  Hello, I just finished the LabVIEW Core1 online training, that came with the purchase of LabVIEW 2014. I am VERY new in the world of NEITHER. I bought a Simulator Instrument OR model No. 183913C-01 Rev: 1. I am trying to establish communication with this Simulator and not having much luck. I connect the Simulator to my laptop via RS232 to USB Keyspan peripheral, because my laptop is not a serial connection port. It shows to be on Com4. I think I put the dip-switches correctly. I switch 8 G Mode value and GPIB address the value 2 (switch 2 is activated, all the others are off). I searched online for a demonstration, but nothing have mounted. I found a few messages Simulator here but they were not the model I have. I don't know if I should use GPIB or serial connection for this thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  
  

• SIT: Settings of Inline of Matlab: Simulation Environment & remote target

  Hi all

  When I inline in a Simulink model parameters, and when I run it in the SIT Simulation environment, it's as if they would not have been treated in inline mode. Each block of the model appears.

  And when I try to launch it on a remote target (PXI-RT controller), the blocks that interest me are present, the constants that I put in the workspace are disappearing.

  Hello!  A couple of things come to mind.  First of all a upgrade you to the latest BIOS available?  It's the first thing, 2nd if you did update the BIOS or not, even the BIOS recognizes the new processor?  It seems that the Phenom II X 4 is the highest supported processor.

• Desktop HP Paviion A6220N: question-key board with digital lock desktop HP Pavilion model A6220N.

  When I have my PC reboot/start digital keypad lock key is always returned in the condition WE.  Then I have to manually reset the locking key.  How can I solve this problem, so whenever I start the system that the key will be locked?

  I saw the button click to run older versions of the programs, but now I can not find.   How can I get my computer to run older versions of programs.  Specifically, I designed a website on my old desk and this program, Yahoo Sitebuilder will not work on my new computer, when I downloaded Sitebuilder to my new HP - or do I have to buy new software to do this job.

  You can try the program compatibility to see if this will help with the delivery of the program.  Go to start / "search programs and files".  In the Find box type program compatibility.  This will bring up the program.

• Recovery for Pavilion Desktop PC disk model a676c

  My computer has been acting recently so I decided to do a recovery for all back the way he came. I had a set of recovery disc I made a long time ago, and when you are installing it stopped at half way through and wouldn't let me complete the recovery process. I now have a computer that will not work and need to find a new set of recovery disc for my computer again.

  I searched on the HP site, and although it shows my computer (Pavilion a676c) it does not list a set of recovery discs can I order to reinstall my computer.  I search the Web without any luck finding the recovery for my computer disc.

  If anyone knows where I can find these I would greatly appreciate your help. Right now I have a computer that I need to get running to access all my saved data.

  I spent by the procedure of how create the DLL of simulink models http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/D70E74FDA37CD8E486257990000603A0 the and have not been able to successfully build the DLL for my model.

  I installed Visual Studio 2008 and I can see the Relatime Veristand workshop added to matlab. However, I get the below error.

  (1) have you configured MATLAB to use the compiler to MSVC ++ 2008? If not, then just type mex - configure in the MATLAB command window and follow the printed instructions.

  (2) open Windows command prompt and type % NIVERISTAND_ROOT, and then press ENTER. The call to this environment variable returns C:\VeriStand? If this is not the case, then please add this environment with the value of C:\VeriStand variable to your system and restart the PC. • Permission denied error when you use the Matlab script

  I have the following simple running a Matlab script in Labview.

  K = 5;
  Matrix = randn (4,4);
  matlab.io.saveVariablesToScript ('Parameters.m', {'K', 'Matrix'})

  the last command saves the variables 'K' and 'Matrix' in the m-settings file that I can then use to load the settings 'K' and 'Matrix' to a 'Control Design and Simulation Model'.

  When I run the now from Matlab everything works fine. When I run this LabVIEW so I get the following error:

  LabVIEW: An error has occurred during execution of the script. Error message from the server?: Error using matlab.io.saveVariablesToScript
  Parameters.m: Could not open the file: permission denied.

  I use Matlab 2015 and LAbview 2015 in a 64-bit windows computer 7.

  Any help would be really appreciated.

  For those who have the same permission denied errors, I found the solution.

  I had to specify the current working directory in the matlab script (this is the directory to which you saved your LAbview VI).

