  I have just updated my laptop to be able to run the same version of GarageBand on my iMac and MacBook (OS X El Capitan and GarageBand v.6.0.5) and work on projects of GB on what that machine is available.

  I just tried to open a few GB on my MacBook projects (both were created on my iMac) and the recorded vocal tracks are "empty", as below.  The track from the top (purple) is any wav. file and the blue trace below is the vocal track, although it says "file not found".

  

  I copied the root folder where I save all my records in GB on my iMac to Dropbox so I could open projects GB on my laptop, so all audio files must be in the same place.  Or I make a stupid mistake?  It's really quite likely, but any help is very welcome!

  The problem could be the DropBox synchronization. DropBox is ideal for simple documents, but your GarageBand projects are files with databases and multimedia files inside. Synchronization can break the connection between the media files and internal databases.

  If you want to transfer projects with Dropbox, it is safest to compress the projects and move to archive compressed to dropbox.

  But see, if the media are still inside the Garageband project. Perhaps the download was not complete.

  • CTRL-click the .band file and select "Show Package Contents".
  • In the Finder window that opens, select the "Media" folder
  • Copy the audio files in this folder to a folder on your desktop.
  • Try to identify the missing audio file.  If you can find it, drag it to the track where it is absent.

I also get a popup when opening older files that said "Adobe After Effects: the project must be converted from version 9 (Windows) and opens as an untitled project.» The original file will be unchanged. "The model developer seems a complex like me. I found another forum with exactly the same problem as mine, but no resolution. Is there a way to download CS4 or 5 so I'm able to use these models? I've upgraded to AE 2015 to see if there was a difficulty, no luck.

  The popup is to be expected. This is just to let you know that you use a newer version, so it will save it with a different file name. Not much.

  The lack of music may not be a problem. How do you check to see if there is music?

  I found the models are often quite confusing for beginners. AE is too complicated to just jump right in. You will encounter "traps" as you did. We can try to help you to work right now through it, but if you get a decent Foundation first, you'll be much less frustrated. This resource is a good starting point: starting After Effects

  Whenever I have try and open the host character, it freezes with a transparent window on the top that says "opening"project host character. I tried to update, connection, disconnection, uninstalling and reinstalling. The same problem. I'm on a PC with an Nvidia graphics card.

  As I am not a user of Aperture, I don't specifically know the answer to what is the equivalent of a project (even if I think I can guess)

  However, I can exclude from catalogues and folders (explained in a second), leaving Collections and keywords as the only possibilities.

  Why not records? In my opinion, you do not use folders to organize the "projects" If you want to enjoy the power of Lightroom, you use Lightroom constructs such as collections, or key words. The advantages of these are that they are virtual... a photo can be in several collections, or be assigned to several keywords (as in the case where a photo is in many of your 'projects'), and there is always only one copy on your hard drive. If you use folders, then you need multiple copies of any photo, the original, and then one 1, another for project 2, project etc.

  Why not catalogues? In my opinion, catalogs are not supposed to be organize tools in Lightroom, they are simply data bases. There is no function that can search for photos, or perform any other operation, through several catalogs. Thus, the usual recommendation is that you put all your photos in a single catalog. It's not only simple, but he avoids many problems would happen if your photos are in multiple catalogs. There is one exception: several catalogues of work if the relevant object in each catalog is completely incompatible with the relevant object in the other catalogs (for example, business vs. personal).

  So, I think that we have the help of Collections as kind of a 'Project' container and key words as the tool of the Organizer. Affect your photos of relevant keywords (and optionally legends), and then select the pictures for specific projects and put them in a collection.

  When closing a 5.5 today Captivate project, he asked if I wanted to save the file. I said yes.   Okay, so first of all, I thought I thought that my .cptx file has been damaged during the process of backup/close when the PC crashed. So I went to open a project different .cptx file to see if it worked, but unfortunately it didn't, same error pops up. Then I sailed in c: / / Program Files/Adobe/Captivate 5.5 and I tried hard launch the adobecaptivate.exe file from there. NUP, still the same error.

  OK, while I restarted my pc a couple of times to see if it would refresh all my directories and tried again, again, same error on any file from Cap5.5 to .cptx.
  
  Then I was thinking to find a suitable system restore point and try that. Returned one, then two days of restore system without success points. Same error when opening my files .cptx.
  
