Copyright question

I own everything I create with Adobe products (especially in photoshop and illustrator?) if I want to post everything I do, in YouTube for example, my work belongs to adobe? I must ask permission to publish? or I can do what I want with it? If I use it on a YouTube video... I can monetize the video?

Thanks in advance!

  • BlackBerry 10 history Maker copyright question

    Hello

I want to put a video (commercial in my book), I put together using story Maker on YouTube. I did two ads already, but I recorded my own music for adults. For my new video, I like to use one of the tracks sample provided on the application of the machine in history. I found no information of the copyright on these songs, I wonder if I'll run into any problems if I post the video as it is. If I need permission to use the music, who do I have to get permission, and how can I communicate with them? Thank you!

I'm going out on a limb with a guess, but if BlackBerry has provided music thanks to his application and that you are able to just throw the song to any video you save, we can assume that the music is in the public domain. BlackBerry would not include any music for which you don't have full permissions to share.

Just a guess, but a pretty good, I think.

  • Metadata Copyright question

Hi, I use Lightroom 4. I entered my copyright (basically just my name with in mind the copyright symbol) at the bottom of the metadata in the Library tab section. Can I ask this copyright for all the images in the film downstairs in Lightroom at the same time? I see the sync button but I want only to sink to the other images copyright. I don't want to change anything else in the metadata. I also see a selection for admission to the status of author. If I enter my smbolshe just copy choose copyrighted?

    Thnaks, John

You can add it to the set on the grid [g] and then by selecting all and enter the information in the same field.

In general, during the application of metadata to multiple images using grid, not the film.

Yes, you must select the option of copyright also.

  • Question about monetization/copyright

After an hour and redirected support. Basically, someone gave me a link and told me to ask here. I'm trying to monetize a YouTube video. It is essentially a video game called gameplay "gears of war: Ultimate edition." I already have a video that is monetized (out of 86 views k) and is not a link to the game. How the partnership and the monetization of works is if I have one approved can I monetize other videos as well. When it came to my videos of gears, it only gives me the opportunity to monetize them. I was just wondering if Microsoft allows people to monetize a video that contains the set of one of their games? I looked everywhere for this answer. And I hope that I have come to the right place. The reason why I ask also is to rule out the possibility of copyright with Microsoft issues.

    Hello

This isn't an issue that we are dealing in this community.

There is information on the contents of the game in the copyright link:

Maybe the question seems not so smart, and stupid

    Hi boyans,.

First of all, don't do this until you have fully checked and confirmed the authorization (and I would like to personally in writing).  You can consult a lawyer specializing in copyright and patent to be on the right side (even after doing the following).

Please, start here: http://www.microsoft.com/about/legal/en/us/copyright/default.aspx, but it is much more on this site which is linked and should help - including a link contact us at the bottom of this page where you should be able to get more information on the details, you don't think otherwise.

  • Monuments public and copyright in question of logo

Someone asked me to make a logo for them.  They wanted me to draw a vectorized version of Seattle Space Needle, as part of the logo.

Are there copyright issues if you work off one of my photos, I use Illustrator to draw the Space Needle and use it as an element in their logo?

This is not quite correct, the only country where this applies is the France and which is after the date to which the law protecting the architecture has been implemented, which I think is from 1995.

The law it is that the design of the building is copyrighted by the architect in creating. The publication or sale of photographs or likeness of it is protected and the architect must grant permission to use, but the photo is the property and copyright of the photographer.

I work in France and one of the engines that created this law, and they pay me for my photography and the use of it.

How it works, I'm owner of the photograph that they only have the rights to their conception of the building if they want to use my photos or have the publications I contribute use the images that they have to get my permission, simple, but if I want to sell to a commercial entity for a product or an advertising service
I need their permission. They will probably insist on a fee or tax, or more than likely use, commercial entities need for repairs architectural as a way to be considered a source as possible, they exchanged probably a commission fee. That would be much more than a tax, if it's something fishy response will simply not. If it was used for a poster to say for a concert the answer is probably yes, and should be free of charge.

Now to the laws of the American copyright which has since 1991, protection in the same way for architects, you need their permission in the form of a press release, but if the image comes from the public property, or property you are allowed to enter and you take a picture of the building or structure or place are not copyright protected because it is deemed in the public domain and falls under the fair use Act. Thus, the building in the United States would have built after 1991 and you need to be on the property in this case people who own the Skyneedle.

In other words you can use it. As photographing the Empire State Building.

But and this is a big but, you can't use the image or likeness to indicate that it is officially a part of the Space Needle, event or whatever it is sponsored unless you obtain a license from the owners and operators of the building, structure or place.

So you can use it but you can't give the impression that it is officially connected to the Space Needle, which I think would be very had to do.

For example, the Eiffel tower is protected but only when light up at night and it is the lighting designer who holds the copyright.

