BlackBerry Pearl 8110 smartphones cannot copy phonebook in SIM to the phone

For some reason I can't copy the contents of my phone book SIM in the phone book of 'Contacts' I go through the steps listed and it seems that the content is coppied but when I go to the list of Contacts it displays no content. I don't know if I did something wrong or closed dishes went south. I took out the battery and replaced as he tries to restore it to the factory setting, but that doesn't seem to work. I'm under V4.5.0.182

I hope someone can help.

Thank you

John

Hi John1942 and welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums!

Its possible you may have a filter defined in address book on your BlackBerry® smartphone.  In the address book, press the menu key and choose filter.  If there is no boxes checked, remove the check mark, and then check the address book again.

Thank you.

I have a similar problem with my Blackberry Pearl 8110, Desktop Manager 5.01 and Outlook 2003 SP3.

When I try to synchronize my contacts from my Blackberry to Outlook, the process gets thru 'Read in the device address book' 90 and 90 files without problem.  It starts the process following "Treatment Device Address Book" and gets 86 90 files and stops and a pop error message window: [title bar] Intellisync. It has a red circle with 'X' white and says "Unable to read data from application." with an ok button.

I uninstalled Desktop Manager 5.01 twice, deleted the folder Intellisync following "KB11703" with no luck.

Help! I STILL NEED HELP WITH THE QUESTION, I WAS NOT ABLE TO SYNC MY CONTACTS FOR OVER A YEAR NOW!

I couldn't find a solution for this, ANYWHERE so I just decided to fix this problem just upgrade to the new version of the BlackBerry Desktop version 6.0.0.40 software. And now, ALL my contacts synchronize with a problem.

Also from the beginning of this problem and now I have also improved my Outlook 2003 to 2007 and then to 2010.

So I do not know if the combo of doing all this software update fixed the issue of the contact crupt but its market not now and that's what I need.

  • Smartphone blackBerry pearl 8110 txt problem

I had my 8110 stolen a few weeks ago, but got a new a few days ago, everything goes well apart from when I txt punctuation and put into it will jump to the next line and put a capital in place, even if only a few characters have been used on the previous line. I know it's probably a setting somewhere but where? Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear about the stolen phone

Regarding your question, if this was not the case when you originally bought the phone, try a battery Pull:
    1. remove the battery while the phone is turned on
    2. wait a few seconds before inserting it again
    3. wait for the long end of the boot process (takes a few minutes usually)

This clears most of the software problems that occur on the BlackBerry from time to time. You can also use Quickpull, a free application that simulates a battery pull without removing the battery: http://software.crackberry.com/product.asp?id=27660
A battery pull gets lost when using the applications memory and clears minor software errors that creep over time. The blackberry is running an operating system just like your PC is running windows and battery pull is the equivalent of a reboot / restart your computer.

  • Use of Smartphone unlocked blackBerry PEARL 8110 in Europe

AT & T gave me an unlock code for my Pearl a few years ago upon request.  I've never used to unlock the phone, because I went to another telephone shortly after.  The Pearl was just sitting and wait until yesterday when I used the MEPD method to unlock the phone.  I think I've succeeded.  Under 'Advanced Options/SIM Card', everything is indicated as "disabled".  However, it is also said to 'no SIM card valid', and on the main screen, it says that "initialization failed", as well as the AT & T logo.  The phone is apparently connected to the AT & T network, but allows only 'emergency calls '.  The SIM card, I have used over unlocking is a European pre-paid card.  Of course, they have no coverage here, so I do not expect to be able to use the phone with the SIM here.

I plan to travel to Germany next week and to use the Pearl out there.  I don't just want to use my other phone out there (locked to AT & T) and pay their horrendous roaming charges.  Since I've never done this before, I want to assure you that I did really well.  I don't want to leave the plane and be without a working phone.

Does anyone have any advice/comments/suggestions?  Really unlock my Pearl for good?  What I have to use that particular SIM card or I can insert any other SIM card with service in Germany (I have a few others).  Is there anything else that I seemed not or should I do?

