CPU consumption
Expert Hi
How can I find that session consuming my CPU?
Try this
SELECT
s.UserName,
Round (Sum(value/100)) as '(seconds) CPU usage.
Of
v$ session s,.
v$ sesstat t,.
v$ statname n
WHERE
t.STATISTIC # n.STATISTIC = #.
AND
NAME like ' % CPU used by this session %.
AND
t.SID = s.SID
AND
s.Status = 'ACTIVE'
AND
s.UserName is not null
GROUP BY username

High CPU consumption (always between 12 and 30%)
I am running Firefox 9.0.1 for Mac. Until the upgrade to version 9.0.1 I had no use of high CPU problems... I've now must constantly between 12% and 30% of CPU and up to sometimes use much further than that, which really slows down my Mac to a point where I have to kill Firefox to use other applications.
I have a new Mac mini with fast CPU and 8 GB of RAM.
I tried to reinstall and also to disable the 4 Add-ons I have installed. After a new installation and all 4 disabled add-ons, I see exactly the same problem even with one tab open to google.com
Any help from the community is very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance...
I've upgraded to Firefox 10 and this issue is now resolved.

I opened a folder support with Norton a couple of days, for a problem with ccSvcHst.exe cripling process my system by consuming my CPU. I found that it was a common problem, and so I wanted Norton to solve. Their guy accesed my remote system support and made a few changes to my configuration utility and my registry files and then upgraded my version of their latest version 4.0
After the end of the support session, I finally restarted my system and encountered an error on my configuration utility being in a State of diagnosis, then that I should put it in a normal mode and restart again. I noticed that it had disabled the start of my services. I selected a normal startup and restarted.
The problem with ccSvcHst.exe consuming my CPU is now resolved - be replaced by different processes consuming my CPU and use of extremely heavy memory (or misuse). Faulty processes are mostly explorer.exe and iexplore.exe. Not only that, but this current problem exists even when I turn off Norton. I tried you connecting another deal with them, but they will not address the issue, since the problem (now) exist even without Norton running. So, basically, they made the problem worse and then pushed him on Microsoft to resolve the issue. It's really nice...
Anyone have any ideas?
It seems that your computer is infected. I get this from the fact that iexplore.exe (Internet Explorer) is running. If you haven't started IE yourself, then it is a clear symptom of malware infection.

NT kernel and system cpu consumption
Here's the problem I have and what I know so far.
NT kernel and the system is taking up not less than 25% of the CPU and everything. "Using process Explorer, I discovered the responsible thread: ntoskrnl.exe! KeAcquireInStackQueuedSpinLockAtDcpLevel + 0x1e0
I tried to suspend, by killing, and always watching permission and he said the same thing: can't access the thread.
so far, I took to be a pilot for the "folder lock" new software. I have never installed this program well and have no way to find. So I downloaded the windows driver kit, because this way I can look at the data and I hope at least limit, then google the drivers I think maybe it is.
However, the problem is that when I try to install, it says that the documents microsoft Explorer could not install and then it completely "to roll back' as he says, his installation. No matter how many times I try, it does. The two files SAY they should be able to be installed, but they are not.
This is where I'm stuck. Any help would be appreciated.

How to compare CPU consumption between instances on the same host
Hello
We have an AIX server hosting 12 databases.
I would like to get a glimpse of how the CPU is distributed among these 12 databases over a specific time period.
Is it possible to show that in a chart using OEM? I have not found a way...
I can see the CPU usage at the level of the host or the CPU per second for each individual database instance.
But how do I make a valid comparison between instances of database?
Is there another tool (UNIX level maybe) to do this in a simple way?
Thanks in advance

Hi all.
I have ESXi installed for the test on HP DC 7800 2x2.6 GHz C2D E6750, Im trying to install Windows Server 2008 x 64 on the Virtual Machine, and it takes a long time. IM wondering why during this installation the CPU use is if low, because his equal to about 300 MHz. I made a reservation about 1, 8 GHz, but it does not help...
What wrong with my VMWare?
Thamks for any help

As I see, you have set up the 8 GB of RAM for VM and in fact, you only have 2 GB physical.
Pwoer VM, change the settings of the virtual machine and allocates no more than 1 GB for VM.

