  Since we don't know what the 'someone' has done on your computer - except that it was false and Bad - try a system restore. You use the wrong command for the restoration of the system.   In Robohelp, when you click the glasses or enter Ctrl + W, a preview of the active help topic window is supposed to open. When I do that, update is removed from the application, but no preview window opens. I tried closing and reopening of Robohelp; When it does work, I rebooted.

  August 10, my flash has crashed when I was with google chrome, then all of a sudden, yahoo Messenger is wobbly. Yesterday I did all these steps and this time I saw came error window "missing windows component, flash.ocx". I went to Flash via the Control Panel, and of course, my ActiveX went awol. Then I got using IE9.  Instant yahoo Messenger WORKS FINALLY! And I got the smiley face on the login window animation, BUT I can't use it in Mode without failure.  Login window won't be developed in Normal mode.  Is there something I have to toggle to open in Normal Mode?  I have this blue and yellow shield on it. I did the thing of Mr. fixit and there he had set for a few minutes, then she came back.  In the said detailed report something hidden icon got corrupted and something to rebuild the icon cache...

  This had already happened with another server (also W2003 DC), but the hardware was completely different; Unfortunately, I wasn't able to solve this year here.

  I finally found the guilty service.

  It was pcmonitor monitor/remote control software. Once I stopped it is service vmware converter could get the capacity of the physical drives.

  It is rather curious because I made several servers P2V conversions using this software (so far the last one two weeks ago - the difference between that server and this one was that the first was not a domain controller).

  Hopefully this thread will help others in the future.

  After that I don't know what happened.  All my desktop icons are now Adobe icons in place.   that is The Firefox icon is now replaced by an icon of Adobe.  It is the same for several other desktop program icons. (QuickTime, chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.)

  When I try to open the program by clicking on it, I get the above message.

  I went to the site of help from Adobe and read a complex string of instructions, including

  words like '% pdf', "DWROD" and, for me, other nonsensical words and phrases.

  Needless to say that the instructions were no help.

  I installed a windows 32 bit 7 OS several weeks ago on my workstation Futitsu-Siemens and followed the instructions on the HP Wizard to try to install the HP Deskjet 990c printer driver for my HP 6122 printer. According to the HP Wizard, the only way to do is to update the list of printers by clicking on the "Windows Update" button in the dialog "add a printer".  I clicked on this button several dozen times in recent weeks, and every time I get the message "Windows could not get a list of devices from Windows Update. Try again later.

  I installed a windows 32 bit 7 BONES of several months on my HP laptop and the printer list updated without a hitch to include many more HP printers that are on my computer Futitsu-Siemens including HP 990c.

  What should I do?

  Here's what I found my system which is an Z210 64 HP running windows7. I just updated my Bios to v1.35

  What I did to get the update to work once and what I have to do each time to add another printer by using the Update window.

  1. open (Ctrl-Alt-Del) Task Manager

  2. click on tab of abuse, then Services button (bottom-right)

  3. under the name to find "Windows Update".

  4. right click "Windows Update" and select stop. do not close

  5. open the Exploper window and browse to C:\Windows

  6 delete the folder "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution".

  7. go back to served, right click on "Windows Update", and then select start

  Now the "Windows Update" button should work. For me I have to do every time I have to install a printer that requires me to use windows update

• I have a 64-bit system running Windows 7. I could not get the AutoPlay to open whenever I insert a CD or a DVD.

  I've been looking for a solution for several weeks now. Many people seem to have the same problem. But no one has yet been able to solve the problem.

  First of all, let me clarify the problem explicitly:

  In the Add Printer Wizard: "Windows could not get a list of devices from windows update"

  Specifically, the problem is that Windows Update *broken* in the Add Printer Wizard. (Windows Update, otherwise works fine. But not in the Add Printer Wizard.)

  Find a workaround to add the printer, which mostly does not work what I have read, would be only to solve the secondary problem of the addition of this printer. Except, it would not solve the main problem which is Windows Update *broken* in the Add Printer Wizard.

  Details:

  I have been setting up three new PC running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I had to add an old LaserJet 5if connected to a former print server. I created the IP Standard port, then clicked on the "Windows Update" button to update the list of printers. It worked on the first perfectly, as it has in the past with other computers to this place. Then I started to work on the other two at the same time. I'm lazy and started to perform several tasks such as installation of MS Office, Security Essentials (less than 10 units at this office, BTW), etc. while the Add Printer Wizard was updating the list of devices. One of these things, I can't remember which, required a reboot.

  And that is where I am certain that things broke. Restart has occurred while the two computers are in the middle of the list of loading from Windows Update System. I not interrupted the first PC. But the other two were interrupted and now they can't get a current list of Windows Update.

  I tried the FixIt tool at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 . He says he detects a problem and claims to have fixed. Except, it isn't - little matter how many times I run.

  Ideally, the FixIt tool above must be updated or a new tool must be created by Microsoft to resolve this particular problem. Type of the error in any search engine, and you will see this question from several years back. It's happens often enough to justify the creation of Microsoft or update a FixIt tool.

  Any thoughts would be helpful.

  I have exactly and that no ONE reads what you say or what other people say everywhere. Only the upgrade Assistant printer does not... The update of the Printer Wizard do not work. Windows Update works fine.

  You are right that if few people read what they respond to these forums. That's the kind of non-response, I found everywhere on the Internet about this issue. (The value of the community is sometimes over-rated, if you ask me). Apparently, using characters fat is not enough to focus on the fact that the issue is not with the printer compatibility since, as I said clearly A) this printer has installed fine several times in the past with the same OS and in the same office and B) that I clearly THE issue is that updated the list of devices , in the Printer Wizard, *Do NOT*!  
  However, I came across a suggestion on another site. I haven't had the chance to try it at the location of this particular customer - I'll do it later this month. Here is the link to the suggestion for you to try as well. Scroll to the end to ignore any non-response:

  Hi, most likely caused by one installation failed (not the Wizard), you need to do a bit of detective work, lets first try the easy solution: -.

  1. go to start, run and type regedit.

  2. go to the registry editor for

  HKLM\software\microsoft\windows\current version\installer\inprogress.

  3. click the inprogress key and note the name of the file contained on the

  right to databasepath (must be .msi extension).

  4 rename inprogress oldinprogress.

  5. close the registry editor.

  6. open my computer.

  7. navigate to C:\Windows\Installer (Installer file is hidden by)

  par_defaut, views folder check "show files and folders" also uncheck "Hide protected system files", do not forget to cancel it when you're done)) and rename the file noted in step 3.

  8 restart the computer and try the installation again.

  I got a computer breakdown and both after effects and the first started crashing after that.

  I uninstalled then and since then I can not reinstall. I get this error message:

  Exit code: 7

  ERROR: DW013: could not get the root of inChildPath

  I tried:

  1. 1- Repair of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages
  2. 2- Uninstall Adobe AIR, then reinstall the AIR and the Adobe help
  3. 3- I tried to use the vacuum (running it as an administrator but but it does not open)

  What is my next move?

  I have work to do.