  Then install thought to reinstall Captivate 5.5 on the existing, thinking it might be damaged file in the directory of the executable, and if all goes well a new facility would correct the problem. Makes installation, rebooted and tried to open my project .cptx file. Still the same error appeared.
  
  Was really bad now. Press forums. The only other thing I could find via a brief search has a solution to remove all fonts to remove from the directory of c: / / Windows/fonts as previous problems had reported problems with third-party fonts. OK, so deleted all fonts that I have and then tried to open my file .cptx. Yet, the same error occurred, but this time in a police different, ha! Redo all my fonts as it wasn't too the solution.
  
  Then I tried to open my Captivate 5.5 project file .cptx with just Captivate 5. OK, Captivate 5 opens, but then I get the error about cannot open the file because it is open elsewhere etc... so I put that down to the backward compatibility and Cap5 will not be able to open projects Cap5.5. But at least now I know for sure, Captivate 5 opens and works. Tried that several times just to make sure, so it is certainly a problem of 5.5.

  Otherwise, my only hope was to try to uninstall 5.5 Cap completely and then reinstall 5.5 all together, but I thought I would check here everything first to see if there is a much simpler solution.
  
  So here I am now, hoping someone may have ideas for me. In my opinion, I've exhausted all reasonable to my own skills of PC and knowledge to deal with this kind of problem, so I really hope I can get support.
  
  I am pleased to send screenshots, log files, or even to join a remote desktop session to get this sort. I use all authentic Cap5 copies and 5.5 with serials real all on a real laptop, and Yes, my problem is authentic

  Please try to rename the following file so that Captivate 5.5 is closed

  Then try to launch Captivate and check if the error persists.

  Is it possible to copy and paste a clip to the timeline in a project to another project? ... I can copy my video, but when I open the other project, it allows me not to stick it here... but I was able to copy and paste an element into a single project.  I tried everything... paste it into a new video track and sticking it in to an existing video track in the second project, but the paste option simply isn't there when I opened the second project.

  And if itself does not allow me to do somehow, a type of Clipboard to copy - paste app accessory will allow me to do?... If Yes, who is the soft copy - paste best, trustworthy which is malware free?

  It's the same problem as PrElements users. The Clipboard clears when they get out a project, and then open another. That Clipboard extender that I mentioned, Clipmate, works well for them.

• CS4 is consistent with each time the open project

  My system has recently been upgraded from CS3 to CS4. Now I find that some but not all of my projects are in line with all the files in the project, every time I open this project. Even if I have Prime Minister to close then immediately reopen this project, all files will be again in line.

  My system is a Matrox RTX2 with the latest versions of the tools of MX and CS4 usinf Window 7 OS updates.

  OK, I had the same problem and nothing was out there regarding the fix. Support didn't know what to do, so I decided to think about it on my own and I think I have a solution. Keep in mind, I have experienced the problem in CS5, but it can work as well for older ones. Here go us.

  Steps to follow:

  1. I made a new projected and it called "delete"(I did to avoid loading the trimmed project permanently)

  3. in the Edit/Preferences/Media UNCHECK 2 boxes that talk about XMP files. Save and close the first.

  3. I then deleted all previous ' compliant' media IN the media Cache files. (Was my location of records: c:\users\"username"\roaming\adobe\common\)

  If your are not there simply to review it your "scratch disks" is assigned to.

  4. in the same location that the files above, you should see a leader ("MediaCoreQT...") XML, copy the file and put in place course (incase your project does not open) and delete the original. This will force the first to another XML file to reference the media.

  5 when opening project you you will see it in accordance with your media. Hopefully it will be the last time.

  6 save and exit after compliance is complete. Open it again and see if the problem persists. If it worked to remove the copy without danger and the newly made project files 'remove' and you should be good.

  I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on an ASUS Gaming Notebook aged 2 years.  All installed software is set up to receive the latest updates.