Need to find the Oracle Session with high CPU consumption and process of the BONE
Hello
I find the high use of the processor by the command "prstat. The host is running Solaris 5.10 64-bit with a database of Oracle 10.2.0.4.
The grid, the high command is not available. What is the best way to find Oracle sessions using high processor and operating system processes.
Thanks in advance.

27 HP (3CM6110CNP): 27th HP "My Display" hogging CPU
I don't see a specific HP screens Council. If this isn't an appropriate card, can you point me to somewhere where I can get help please? Thank you!
I have a desktop computer (not HP) 3.2 GHz with intel dual core i5 CPU. Recently, I replaced my old monitor with a 27 HP and 'My view' software running constantly at about 33 percent of the capacity of the CPU of HP. This is not normal. Please notify.
Thank you
John
Hi RD,.
I took the steps you suggested (all goodO, noting that "My Display" consumed yet capacity 25% CPU with no applications running, the other has restarted, and it is now both memory and CPU consumption are minimal.)
Thank you!

High CPU after 10.11.3 at 10.11.4 upgrade
Use El Capitan successfully for several months, 10.11.1 to 10.11.3 migration. However, the upgrade to 10.11.4 led to relatively stable high CPU.
In particular, I see process launchd (about 75%), UserEventAgent (70%) and mds_stores (30%) CPU consumption at that rate there essentially all the time, the % overall slowed down when do nothig is about 45% - therefore on an end of 2014 retina iMac 27 inches with Fusion drive. Despite this, everything works still with reasonable performance, probably because there is still spare CPU capacity.
Looking at the Console log, I see a lot of

Removed some of the programs began and eliminated some of the agents launched (I think) and also re-installed from the recovery partition, but the problem is still there.

Would appreciate any suggestions.
Try each of them in order. A test to see if the computer works properly:
- Reset the PRAM
- Reset the controller (SMC) system management
- Start the computer in Safe Mode, and then restart normally. It's slower than a standard home.
- Repair the disk by booting to the recovery HD immediately after the chime press keys control and R that the Utility Menu appears. Choose disk utility and click on the button continue. Select the withdrawal (usually Macintosh HD) volume entry of the list to one side. Click first aid button in the toolbar. Hold the button brings up. Disk utility and return in the Utility Menu. Restart the computer from the Apple Menu.
- Reinstall OS X by booting from the Recovery HD using the command and R keys. When the Utility Menu appears, select reinstall OS X and then click continue.
- Download and install updated Combo OS X El Capitan 10.11.4.

Satellite C660 - Constant high speed CPU fan and a high utilization of the processor
I have the Toshiba Satellite C660-F235. A few days ago, my machine was suddenly ok, fan constantly runs fastly each time and cpu use at least 50%. If I want to run some programs that require high cpu consumption, that the system is turned off automatically.
I installed the latest version of the BIOS and all drivers and installed the new windows 7... Please help me
Hello
I think some sort of background process CPU stress.
You can check this in the task-> processes tab Manager
Click the CPU column to get the ordered process and to show all processes that emphasize the CPU.Closing or disabling of these processes can reduce the performance of the processor.

When he puts an end to Firefox 3.6.6 firefox.exe continues to turn, visible in the Manager of tasks (XP) and stimulates the activity of the CPU up to 60% with the danger of overheating. Have not found an appropriate response with the search term "abnormal termination of the program."
This has happened
A few times a week
is after update of Firefox 3.6.4
I have the same problem with Firefox 3.6.6 except that it also consumes massive amounts of CPU during the race. This version also adds a new process on your system. I am running XP and in the beginning I tried to disable some plug-ins. Always consumed too much memory. I went back to version 3.6 and the new process went, and the CPU consumption is way down. Something is wrong with the latest version of Firefox, I never saw behave this way. Revert to a previous version (Filehippo) and you will see the difference.

