  • I ran CHKDSK, the report tells me I have problems with the file system, usn journal. ___

I ran CHKDSK, the report tells me that I have problems with the sys file. I ran CHKDSK/F, it is said it fixed the problem but I ran CHKDSK again and it shows that the same listed the issues.

    Describe how you run chkdsk.

That is what the report said: you have problems with the sys file?

CHKDSK examines the disk space and use of the disk for the table of allocation of files (FAT) and NTFS file systems. CHKDSK provides information specific to each file system in a situation report. The report shows the errors found in the file system. If you run chkdsk without the /f on an active partition command line option, it can report errors because it cannot lock the drive. You should use chkdsk occasionally on each disk to check for errors.

If you run chkdsk from a command prompt while Windows is running, it can report errors or it may not report errors - and it may report different
Errors each time you run.  If this is the case, it could just be the way you run chkdsk.

Here's how Microsoft explains this observation:

"... CHKDSK may report that the disc is damaged, even when there is no
current real corruption. This can happen if NTFS happens to modify
areas of the disc on behalf of some programme activities that CHKDSK is
review at the same time. To check a volume correctly, the volume
must be in a static state, and the only way to ensure that the State is
to lock the volume. CHKDSK only locks the volume when /F or/r (which
involves the 'F') is specified. For example, you may need to run CHKDSK more than
time so that it can complete all the steps in read-only mode. »

If you run chkdsk from a command prompt, you are not the necessary static state and you can encounter errors "when no real corruption is present. This is how it works when you use this way.  Any changes made to a NTFS file system modifies the USN Journal.  If you are not in a static state, your USN change Journal probably all the time, so what you see (says something like that) can be quite normal.

Two ways to ensure that you are in a static state is to run chkdsk from the Recovery Console or to schedule a chkdsk to run the next time that the system
Restart by answering Yes to the question:

Would you want to check this volume to be the next time the system restarts?

If chkdsk reports errors when running in a static state, the errors should be investigated, resolved or explained.  This may take several
chkdsk runs all of the issues and some problems cannot be resolved by chkdsk.

If chkdsk runs the next time the system is restarted, the activity and the result will be displayed in the application event log.  Look in the Application log for
Winlogon events and a source have the date and the duration nearby time chkdsk.

It is in fact a chkdsk additional reading if you want to learn about it and it will explain everything you see and why your expectations exceed reality.

  • Windows 8 KB3000850 update fails to update due to the corruption of system files in MSDTC.log

    Greetings,

I seem to have a serious problem with corruption of system files. And before anyone suggests, I ran the SFC and MARIKEL, can repair corruption. Corruption occurs in the MSDTC.log file and causes the update to KB3000850 to not settle. I know that it is the source of the problem, because I checked in the CBS. In addition, my OneDrive has problems with commissioning. Stuck it doing. No idea if they are related. I tried to do a system restore to a restore point that several days ago, and he almost killed my computer. Somehow he damaged a file critical and would not start Windows, update the system would not work because it claims that the drive has been locked, he tried claiming my recovery media was not valid (it was originally windows 8 CD I used to install from), and finally I was able to get Windows to recover using the tool to restart system available on the CD. After reinstallation of updates, problems persisted. I don't know how to deal with this type of file corruption. Could someone please help.

If you nead the SFCdetails, I can post them.

I got exactly the same problem with the MSDTC.log. I finally just gave up any attempt to install the update. The tendency to blame the problems with this update on Avast (that I have not installed) have obscured the fact that there is something in this update that wreaks havoc on many computers Windows 8.1.

  • The location of the file TestStand 2012 report variable

    Hello

TestStand 2010 SP1, I have the "path to the report file' as one of the column in the database by using the RunState.Report.Location.  He worked until I upgraded to TestStand 2012.  The RunState.Report.Location is always empty.  I also tried to use the RunState.Root.Locals.ReportFilePath, but I get an error that it is an unknown variable when you connect to the database.  Even to remove the in the expression of path of file below, there is no difference.

I use the following report file path expression:

    "C:\\TSReports\\------_Report [] [] [USE]" _.".

Which variable contains the path of the report file in TestStand 2012.

I have not tried, but RunState.Report.Location can work if you set the new discussion of the report and the database on False (assuming that the report is the first in the list) so you can be sure that the report was generated before you check this value.

