No, the mandate must still be valid.
There is a removable cover at the bottom of the unit as shown here:

  • Compatible hard drives for Portege 3480CT

    Hello

I have a Portege 3480CT and I need to replace its 12 GB (IBM & reg Travelstar) drive hard internal since the former on a developed bad blocks. Now, I assumed that it would be relatively simple, but I was wrong.

In any case, I got a replacement 2.5 "HD (this time a Hitachi Travelstar, 20 GB drive), but I couldn't make it work. I ran the program from IBM/Hitachi diagnosis and while the old 12 GB HDD is detected and removed ok, the 20 GB does not even get detected (i.e., seems that nothing is on the line of the IDE).

It was suggested to me by IBM and Hitachi that there is a list of compatibility to their hard drives, and may not be supported (http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/compatibility.htm), but I could not find my disc on their list (model is HTS424020M9AT00). Basically, what I want to know is what drives * are * compatible or what my problem with the laptop is otherwise.

For more info, when I try to install Win2k, I get an ArcRead failure, probably because he thinks that the drive does not exist.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I guess that there is problem with drive HARD and false parameter who decide if the HARD drive is the master or slave.

In my opinion you should contact the Service partner to ask them which HDD is suitable for your device. You can also check on the net and picking up some information because there are a lot of different suppliers where you can buy the HARD drive. I also found information that it is possible to use the 40 GB HARD drive for your unit, but it must be built in by seller.

    Hello

I need to replace the hard drive of my iMac 21.5 mid 2010. I thought that any SATA drive would work, but after studying a bit I discovered the issue of thermal sensor. So my question is: are there at - there somewhere a list of compatible drives? I can't find any information on this subject.

I'm not going to replace the drive myself, but I would like to know the options.

    Thank you

You don't necessarily have to get a special player.  There are interface cables

available that have a temperature probe attached to it.  See:

    http://eShop.MacSales.com/item/OWC/DIDIMACHDD09/

This cable simply connects between the new drive and the cable of the iMac.

Using this cable, you can install any available hard drive.

    Thank you wb2001,

A note aside before my supplementary question: Pavlov studies were on classical conditioning.  He used the meat powder in the dogs mouth to stimulate salivation canine combined with the sound of a Bell when the dogs became finally conditioned.  Once conditioned, the dogs would salivate upon hearing the Bell.  What you describe with the reward for behavior is the conditioning operating.  So what you want to say in the future be more precise, it's "I believe in right to Skinner" like B.F. Skinner.

Be-that-as-TI-may, stick to your reference to Pavlov for now wb2001, you're a good answer away from getting the meat powder.

  • Compatible hard drives for acer aspire 5749?

Hi could someone tell me what that hard drives are compatible with an acer aspire 5749 please?

There are 20 OEM hard drives specified for your model.
They are all 2.5 "SATA 5400 RPM so I suspect that you can use with this specification.
In addition, you can use the same technique, but the 7200 RPM for the best performance, but this would reduce your operating time of the battery.

Furthermore, an SSD is perfectly acceptable as suggested philetus. (More expensive but very quickly!)

Be careful of the USB FFC cable that runs through the HARD disk - it will be deleted/replaced and is easily damaged.

  • Permutation of type type 2007 T60 T60 1951's hard drive

My main phone is a type of T60 1951. The backlight or the inverter is faulty (the screen has a red tint, and if I operate at whatever it is superior to the lowest brightness setting, the backlight will just cancel), and I need to send the machine for repairs (Fortunately it is still under warranty).

I have a spare machine, a T60 2007 type, and I wonder if I can just plug the disk hard of the defective machine in a spare without the risk of screwing up what or something does not.

I looked on the net to see if I could understand what the difference is between the two types, but I did have a success. The only apparent difference between the two is that the defective machine has a DVD multi burner (Mat * beep * a DVD-RAM UJ-842 according to Device Manager) and the spare one a DVD/CDRW (Mat * beep * a UJDA755 DVD/CDRW according to Device Manager).

So: is it safe for me to simply remove the hard drive of the defective machine before returning for repair and just trade for the player currently in the spare machine?

    Thanks a lot in anticipation!

The biggest difference between the two is the fact that 1951 has integrated graphics card Intel, while 2007 has ATi dedicated GPU. You need to install the video drivers if your intention on the use of this drive, but it shouldn't bluescreen on you. Apart from that - and perhaps wireless if the cards are different - you should be OK.

    I hope this helps.

  • Compatible HARD drive need for my Satellite L655 - 1 6

    Hey everybody,

my 4 year old Satellite L655 1 g 6 has recently had some problems and the hard drive needs to be replaced.
Does anyone know about a cheap substitute that should not necessarily be the Toshiba?

I don't want to do a SSD hard drive, as this laptop is old enough, and the cost for the ssd would not depreciate in the next years.
Would be very grateful to hear some opinions/suggestions :)

    -Thanks in advance

In general you need is of 2.5 HARD drive with connector SATA and these drives, you can find in every store of the computer. Pick up some info on the proposed models, capacities and prices so that you can make a decision that you want to buy.
    > I don't want to do a SSD hard drive, as this laptop is old enough, and the cost for the ssd would not depreciate in the next years.
In my opinion it's the wrong opinion. Using SSD increase you the performance of laptop computer s quickly and were very quick machine. One day if you do not want to use this laptop, you can remove the SSD and put old HDD inside. SSD can be used on the new machine.
For me, it's the best solution for you.

Last year I've improved my 4 years old P500 with SSD and I m very happy with it. The price was only 149 Euros. It's OK price. Change the HARD drive is not complicated and you can do it alone.

  • MORE BIG SATELLITE 2595CDT-COMPATIBLE HARD DRIVE?

    Hello

    I'm new to this forum.
    I have this problem.
I want to improve my 6.4 GB hard drive in the Toshiba Satellite 2595CDT (acquired in the United States).
I sent an email to Toshiba America and their Division of storage devices, but they keep forward me to local representatives. I ain't get all the answers from them so far.

My question is if (ver 8.20 update) Satellite 2595CDT BIOS can recognize natively more large hard drives. My intention is to buy a 60 or 80 GB drive.

Any other owner of the Satellite has this problem?

    Thanks for your help.

    Radu

    Hi Radu

I think that you who keep Toshiba pass you to local representatives. Try to contact them and you get a lot more information. As far as I know that it is possible to build in the HARD drive with a very high capacity. It is also possible to manage settings of the BIOS to recognize the large capacity HDD. But for this it is necessary to use special tools that have just HARD drive vendors.

  • Dell Perc H310 T420-compatible hard drives

    Hello experts,

I have a server T420 with 8 Bay running 2 SATA 3 "switchable hot 5 Dell hard drives.  The controller is a Perc H310.

I would like to know what kind of hard drives could be integrated into empty compartments. I would like to use non - Hot Swap as well to extend storage. Buy standard 3 "5 7200 RPM Sata Hard Drivies? Will it work?

Thanks in advance. Appreciate your attention.

    Concerning

    Afreire,

You can use enterprise class SATA disks up to 4 TB in the remaining locations. You will need to the carriers for the readers, even if they are non-RAID.   H310 controller supports the use of JBOD (just a bunch of disks) without having them in a RAID.   OpenManage them will see as non-RAID drives.