BTW, the laws are pretty well unenforcible when it comes to benchmarks, what a particular issue of the circumstances where money would be wise for the purposes of the Act.

Also in France if you're promoting architecture or design they actually consider the right to apply.

  • Question about credit/copyright.

I'm not sure this is the right place to ask, but I don't know were elsewhere.

I did a huge design in illustrator for a reason of a zoo, all in vector. The design is almost finished, but need a few finishing touches. My client now has a company that wants to buy his product with my design. The problem is that the company wants to make changes in design, using its own designers, before purchasing the final product. I'm not sure of the amount of changes they want to do, but I think that I can't take credit for the design if it changes a lot.

I'm looking for some advice here. I've been designing for only 2 years and this is one of the biggest projects I had so far, so for me, it's a big deal to add to my portfolio and take credit for it. How other designers go with situations of this kind? Should I charge a fee to give my credit? I am, however, getting paid for the design, but I would really like to take credit for it too, after all this hard work...

Thank you very much for your advice in advance.

I get nothing, just pay for the hours it took at this point... I'm still waiting for me that says something... the design is still in my possession... my client has no right on my design... They do not have the original files...

    Now we are getting somewhere.

Well, the verbal agreement was I do all of the design, not only a model, they print it and sell it.

The word of the device (and unfortunate) here is "oral". If you haven't written anything (a signed estimate that clearly defines the work being controlled) - BIG mistake - you have little to stand on. (Technically, oral contracts are binding. «(But he always comes back to WHO, if anyone, can prove what has been agreed orally).» This "customer" can simply bail out on you. But you have the advantage of having the work; and the 'customer' has no right to its use at all.

At this point, I would like to send the 'customer' a letter polite, but brief, to-the-point and commercial showing:

    • What was the original agreement, including the scope of the intended use.
    • That it was not a work-for-hire and that, by the practice standard for the industry, you do not make the copyright to your original illustrations.
    • What it was that nothing stated in the original agreement while allowing a third party to create works derived from the original. (Understand, part of your "immaterial compensation" for a project like this is its presence in the main points of sale.) Substandard alteration by another person effectively reduced your compensation "agree to the '.)
    • If the 'client' now wants out of the agreement, you should be compensated for the work done so far. (Often previously stipulated and is called a cancellation fees, usually 50% of the originally agreed tax, but it may be something appropriate. Conditions of cancellation costs generally indicate that the Group of the cancellation does not rights on the work in progress).

Personally, before or immediately after (depending on how damaged the relationship is already), I would consult my lawyer. This letter carries a lot more weight when sent on the stationery of the firm, and it allows you to stay out of the fray so that you can get with payment for work. If (as I suspect) you don't have a relationship with a law firm, I would tend to that immediately. You may very well end up just by are not paid for this project and keeping the work - live and learn. (We've all been there... "I could tell you stories.) If you do not end up "eating" of it, at least you have a decent piece you already know some of its marketing possibilities - and you even know some of the potential customers to replace the current one, that you could lose in this.

The lessons learned, this should include:

    • The need for a legal link in case you have this need. That is a cost not much. This does not mean that you must pay a charge regular withholding. Find a honest and trust lawyer interested in the treatment of such triviality for you on a basis as needed. Most of these problems are solved with a simple letter "we mean business". Understand, when it comes down to brass tacks, lawyers get an important part of the colony in the framework (if not all) of their fees. Get 2/3 of your scheduled payment is better than nothing, but it is best to avoid such difficulties with the routine and fair trade practices.
    • A basic element of the routine and fair commercial practices is the need for standard business forms. You should have at least a "one-size-fits-all" standard quote on what language simple and direct form sets general conditions about copyright law, cancellation, etc.. You may need several pieces of presentation "boilerplate" prepared in advance for several types of projects, you take several times. If you do not already have a solution, I would advise you to FileMaker Pro (it's affordable, powerful, easy to learn, use and customize the database program). You can use it to build your estimates, invoices, customer base and a lot of other things, including solutions for data-driven projects. FileMaker has become my favorite "graphic program."
    • Don't sign ANYTHING without an agreement.
    • NEVER tolerate non-payment.
    • Projects involving a lot of time may require an agreement with steps; non-refundable additional payments due to the completion of specific "milestones".

  • Questions of copyright law

    Hi all

A work project I made some sketches of statues in my region of France. I want to incorporate into a creation of logo and wonder if it's risky or not.

The statues are in public places, and have been created by artists loooong gone now...

Is there someone in the know on matters of this nature or maybe a solid source I could look for more concrete information on the subject?

I appreciate any help/info you can offer me.

    Thanks in advance!

Creation of original images of drawing and painting programs. The best way to get the images is to create them in a drawing or another image creation program. In doing so, however, it is best to start from scratch rather than someone of another creation. Even if an image is significantly changed, the new image may infringe copyright in the first image is a derivative work. »

Windows® XP file Association problems? Copyright 2003 - Doug Knox? his files work?

