying that he was cut because he had been too hot. This seemed strange because he had been on about 30 minutes and was on a desk where the events were not blocked. However, it was very hot. I waited a few minutes, he turned back, and now there is an error message in the error message from the bios 902. It's the cooling fan.

I tried to download the update of the bios on the site of HP support for this model of laptop, installed using the windows key + B and a stick of memory, but the problem is still there.

This happens every time the laptop is turned on.

    What is the next step?

are just double check, you able to go to the Windows desktop?

If the BIOS installation continued does not solve the problem... you have to return the aircraft to service... as the error indicates that a fan is not working or it runs more slowly than needed sleep...

  • HP elitebook 8560w: (error 90 b) cooling fan does not

    Hi all

I have a problem with my cooling fan. Some time ago I got the error of 90 b, and after you open the laptop, I discovered the fan was not properly spinning (my warranty has already expired). I ordered a replacement radiator and a fan online, and yesterday I replaced the old. Unfortunately, I still have the error and the fan has not yet run. I have advanced and did some more research.

I hooked old and new fans to a 5V DC source. Conclusion: the old fan indeed did not work, but the new fan DOES not work. Also I made the fan connector is connected correctly. This brings me to my question for you guys, what could be the cause of my fan doesn't turn does not correctly?

    In a few words all:

    -Fan doesn't spin

-The fan which is the version currently operate when connected to an external 5V source

    -Fan is properly connected

-The search for the cause of the problem and a way to fix (if all goes well, without having to buy a new motherboard)

I hope someone can help me!

    Kind regards

    Mike

Now I solved this problem myself. After much research I discovered that this error can be caused by several problems:

-Something impedes the fan to run properly

    -The fan itself is broken

-The motherboard fan connector is broken

For me, the last of them was the case. I fixed that by disassemble the laptop and in rewiring the fan as it is powered by my disc drive. It is not a practical solution because my fan always runs at maximum power now, but it does the job.

I hope that this post is useful to someone.

You don't HAVE to replace the radiator. It is a block of metal, and nothing can go wrong with it as long as air hoses are not twisted. You can replace the fan only, but it takes a little more effort. I don't think, however, that you can replace the fan without also disconnecting the heatsink heat set. And whenever you break the link between the radiator and the processor, you must clean the surfaces and reapply the thermal paste. Any competent tech would try to do this procedure without the opportunity to own thermal paste.

If you need help with the thermal paste let us know. The key is; more thick, isn't better. In fact the thinnest of the coat you apply the better as it is a cover full of all the heart of processor. Slop not paste in the circuits of the CPU.

Maximum PC Magazine did a study on this a few years back and found no difference between the performance of cheap white composed and stuff in precious metal expensive as long as it is applied with skill.

  • L50-B-1VR satellite cooler fan

Hello people, I am new here. My name is Alexander.

I have a question on my lap top of title. I want to know my lap top have cooler fan or it has passive cooling? It is important for me because I can not find this information on the internet anywhere. Sometimes, he raised the temperature of the CPU... and I want to know is what a few cooler fan factory error or need to provide extra cooling. Lap top is new, only 3 months old.

    Greeting from Monte *.

    Some models are fanless.
If you hear any noise of fan by pushing the CPU to the maximum, and the laptop is not turned off, the laptop is a model without a fan.

  • Satellite L850-1V0 - Fan error popped up while I was playing a game

Recently, I got an error that displayed so I was playing a game, he said that the cooling fan had a problem and that I should stop it immediately and send it for service.

It's the first time that I had this, I have a program called Speccy that tells me my computer's temperature and all these other things, the temperature is at its normal level and I've never had anything telling me: I had a front fan error.

For safety I changed the battery of balanced ECO which decreased the temperature a bit more, I put my hand on the battery and is not still warm, I can hear the fan and I can feel something out the gills.

Well, it seems like it was only false alarms.

Usually the laptop would shut down automatically in case of high temperature. This is the kind of internal, protection against overheating.

In any case I recommend you monitor the temperature level and keep an eye on the cooling fans.

In addition, check if the new BIOS is available. If the new BIOS has been released, try the update.

  • Re: Satellite L550 - cooling fan suddenly stopped working

About two weeks ago, I placed my laptop down on the ground. When I picked up two minutes later, there was an error on the screen that read something like "there is a problem with the cooling system, please contact your nearest centre of Toshiba. Since then, the cooling fan has failed.

I replaced the fan with a different, which also failed, then maybe the problem is the system not the fan? Is there some settings within the system that allows me to manually turn the fan on and off?

    > I replaced the fan with another
Which means that replace you it with another model?
Well, I think that another model of fan will never work because notebooks are specific products designed for certain series/models only. This allows you to change the t as well as on desktop computers.

In my opinion, you should contact the nearest authorized service provider. Guys can replace the fan and order a new one. If your laptop is under warranty, the repair will be free. :)

  • G62t-350 CTO Notebook PC: broken G62t - 350 CTO Notebook PC cooling fan

I have a 6 yr old G62t - 350 CTO Notebook PC and I am a VERY OLD non-techie. It overheats and goes dormant. I know that the fan is shot because I get an error message saying so. I currently use a "chill mat" to keep this baby running, but I would like to know how to take out and its difficulty. Also, you may need to buy a new fan (?) and, of course, HP (and even Best Buy) say 'we have NO PARTS. " Would be really grateful for the help; older people don't throw away their 'stuff' keep us running forever... If possible. Thank YOU, TimothyT,

A computer is fundamentally different from a model "T". They get obsolete and unusable, so that you can always push a model "T" around town if you can make it work. On a laptop six year, to go on the market of third party to find the parts, but they are available. Best Buy has no idea and no room. They send all repairs laptop for a place in TX and earn money as an intermediary for such things.