    Any help would be appreciated.

If you wanted to test... here in the United States, borrow or guy a cheap Tmobile prepaid SIM.

    You should be fine.

  • BlackBerry Pearl 8100 Smartphones No browser icon

Hiya... I'm in a world of pain...

Sorry - a little background on this...

In 2009 my husband bought me a new Blackberry Pearl 8100 on the internet (he doesn't remember exactly where). I put my sim O2 existing in this document, expecting to be able to access the internet/email, but none were available to me. A simple call to O2 clarified was that one - my sim card Pay & Go and at that time, O2 did not Blackberry web & email on Pay & Go. I use it as a phone for a bit, got irritated (searched internet and emails!) and bought a Samsung Tocco lite which I was using until last week when I discovered that, since last July, O2 were now internet Blackberry on Pay & Go.

So, I'm quite excited about buy a bolt on O2, push my sim in my beautiful Blackberry Pearl, get excited when I see the new icons for Facebook and Google, etc... and then I realize that there is no browser option. No globe icon, nothing. The only way I can see a browser icon if I have the menu button and select "Switch Application". The "phone says 'request', then gives me an option to sign up for Yahoo Messenger. If I hit the 'back' button, the screen is empty. If I accept 'Download', I get: "sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Yahoo."

I have set up my email and they work fine. If I click on the links in the emails, I just get a white screen.

I spoke to O2 who said that "all's fine their end" and there is no reason why I can't find a browser icon. They told me to check the latest Blackberry download so my "phone is updated. So, I installed what I believe to be the latest version, but that had no effect.

A battery pull (Finally, a hundred of them in fact...) has also no effect).

I'm close to launch the thing caught fire in the wall. Please help me save my beautiful little ' call from such a cruel fate... of ideas?

    (OS release: v4.2.193)

    Hello!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you could investigate new update of your BB OS... Here's a process for it:

From a PC, you can install any bundle of BONES to a BB via this procedure:

Note that although written for "reload", it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or recharge - it depends on the OS package you download and install on your PC. You can even use a different OS package carriers simply insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML. remember that you remove from your PC, no matter what other packages devices OS BB as having more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  • Some questions on development on the Blackberry Pearl 8110?

Hello. I have a few questions about the development of java applications on this unit.

Well, asumming my old pearl supports Java...

I have the Eclipse plugin for java installed using the 5.0.0 jre so I think this means that the application works on OS5 and above all, Yes?

Not sure what OS this old Pearl works (I personally don't think it runs OS5?), and if he ran to an older operating system (say OS 4 or less) then my developed apps still work on this unit?

Sorry if these are stupid questions.

    Thank you

"applications developed in the usual Blackberry JRE 5.0.0 run on machines running less than 5.0.0 OS?"

It is more accurate to say - are not supported on.

A few apps, when compiled using the API calls that have not been changed, will work on 'low' operating systems, at least a number of people on the forum (yourself included) have told me they have managed this.  However, I tried it by accident (when I plugged the wrong device to load an application) and a device in brick.  So I wouldn't recommend it, even if it does not work.

"do you mean that if I develop my app in JDE, it works on any device blackberry hosting any level of the operating system?"

JDE versions have the same restrictions - there are versions JDE as there are JRE versions.  I think JDE 4.2.1 and JDE 4.3 are always available, so if you want to develop is a phone which works 4.3, because I think that yours, you could use the JDE-, but it should have the JDE 4.3 or earlier.

You can also upgrade your phone and use Eclipse (which is what I would do).

    Clear now?

    Anyone have any suggestions?

That would be an indicator of voice message from your operator.

If you have a voice mail waiting icon wandering on your home screen:

    • Call your voicemail and clear the message.
    • You can call your BB from another and leave a message. You BB, call your voicemail and clear and delete your messages.
    • If the above fails, with your BB under tension - pull your battery to reset and restart your BlackBerry.
    • Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)
    • Clean and reload your OS.

    Good luck.
