  It seems that this problem with CS has been resolved by running it in Windows Xp compatiability mode.
   
  Right-click on the shortcut, choose Properties, compatibility, mark the run this program in
  compatibility mode for: choose Windows XP SP2.

• Counter-strike errors - Satellite A100

  Hey there!

  I play counter strike frequently, it works fine on XP, but since I bought this laptop (A100-062), the game will jam to halfway through a turn, and the only way to fix it is completely restart the PC (such as Notepad integer jams).

  I tried the driver patch Intel, no luck. But could it be also related to this issue?

  When that I disconnect, it disconnects me, the screen flashes black for a few seconds and then again by saying "Please wait", why do these black screens occur?

  Strike cs is designed for Windows XP Home or Vista edition? Have you checked system requirements?

  I found the tracking info:
  Minimum configuration: processor 1.2 GHz, 256 MB RAM, DirectX 7, graphics card, Windows 2000/XP, mouse, keyboard, Internet connection

  All display flashing I can't say for sure, but I suspect there may be pass control of hardware operating system control hardware BIOS or backward. I'm really interested to hear what other more experienced users can say about it.

  I think that a Satellite L300 is not the laptop to play new games like Counter Strike Source. The Qosmio series is perfect for play.

  I installed a graphics card drivers on 3rd party Web site; + www.omegadrivers.net+
  It helped launch the counter strike on my laptop.

  But note; These drivers are not tested on the Toshiba laptop and you can install it at your own risk. I mean there is no guarantee that the laptop will run stable after installing all 3rd party drivers.

  -You are able to install other programs outside strike cs?

  First of all, check if the windows service install is set to automatic and started. To do this follow the steps below:

  1. Click Start.
  2. In the start search box type services.msc and press enter
  3. In the services window, do scroll down to Windows install.
  4. Right-click on it and click Properties.
  5. Check if the startup type is set to automatic, otherwise it is set to automatic.
  6. Click the Start button, this will start the installation of windows services.
  7. Click on apply and Ok.

  Check if you can install Counter Strike on the computer.

  If it fails after following the steps above, you can try to access the counter strike CD and try to do a right-click on the installation and configuration icon and select run as administrator and check if it helps you install the game with any questions.

  If the problem persists, open Event Viewer and check if there are other important messages/error codes generated during the time where the installation failed and post it back.

  The most common cause of this problem is damaged or outdated video card drivers. Please make sure that your video card drivers are up to date.
  You can also consider to reinstall the drivers for your video card if the game has worked previously on the same hardware you use now.

  Also uninstall and reinstall cs strike and check if it helps.

  # You have not given any information, except for what you are trying to run.

  As far we know you run with some processors Sempron/Celeron and 512 MB shared memory with an on-board video camera.  In addition, you might have a suite of protection oversized running on your system to keep you safe from Internet predators and a bunch of other things you love continues to run in the background.

  Here again, you can have a dual core or higher processor 1.8 GHz or more fast speed with 1 GB or more of memory and a 512 MB or higher video card (do not share memory with the system) which has installed the most recent drivers.  Also you can have only a basic product antivirus running, by using the built-in Windows Firewall and you want to keep your system with as little as possible run so that most of your resources are available.

  Probable - in any case - other than generalities such as:

  (1) make sure that few runs when you play the game (with the exception of the game) as possible.
  (2) make sure that you have the latest video card driver installed for your video card.
  (3) make sure that you have the latest driver installed for your motherboard chipset.
  (4) make sure that you have the latest audio driver installed for the audio device.
  (5) make sure that you have the latest network driver installed on your device on the network.
  (6) run the game with its smaller settings with the same extras disabled as you can stand it.  Shadows are nice - but will slow down your system.

  And the advice that you said that you do not want to (while remaining general because we do not know the details of your system):

  (1) buy a more grand/more fast video card to replace yours.
  (2) buy more memory system in case you run low during playback.
  (3) replace your processor with the highest that will take care of your particular motherboard.

  And the most extreme:

  (1) buy a system that has a little above the minimum specs for the best interpretation of this game is that you are trying to play.

  There is no information about this game with Windows 7 compatibility, in the Compatibility Center.

  It's an unusual problem and not something I've seen, but if it doesn't happen with CS 1.6 I think that Steam forums can be a better place to ask your question, because the game is a game of Valve/Steam.