You must set set it up > result treatment > show more Options to see the options for new discussion.

This should give access to the report path is displayed (the one with the check mark in the display column). However, in TS 2012, you can have any number of reports.

There is a new recall, GetReportFilePath, you can add to your sequences to get the paths of the report they are committed. You can store the paths in a total station or varying lengths for use later, if necessary.

  • Why the report designer opens all of my excel files?

My application uses vi in the report generator toolkit to continually save data to an excel spreadsheet (in fact, several worksheets in the same file). It works fine, however, the problem comes when we try to open/view all log XL files previously created (or _any_ other file XL by the way), because it is basically impossible to read the file due to the constant blinking/flashing XL writes in the log file. If you make the mistake of close open files, the firm application of logging (may be able to intercept this error, but didn't think of it yet). Also, when you start closing records in XL, it seems that he opened to all (or almost all) of files in at least the log folder, but in other (some) places as well. The bottom line which is the only way we found to process view, all the files of log XL is to stop the application - which is not really acceptable.

I'm under LabView 2011, in development (OS Win7) and executable mode distributed (Win Server 2008 R2 OS) and see the same thing. I searched the internet and OR support site hi/lo for clues, but if none of them worked (XLSTARTUP, etc.).

I have several other applications that use log files, and in all cases we can open/close the files of active log (read-only) with no problems. Does anyone have an idea of what could happen here and how to fix it?

    Thank you

    Mark-san

    Charlie,

Well, I thought to use scripture to the SS... but I have not seen an easy way to manage multiple worksheets. Would need a separate file for each worksheet?

Although I love the .csv format since it is essentially text (readable), I think the TDMS format may be better suited due to the structure of the channel - think I can use one channel for each worksheet (?). But can I open a TDMS (read-only) file then it is written to, and then create the desired output of Excel (snapshot) from there?

  • error file name of report with the Chinese Date format

    Hello

I see an error in the DUT report stage writing in the standard template files.  This step is calling the API method save on the Runstate.Report object.

This problem occurs on computers using localization in Chinese with the date in the name of the report file.

Is this a known issue?  Is it possible to change the name of the file before calling the method above to eliminate the problem?

    Mike,

You have the ability to recognize characters multi-byte enabled? Please navigate to configure"Station and select the location tab. There should be a checkbox to recognize multibyte characters. This box is checked? Otherwise, try to check the box and re-run your movie file.

Please let me know the results of this test. Thank you!

  • Method of Report.Save, the report has been made in a new path, but why is the empty file?

    Hallo,

I have a problem to save the report file in a new way.

In my code, I used the Runstate.Report.Save(newpath, overwrite, 0) method to save the report.

And after the excution of the test, I can find the file of report in the right place, but if I open it, it's empty, I mean, there's nothing in this report.

Someone has an idea? Where is the problem? And what I could do?

    Thank you!

    Cabio

    Hi Cabio,

Before answering your question, I would like to let you know that you can configure the path to the report file in the report file path tab report options.  You can choose from several options, including by specifying an expression that is customized for the report path.  This will allow you to customize where the report is saved without changing code.

If this isn't meeting your needs, the problem you're likely to have is that you access report until the report is actually produced.  To access the report object after it has been populated, replace the ProcessCleanup callback, which runs after the report has been generated.  (see the example of navigation PreUUTCallback for an example of substitution of a reminder.

Note: if you use TestStand 2012, this method will not work unless you configure Report Builder for not using a new thread.  You can configure this option in the treatment of dialogue by selecting the checkbox options more results.  If you do not want to use a new thread, you can access the report by changing the sequence of AddUUTReportAndSave in ReportGen_ATML.

I tried to uninstall/features of the program but could not find the path of the windows folder. Google app is detained in \User\AppData\Local\Temp\65B3A9~1\ that is not in my temp folder. There is no Recorder program called iso (pushisher alex freiman) that I don't recognize cannot remove or delete.  Any suggestions to remove the wire corrupted in r/bin. I had to re - install windows again, but when I hit install it says 'Save Temp files' is the last thing I want. Is this normal. Save and delete the temporary files? McAfee says not an infection and was unable to help him.

    Need help, thank you
    Charles
