Copy Production to test

I have two Oracle databases on the same server. On the server, there are three folders called u01, u02, u03. Inside each of these folders are two folders with the names of the two databases called cpsprod and cpstest. If I want to make an exact copy of the cpsprod database in the cpstest database I manually copy all the files in each of the three files cpsprod and put in the 3 files from cpstest? I am very new to oracle, so I'm not sure of all the possibilities to do so and we do not want to pay a contractor 10 hours just to make a copy of the database.

It is not trivial and dangerous. In certain circumstances, you can make the Prod DB corrupted. Best method is the "RMAN DUPLICATE".

Please check the base oracle blog: oracle or ORACLE-BASE - duplicate a RMAN with data base in Oracle Database 11 g Release 2 documentation for your version.

I want to copy the missing indexes on a table of database production to database out of production.

The table in the database of the non-production has some missing indexes compared to the production database. What is the best method to do this. ? Is it better to take the last of the index using the method below and create in the target database?

    Select double dbms_metadata.get_ddl('INDEX','INDEX_NAME','UAT_OWNER');

If less number index and index metadata will be fine.

If large number of indices then prefer exp/imp with the INDEX option.

  • Mode of Production and testing of black and white difference in Publication

What is the mode of production and test of b/w difference when a publication is created?

Just to give a bit of history about the usefulness of the Publication of 'Test' Mode... it offers to companies that do not have the capacity to do the test on their production instance without impact on the users of production system of separate test cases. The idea is that you can set on the production instance test users (whose ' CZ: Publication Search Mode' value of the profile option is 'Test') which will see the 'Test' mode Publications, while other users continue to see the current mode of 'Production' Publications.

If you have an instance of separate test where the test system is carried out, there is no reason ever to use the Mode of Publication 'Test '.

  • Import/Export DataPump for refreshing production ERP test

    Hi all

We have 11i Oracle applications running on AIX 5.3ML8 production and test. The production is autonomous with the basic 10.2.0.4 and test is RAC with database version 10.2.0.4.

Now the question is that we intend to update the Test with production every night. We plan to use Datapump Import/Export for that. I just wanted to know from you guys, if any body has a bad experience using this utility with ERP.

    Thank you and best regards,
    Vijay

    Vijay,

I am sensitive on the use of export/import to me because someone told me that with ERP type database we should not use Export/Import, although he was not able to specify the exact reason for this. Y at - it no problem using Import/Export the ERP database refresh?

Using import/export is supported with Oracle Apps database (for the database full exp/imp and certain patterns such as custom). The Apps schema, I think that it is not supported due to the dependencies of the object and the integrity constraints. However, you can open an SR to confirm this with the support of the Oracle.

    Kind regards

  • Replacement ASA - copy Production ASA ASA replacement Config

    Hi all:

I am performing an upgrade on a spare ASA5520 7.2 (1) to 7.2 (2-14). I am trying to copy the configuration of an ASA which is in production, and I would like to replace it with the ASA that I'm improving. I am able to copy the running-config to replace ASA, but the SSL certificate gives me problems. I get and error of... ERROR: The public key contained in the certificate of the device does not match public key of the device configured for trustpoint % trustpointname %. The device certificate is not installed.

I am able to enter in the CLI, but cannot access the device from the ASDM client. Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes the above commands seems well... first of all to reproduce the configuration to the ASA... and then import the certificate to the trustpoint

  • 11.1.2.3.00 recommended to automate the Migration of production to Test

    Hi all.

I would like to migrate the following items of Prod to Test and want to automate completely.

    Shared services

    Manager of Calc

    Planning

    Essbase

    HFM

    EPMA

Can anyone provide a high level of how they would be fully automate all of these objects, including the automation of deployment of applications of EPMA and in what order?

In addition, guidance on what to monitor (i.e. the issues or security) will be greatly appreciated.

The recommended route is to use LCM which has a command line utility, so can be automated, LCM also has the ability to export/import all objects by using a utility.

EPMA also offers a command line utility, so you can automate the deployment.

HFM, you can use the utility to copy app.

The problem you face is that LCM don't really remove it from target to make it work much better when it's a clean environment if you want to source and target to match.

    See you soon

  • Cloning of a machine of production for testing database

    Hello

I tried looking for documentation on the correct way to clone a production MS SQL2000 machine. I know that the PB should be taken down, but I don't know there is more than that. If anyone can point me to some docs, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you

    Christopher a. Sautter

    Tucson, Arizona

You can use VMware Converter to perform the P2V conversion.  This should be pretty easy.  Just make sure that you have database services stopped, if you make a clone "hot."

After that, the best would be to isolate the network from production server.  Depending on the scope of the test and the needs of connectivity, this could be simple or very complicated.

  • Why was able to copy the file "test server" rather than "remote server"?

    Windows 7, Dreamweaver CS5 (v11.0)

Until very recently, the operation Put copied the file on the remote server. Now it copies on the test server. I would like to change it to copy it to the remote server.

Thank you, David. Yes, the configuration is correct.

I stumbled upon the resolution. The icon of the right on the line Get and Put is "Expand to show local and...'." Click on this icon and then click on the 'Remote server' icon, which modifies the list of remote files files. If you want to see the files of tests, click the "Test Server".

  • Updating of data base of production for test - how to clean the existing test env

    All,

    My environment is

Test and Production databases are two nodes in RAC environment

    Oracle - 10.2.0.4.0 version
    OS - RHEL5
    80 GB production database size

We need to update the database of production test environment. Complete objects, etc. need to be updated.
We have a datapump export from the production environment. With this release of export of the production environment, I need to import in the test environment.

So far, I imported with this kind of dump of the fresh database only.
Now, we already have objects, data, sitting in the test environment. How to clean the existing test environment and refresh the discharge of export production datapump.

I thought dropping all tablespaces in test (off system, sysaux, cancel and temp). But not able to drop some storage space, it is revealing that the index is available in other storage spaces, errors etc. of dependence.

Which is the best method to clean the existing test database. Management is not interested in the fall of the test database and recreate.

Why not just drag the users that you are refreshing? DataPump will create users with all the privileges, objects, data, etc. of prod.

  • Split production vs. test WHO alerts

    Hello
I'm trying to understand how to configure notifications of production, the systems not vs. I know that I can create rules for prod vs test, but the only option I see is to send an email or not. Is there a way to specify if I want to send and E-mail just vs. I won't really be paginated on any issue out of production.

See Metalink Note: 333104.1 how to configure separate Notification plans in EM 10 G based on targets / gravity

  • Copy elements 13 test

I am a beginner and can't figure out how to import individual events or some albums AND titles and/or names of iPhoto to items in the folder.

    Would appreciate any suggestions.

The best way is to export them from iPhoto, put exports where you want to keep and use 'from files and folders"to import into the PSE. When you use the command export iphoto, you get a window offering you a choice of what information to transfer the photos themselves.