First thing you need is the repair:

    Manual

"How-to" for the replacement of the fan is on p. 4-41 to 4-46. This will be a virtual "gut" of the laptop he stripping up to the motherboard and remove the motherboard. It can be done by an amateur who is able to read and follow directions and has a logical mind and memory to keep track of screws and where they are released, so they can be released. The drop-down strip isn't easy, but the real test is winding.

This is the part you need:

GL40 UMA systems (for models 1.1 and 1.2 only) 606573-001

How will I know? Your CPU is a Pentium Dual, which means that it works on the motherboard chipset low-end and it has "integrated" or "UMA" video However, I am fallible, and the intelligent way to go about the repair is to open and remove first and then buy the spare part based on what you already have. Saving a lot of feedback.

Assuming I'm located on the part you need here is:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/HP-Pavilion-G72-227WM-Intel-cooling-fan-heatsink-606573-001-B2-Z3-i3-/152206728276?hash=item23703a5c54:g:380AAOSw0UdXsfLg

You want to use this opportunity to eliminate there all the dust and when you go back you need to use good thermal paste applied correctly. We can find you a video well, no doubt.

Post back if you need help most.

  • Satellite L655-158 - no cooling fan pedestal Grill

    Hi all

Just a quick question, I am repairing a toshiba satellite l655-158 for someone and found the cooling fan grille is blocked.
I took apart and it is just molded plastic on the other side but the fan is located directly above where the grid should be.
It doesn't have the grid on the side to evacuate the hot air, but nowhere to slide fresh of air.

The grill outside, but it looks as if it had not been completed at the factory if that makes sense.

Also the heat sink is attached to the CPU and short cooling fins but does not connect to the GPU along the way that I find a bit strange considering she will work directly on it but does not connect to it and to not provide the GPU with a cooling.

So I guess my question is, is this something supposed to toshiba do or maby a mistake at the factory.

He finds it's the GPU which is the defective part, but looking at these defects is not surprising that the GPU has failed.

Sorry to babble a bit but I just couldn't find any info on the internet.

Any info on this would be a great help.

    Thanks in advance.
    Jamie

    Hello Jamie

To be honest, I can't imagine such errors can occur. You know that every laptop manufacturer produce hundreds of thousands computers laptops and such errors are visible.

Similar thing is on my Satellite A660. Inside, there is place for cooling but the holes are disabled.
I just hope you're good in laptop repair and you will be able to fix a friends laptop. ;)

  • Laptop Pavilion g6 troubled cooling fan

My laptop (1c58dx g6) guard stop and gives me an error message on the cooling fan. The fan has completely stopped working or slowed down a lot. It's more as it comes up for a second and then stops completely for a few seconds again and again. I don't know if that's how the fans usually ruin if they are blocked or not. So, I spent all last night holding my cell phone out to join fan cooling to clean junk out of it and then put it back together again. It's not like there was there to cause problems, but I cleaned to the best of my ability without taking the fan itself out. However, it was without result. The same thing happens again. Do you think that if I took part the fan that I could find and remove the Junk incriminated in the fan, or do you think the problem is something else? If you disassemble the fan itself can help, could you tell me all instructions on remove and put back together, again please?

    Hello @BL00 ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you have some problems of fan and are wondering how to remove it for better cleaning.

Here is a guide who can guide you safely remove the fan: HP Pavilion G6 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service of Guide. You will find the steps begin on page 77.

It might also help to go through this document, but it seems that you already have most of this: reduce the heat inside the PC to prevent overheating.

In fact, you need to replace the fan altogether. References are available in the guide above and you can find them among a wide range of online providers. If your laptop is still under warranty, you can also contact the HP support by phone for parts or service options. You can contact HP Technical Support at 1-800-474-6836 in North America. For all other regions click here.

    Hope this helps!

  • ThinkPad X 220 fan error

    Hello community of Lenovo,

Today my Thinkpad x 220 has stopped working and gives me a fan error. Is anyone able to advise how to solve this problem?

I was able to reboot once since but had no chance once again. Previously I had overheating, problems that might be related (idk).

I checked the connection between the fan and the motherboard already: it is connected propperly.

Other forum posts suggest a supply line by pressing several times the power button for 10-30 seconds (depending on the poster) without sources of power attached. This has not worked.

of @richk has explained elsewhere that it would be maybe due to the fan, (b) a fuse or fan sensors (c) being broken. As he suggests, I checked if the fan until the fan error is reported (by Visual inspection after removal of the keyboard). The fan moves a little bit as if it were to start turning. However, it is not really turn and just drops in the same position.

Unfortunately, I am long out of warranty and cannot but to send my ThinkPad to load for them to tell me that they cannot fix.

Anyone know what is the most likely cause? Replacing the fan will solve the problem? It is better to send to sustain even outside the warranty?

I also read here in the forum that the fan lubrication bearing solved a similar problem for some users. I should try that?

In short: is there hope to get my computer working again or just won an expensive paperweight?

    Any help is appreciated.

    See you soon,.