Windows XP CPU running at 100% with no open programs
I use Windows XP SP3 with 2 GB of RAM with a 1.80 Ghz Pentium 4 processor... The computer is VERY slow and lazy most of the time. Sometimes it's fast and the answer but then IT suddenly comes back to extremely slow and lazy - it's as if something is supported of the processor.
When we look at the performance tab of the the task manager of the CPU usage is running between 80 and 100% when it opens any program or and for the desktop to appear.
I ran Super Anti Spyware and found 69 threats that have been deleted.
I ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and it found 1 threat that has been deleted.
I run ESET NOD32 Anti-virus and it was a clean analysis.
I run the latest version of CCleaner and cleaned the registry and the tab Cleaner for the cleaning of temporary files, etc.
I defraged the drive and also checked/fixed for disk errors.
After that the CPU usage is running always extremely high with no programs open.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do or check, fix anything that captures the CPU?
Thank you. Best regards, Bill Artman Kansas City - USA
What is your system brand and model?
You may be able to get clues with what is happening by using the Task Manager and maybe understand.
You will always figure out what happens if you use Process Explorer.
Download Process Explorer, so you can see what is 'really' currently running on your system, especially behind these multiple svchosts see you in the Manager of tasks running.
Download Process Explorer from here:
http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/Sysinternals/bb896653.aspx
You'll like Process Explorer when you get the hang of it. Process Explorer is the Manager of Windows taskbar on steroids.
Process Explorer installs nothing so it won't slow down your system since it works only on request.
Process Explorer can seem a little intimidating at first because it has so much information, but you will begin to make love the way it works when you're looking for performance problems. You can even say EP you want it to be your new default 'Task Manager' value in the future. You can always run the original tasks as Manager.
Once you get Process Explorer running, expand the columns, made drag the corners of the screen for it's largest, etc., so you can see as much information as possible in the window. Now you can really see what is running on the system.
Here's a screenshot of my system when I use Process Explorer:
http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/2567/ProcessExplorer.PNG
The CPU column is usually the most interesting start with performance issues - which uses the most?
It is OK and normal to have of multiple svchost processes running, but sometimes malware will hide behind them, as the malware knows that you will not be able to spot it in the Task Manager.
Malicious software can disguise itself also seems to be a legitimate process of XP or he could hide under/behind other processes that you see running in Task Manager if you can't see the execution.
The malware would trick you into thinking you must use a System Restore Point, run a repair install or reinstall your XP from scratch when you really don't.
Looking at the display in process Explorer, you want the CPU most to be associated with the system idle process. It's 'free time' on your system, so more time there, more free.
If you look at the graphs of performance and see red spikes (or not) double click the graphic in the upper left corner to display the graph to use. Move the mouse over any pics to see what are the causes. Even if the Spike has already scroll screen, you can still move the mouse over the edge to see what caused. You can also just wait for a pic to happen and then see what caused the Spike.
To help understand your process svchost and what is running under them, read this article and you will be smarter than the average bear:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/Forum56.html
Then with a few Google searches, you can watch every thing in PE and behind your svchost processes running and see what it is and decide if your configuration needs it or not and then decide what to do about this.
If you think you have a svchost.exe process amok, executed using PE, you can right-click that offensive svchost, properties and on the Services tab and son, you can see which runs under it.
There is a CPU column it will expand (make the wider column) so that you can see CPU. Maybe you can spot what background process is so CPU consumption under the svchost.exe process. Stroll under the svchost process and you will find it.
You can also see what is running under each svchost simply by pointing your mouse on the svchost.exe process. Some of them have just a things working under them and some will have several things (I hope that all the legitimate XP services) and some will have a lot of things.
If you have a svchost process that is afflicted, which runs under your afflicted?
No running process must defy reasonable explanation.
First, see what you can discover using Process Explorer and then if nothing is obvious, see other things.
Do, or do not. There is no test.
I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!

Today, my computer is very slow and jerky. In the Task Manager, CPU is always at 50% or more when none of the tasks are running. I don't know why this just happened out of nowhere, but I don't know what to do.
I noticed things:
In the Task Manager, showing processes from all users, are the two things that use CPU: idle process of the system (under the name of user, SYSTEM) and ((sous le nom d'utilisateur, SYSTÈME) system (as the description says NT kernel & system).)
Both use upward around 48-50 CPU when running nothing, while the System Idle Process CPU decreases dramatically every time I click on something.
If anyone can help understand me why Vista is upward today, I would be very happy!
Wow, I have fixed the problem before you posted right! What a coincidence! I was disappointed that it took me hours of tree to find out how to solve this problem, it turns out that all I had to do was restart my computer. After restarting, "Sysem" was 3% of CPU. Now everything is running back to normal. I'll still try and discover what it is and why it can swell into a giant monster of CPU consumption.
Thanks for your help!