  For example, if you have saved your labview vi to C:\Example_Folder

  then you must add the following command in your matlab script node before the command that causes the error

  CD (' c:/Example_Folder')

• Problem with Simulink model dll running on target RT

  Hello!

  At the beginning I specify software and hardware that I use:

  LabVIEW 8.5

  Simulation Interface Toolkit 4.0.0

  Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0

  MATLAB 7.4.0 (R2007a)

  NEITHER cRIO-9014

  At first, I did a simple Simulink model (Sine generator, gain and an outdoor sink), then I started with vi empty and abandoned command digital for the gain and the waveform for the sine table. I grabbed SIT Connection Manager and that you have chosen Simulation Environment case. Then I loaded a template file, the mapped controls and indicators. Everything worked like a charm. Problems started when I tried to turn on an RT target. Maybe I'll explain step by step what I did and after the error at the end.

  1. I created a dll from a MATLAB simulink model file. I selected in time real workshop one C language and target to "nidll.tlc". The I compiled without error.

  2. I entered LabVIEW SIT Connection Manager and changed the host execution target in real time. File browser has popped up and I selected the dll already made my template file.

  3. in Add target devices on window, I chose 'existing or peripheral target' and I chose in the other menu in time real CompactRIO. There was my compactrio system, I chose it and LabVIEW began to search for devices.

  4. after that, I clicked the "Ok" button in the SIT connection manager.

  5. I clicked the run button before my vi file panel and LabVIEW began deployment.

  And here the deployment failed with the following error message:

  Deployment of 192.168.1.2 (parameters target successfully deployed)
  Deployment compatOpenFileOperation.vi (5.35 K)
  Deployment of SIT copies values from Replay on Inports.vi (10,96 K)
  Deployment of SIT expand newspapers Signal Names.vi (4.99 K)

  I tried to do everything once again and got a little different error message:

  Deployment of common access to specific Path.vi (22.25 K) path
  Deployment of SIT runtime DLL query.vi
  Could not download SIT runtime DLL query.vi
  LabVIEW: Unable to load the shared library SITs.out:TaskRunTimeInfo:E on the device target RT.

  What I am doing wrong? Any ideas? I will be extremely grateful for the ideas!

  SIT 4.0 does not support VxWorks targets as your cRIO. SIT 5.0 was the first version to have any level of support for this.

• Old Instrument NOR Simulator

  Hi all. I have an OLD NI instrument Simulator. It is so old, that I'm not still able to use the NI instrument Simulator Wizard. I called for the support and the technician was more useful however, whenever I run the wizard, it opens and alarm that reads "there was an error in location of the simulator of the Instrument OR." Make sure that the equipment is connected to this computer and in Setup mode. I have the 38-page manual that goes to this device. Simulator model number is #183913C-01. I am able to use NI MAX and use VISA Open Test Panel and run commands from there. The challenge is, I have to enter each command, whenever I want to use. I was hoping someone here knows these older model simulators. I posted a question here when I first bought the unit but was not familiar with the operation of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  If you have the Control Design and Simulation Model, we already have fully functional examples on this subject. Please open the finder example and go in "control and Simulation > monographs > Process Control > Horizontal cylinder and tank with level control. or just open it directly from the file system:

  C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW 2011\examples\Control and Simulation\Case Studies\Process Control\Horizontal Cylinder\horizontal cylinder non-linear reservoir with level control.vi

  Now, notice that it is a "horizontal cylinder tank. If you have a typical tank, you need to change the equation that is solved.

  Lol stream mapping does not determine the order of execution.  In parallel mode, the three models receive identical entries of the PCL.  These entries are based on the previous iteration of the system.  The outputs of the model of the iteration (N-1) update the PCL at the beginning of the iteration (N), and these updates are available as inputs of the model during the iteration (N).

  In your case:

  Check 1

  Write A for model 1, model 1 run and written was ' to PCL

  Tick 2

  Model 2 Gets A' starting from PCL, runs and writes A "to PCL

  Tick 3

  Model 3 Gets A "PCL, performs and writes A" ' to PCL

  If this is not desirable, you should put the standard models of the category of the order of execution under the Simulation models in System Explorer.  This makes the outputs of the model available on other models in the same iteration of the PCL.  Note, there is no output model available for the rest of the system until the next iteration of the PCL.