  
  
  About 3 days, 24/09/2012, UTC - 6 h, I started to experience problems opening files inside MS Paint.  Recently used files open without problems, but when I used the drill down menu file and clicked Open, the File Manager window opens but seemed not completely.  It stops before you post content in the panels on the left or right.  After waiting almost a minute, an error window opens saying that the Paint program does not react with the choice of activation of one of the 2 buttons, Debug or Cancel.
  Despite my system restarts and run virus scans, nothing seems to be broken.  I did, however, go through the Event Viewer to see what specifics have been involved in these accidents.  As I'm not a programmer or remotely competent in any language of software, the only elements that makes any sense to me were mspaint.exe & explorerframe.dll mentioned in Application event error reports as well as a series of numbers. (I also made the applet of Quicktime, 22, do not overwrite my selections of extension of file to default, programs installed that I read in another forum, it tends to do with files visual & audio) So now, I have several issues with that I hope other posters can help me:
  • Everyone knows that I have here and have been able to solve it?
  • Is it possible to uninstall, and then reinstall the paint? (I don't want to do a restore system b/c my last restore point was in April).
  • Any of you know how I can repair this situation or even help out there so I could fix the problem myself?
  • Is it possible to have reported this instance to Microsoft somewhere other than the generic return route?

  A restore point can be created manually, but when you use windows update a restore point is often automatic created in the update process.

  Simply type 'Restore' in the search text box programs & files, double-click the shortcut to "System Restore" which results in and follow the instructions (note the show more restore point box)

  It seems that you have a problem of activation through which you are facing this problem.

  Please try following steps depending on your operating system.

  
  

  For Mac

  (1) close adobe every process in activity monitor (creative cloud, sync Core, CC library, services for the desktop application adobe, adobe office, broker CIB Adobe updater AAM service)

  2) navigate to the following locations and assign all permissions to the adobe folders to the current user. To navigate, click on go in the bar on then click goto... type/library/application support of / and then click OK.

  (3) to assign the authorization right click on adobe folder and click on Get info... A window will open. Then click on the lock symbol to allow editing. Then click on sign + to add your user name. Then change read only to read and write. Then click gear icon on the bottom and click on apply to the elements included and click ok... Go to the next step then.

  3) navigate to next support/adobe application and delete Slstore and slcache.

  4) go to ~/Library/application support/adobe/oobe and delete the opm.db

  (5) navigate to/etc and open hosts file. Check if it has entries from adobe. If any amount of the fine, if yes replace the hosts file with a new file hosts without adobe entries

  (6) launch cc app and it should work properly

  For windows

  (1) close adobe all processes in the Task Manager (Core sync services for the desktop application adobe, adobe office, broker CIB Adobe updater AAM service)

  2) navigate to the following locations and assign all permissions to the adobe folders to the current user.  (Right click on adobe folder select properties then click on the Security tab, click on edit and select current user, that you are connected to, select full control, click on apply and then ok)

  C: / / program data (to view hidden files to see this folder)

  C: / / program files 86 x files / common

  C: / / program files x 86.

  C: / / program files common files

  C: //program files.

  (3) rename SLstore to Slstore.old to the following location c: / / program data / Adobe /.

  (4) rename SLcache in Slcache.old in the location C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Adobe more

  4) navigate to c: / / Users/username/appdata/local/adobe/oobe and rename Opm.db to opm.old

  5) navigate to c: / / windows/system32/drivers/etc/and the hosts file opened in Notepad. IF you see an entry from Adobe it please replace this hosts file with a new hosts file that doesn't have any input from adobe. If there is no entry permit Adobe the hosts file, as it is.

  (6) run cc app and sign in.

  I hope someone can help me.

  I use AE CC/Windows 7 on a Dell, 32 GB of RAM, 64-bit op system, processor: Intel (R) Xeon (R) CPU x 5670 @ 2.93 Ghz 2.93 Ghz (2 CPUs).

  So far I had worked on many projects with no problems and then a few weeks ago, project crashing non-stop. The problem has been resolved when I got rid of all the MP3s and diverted to RAM. Once again, it was a problem that I had not in the past and I don't remember changing anything whatsoever.

  Now, it seems that it is impossible for me to export/rendering a project in a Quick time or same AVI file. If its quick time, I get this message: unable to make failure of After Effects error one module output. The file may be damaged or corrupted -1610153464 and if I am trying to export with AVI I get this message: cannot open projects in the background AE 26: 142)

  What is happening with the various projects.

  I have read the forums on hearing that the problem may be a Bug with quicktime and H.264? I never had a problem with it before, but even once when I try to export AVI I get this error message:

  I have a feeling that it is associated with quick time. I uninstalled and reinstalled QT, but still not the problem. It will open the old QT files without problem. I tried to download an update of the correction of a bug as a proposed post but I think I have the final reason why it did not work.

  QuickTime H.264 is terrible. Do not use it.

  Use the AVI file, you have created in your Adobe Media Encoder and use the parameters of H.264 there.
