  • CPU Upgrade - G6 2220SQ Pavilion

I think my i3 of the 2370 M (SB) upgraded to an i7 3610QM (IB). I'm not shure if this would be a good idea because some say it could be a compatibility issue when switching from the CPU. I am sure that electrically and physically there is no problems (the chipset is Intel HM76 that supports taken rPGA 988B processors, and the processor is on the list of upgrade of the socket according to the official website of Intel). What is more, I saw the 3610QM i7 launched in Q2 2012 and laptop BIOS's May 29, 2013. CPU - Z indicates that the version I currently have is F.25, made by Insyde before specified date. Pavilion G6 2240SQ a on board an i7 3632QM, so is there a go for the upgrade or not? Features of the phone are: memory of 8 GB 1333 (2x4gb) made by ASint Technology, i3 2370 M @2.4 GHz 35W, 7670 M 1 GB GDDR3, 750 GB at 5400 RPM / MIN Hitachi HDD, motherboard is HP 1840 (56.32), chipset Intel Sandy Bridge REV 09, southbridge Intel HM76 04 REV. I look forward to your reply.

You have probably already that, but here is the Manual:

    Manual

The i7-3610QM is not in the list. Your logic is impeccable on why it should work, but it may or may not. The i7-3632QM will work certainly because it's on the list. The model with this processor uses the same motherboard as yours.

  • Pavilion dv6: upgrade memory on Pavilion dv6

I have an older dv6 which serves my needs very well.  I want to memory to the maximum that the system will allow.  I can't find a model or serial number anywhere on the computer.  Its processor is an AMD Turion II P540.  Memory current chips are 2-2 GB Hynix 2Rx8 PC3 - 10600S - 9 - 10 - F2 for 4 gigs total.

  • W510 CPU Upgrade (i7-720QM to i7-920XM) Possible?

    Hello Forum:

I recently bought the W510 and I was wondering if I can (by myself) spend the i7-720QM CPU to the i7-920XM.

I just want to know if there are compatibility problems, I'm thinking, such as Sockets, motherboard, etc and if I can just replace the CPU and cranking up my computer (or what I need to do a few tweets from BIOS).

I have already compared the two on the Intel Web site and their bases are the same (http://tinyurl.com/4d3aw82).

    Thanks in advance!

  • CPU for a HP Pavilion DV6-7115nr

Anyone know how much a new processor would cost, or where I could find one?

If you want the same it's an AMD A8 - 4500M.

    Less than $30 on eBay:

    Here is your Service Manual:

    Manual

If it's not too curious to ask, why do you think that you need a new processor? Many people think that this is the problem when it is much more likely to be the motherboard, no matter what the blink Codes say. Central units rarely go bad, but not never.

  • The upgrade of the graphics cards and processors on the Hp Pavilion dv6-6c35dx

I was wondering if I can improve the graphics and CPU on my Hp pavilion dv6-6c35dx, or should I buy a new computer in the future?

    Hello:

You are unable to pass the video to your laptop without having to replace the whole motherboard with one that may have better graphics that could be included in the service manual for your laptop.

C responsible for costs making a such update is not worth. A new motherboard for your PC would cost almost as much as a new PC.

You can also see Chapter 1 of the list of supported processors.

I think with AMD processors, you must also replace the motherboard to upgrade the processor.

    I upgraded my HP Pavilion DV6 - 3114CA with 2 new Crucial 4 GB SODIMM DDR3-1600.

The Device Manager in Windows 10 displays "unknown device".

The error message appears as follows:

    You are the very welcome.

    That is a good question.

    I would say that...

One of the memory chip is faulty

One of the memory locations does not work.

Test each piece separately and test it in each single unit.

In this way, you should be able to isolate the problem.

  • Pavilion dv6-6047 cl: black screen before opening of session in Windows 10

Recently, I upgraded my laptop Pavilion dv6-6047 cl of Windows 7-64 bit for Windows 10-64 bit. The only thing I changed from the original specification (see link below), it is that I bought a Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500 GB. In Windows 7, everything was fine, the boot to make up to 8 sec. Now she starts, but stay for more than one minute, stuck in a black screen for the login screen to appear.
I tried to update the graphics driver, but nothing happened.

    The processor driver is up-to-date.

The SSD driver is too far.

I rolled back to Windows 7 and everything went back to normal. And then upgraded to Windows 10 once again, everything goes black again.
Please help me, because my SSD is worthless with a + 1 minute boot.

    Thanks in advance!

With the processor on which I can replace my current processor?

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

There are several faster processors (i7) listed, but you can't use them because of the motherboard. There is a different motherboard for dual processors and quad core and you already have the fastest dual core that is compatible, so you're at the top of the curve without upgrade potential.