It is wrong to go all that is your problem.

I have instructions to run the Doug Knox fix as a copy/paste of my notes, I'll never have to type it once again, which means that (at least for the EXE usual file association problem), I like to use, but we don't know what your question is.  In fact, the majority of the stuff I answer here is just a copy and paste, I have fixed some things so many times...

Here's what I have copy and paste about afflicted EXE file associations:

Looks like your Windows file associations have to dispose. This means that XP doesn't know what to do with files by looking at the file extension (.exe for executables)., .doc for MS documents, etc.

If you don't have it you, something done for you - most likely malware.

Go to this site WWW by Doug Knox:

    http://www.dougknox.com/

On the left, click on the Win XP fixes, file Association fixed and read the instructions at the top of the page.

Download the EXE File Association Fix on your desktop, unzip the file and apply it by following the instructions at the top of the page, then to restart and test.

Run the following scans for malware, and then fix any problems:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

  • Questions on Sansa Clip + units purchased in different stores: there are slight differences?

    Hello all-

My spouse and I bought a SanDisk Sansa Clip + 4 GB in different stores the same day.  We intend to keep only one and the packaging is slightly different, so after a brief purchase background, I have some questions as to the differences between the two in order to solicit advice as to who to keep and which you want.

    CONTEXT OF PURCHASE:

Two units have been sold at the same price, both have the same UPC and the return of the policies/guarantees for two stores seem to be identical.  The color of each is the same (black) and the exercise of copyright for packing at the rear is 2010 for both, that is: (c) 2010 SanDisk Corpation.  We have not broken the seal on each box and do not want to facilitate the return of one.

    What is different?

I bought my unit to H.H.Gregg here in the United States, and the number above the same UPC's:

    SDMX18R-004GK-C57

    And here's the UPC number:

    80-56-09564 - 004 G

My spouse bought at best buy and the number above the UPC:

    SDMX18R-004GK-A57B

    And here is the UPC:

    80 56-09570 - 004 G

In addition, those bought at H.H.Gregg indicates 'Software Rhapsody', and the Rhapsody logo under 'quick start guide' in the column of "Content" on the left side of the box while one bought at best buy Rhapsody No mention outside of the box.  And with the exception of a white banner with "Sansa Clip + 4 GB" on the face at the bottom of the box purchased at best buy, the type of packaging, graphics and colors look identical.  Both made in China.

    MY QUESTIONS:

1 - does anyone know of any slight difference between the two?

    2. that contains software Rhapsody and the other and if so is the inclusion of this software an additional benefit?  (Never used Rhapsody, but my understanding is that it is similar to iTunes?)  All opinions on this topic is welcome, although I've never used iTunes and maybe not a similar service.  The software takes more space and it is difficult to remove if I don't want to?)

    3. I suspect the above number ending by "-A57B" (i.e. with a ' B' versus without him) indicates Sansa units shipped to the and sold through Best Buy, where the 'B '.  Is this correct?

    4. However, the numbers which could describe the difference between two low, the middle parts which are "- 09570 -" and "- 09564-"? "»  Is the '- 09570 -"a model a little later?  (Again, the "-09570-" is that of HHGregg, without any indication of Rhapsody.)

    5. who would keep you, or is it just a case of flip a coin?

Sorry for nit-picky issues, but I recall reading some interest in the version material different numbers with the other units of Sansa and the benefits of one over the other and I was wondering if there might be a hardware update version at play here as well.

    Thanks for your time! :-)

    =================================================

    Changed to correct typo:

The first issue of the unit to buy at best buy should have a 'B' added at the end, as I was writing it under 'MY QUESTIONS'.  It is:

    SDMX18R-004GK-A57B

    =================================================

    Edit #2 to fix typo:

    "column" vs "colum".

Interesting, thank you for researching it! I tried before that my post came but dry.

Until then the objective eye differences?  I would be particularly interested in distinctions of subjective performance between the tuner chips, if any, that the radio will receive a daily use.  Also welcome all favor referring to other physical differences such as brightness/contrast screen.

Still, I guess there is no way to distinguish between the two by the package box numbers and that a practical diagnosis is necessary?

Thanks to all the other replies, in particular the ideas of Rhapsody.

(Incidentally, I'm curious to know if there are differences in sound quality - dynamic, range, volume, all - between the Clip + and Sansa alays such as the "rocket" or same-track playback on each indistinguishable?)

    Thank you!

    JVR

JVR, I don't think that there should be no difference in performance between them. Most likely the changes have occurred due to a different provider offering a better price on a part of SanDisk. My two readers Clip + the two appear identical in every way. And insofar as comparing them to the "rocket", I have two rockets as well, and they seem to everyone to play and hear the same way, at least using the Sansa firmware.
