  • Satellite L555-11 q - crazy keyboard

    Hello

    I have the following problem:

After a while my keyboard won't any more correctly. The keyboard forget the letter or written twice and three times over.
If I bring the laptop and the battery to take and then reintroduced, so everything is. After an uncertain time, the error reappears.

    Hello

It would interesting to know, if you notice the same behavior on an external keyboard. You should test this in order to determine if it s a hardware or software problem!

I put t know what operating system you have, but in the control panel, you can also change some keyboard settings.
Also, try to remove the keyboard from the Device Manager, and then restart the computer. After that the keyboard will be recognized again.

  • A80 - 131... incredible keyboard lag after reinstall

    Hello

I'm tring to complete a reinstallation of all ' on a Toshiba A80-131. The computer was delivered in Spanish, but the owner wants everything in English. So I installed Windows XP sp1 and all the drivers I could find on the toshiba site. I find myself with 1 unidentified PCI device and this crazy keyboard lag. By way of illustration, it took me about 4 minutes to type the text in this post so far. I type and then sit back and watch the characters appear at a pace slightly less than 1 per second
I managed to install updates including SP2. I put in S & D Spybot and Adaware, and they are both pleased. Everything works fine, but not the keyboard (and then there's the mystery of PCI). It feels like there is a buffer which is strangled somewhere...
Don't tell me is a PCI keyboard ;·)

Pointers? Even google could not help.

    Hello

You can also find the instructions for installation of the Driver download site. Follow this order, and perhaps the PCI mystery will be gone this way.

But on the keyboard I have no idea, sorry.

Have updated the BIOS, no change. Connect a USB keyboard, everything works fine.

A new keyboard will fix things?
I see they are £20 on eBay.

    Thanks for the help.

    > Connect a USB keyboard, everything works fine.
Yes, this means that the keyboard controller is OK and the internal keyboard needs to be replaced.

    > Will be a new keyboard fix things?
Yes, new keyboard should solve the problem.

    Hello
My laptop keyboard is not responding. I can not connect, if I set the restore disc and press on 'C' by following the instructions it happens with the Bios setup and I can't navigate through the options with the arrow keys. On the login at startup screen I can right click on the password box and it displays Unincode options that None are checked? and ideas please!

    Hello

I guess you want to boot from the disk?
By pressing the "F2" immediately after the laptop from you should be able to get into the BIOS!
There you should be able to change the boot order.

But if you crazy keyboard running, I recommend to connect an external one and test it.
But I think that if keyboard problem and you won't be able to use it if you need to replace the keyboard internal.

  • Satellite A500 / big problem with keyboard

Hello everyone, first sorry for my English, I'm French!

Anyway, since 2 days now my Satellite A500 has a big keyboard problem and I don't know how to fix it. I used it as usually, just cleaned each week arriving at work with a simple cloth and after starting my computer, when I started typing, I realized that the keyboard has disappeared as a "madman".

Some keys are reversed, others like the space bar just doesn't work anymore, capslock button now unlock with the key has and another example, when I press D writes 'CD' and other stuff like that. It is simply impossible to type correctly. I'm running on Windows 7, I have the first test to look for any kinf of viruses, vain, so I formatted my hard drive, reinstalled Windows 7, then after I did the update to the Bios and now everything is clear and clean, but the keyboard problem is still there.

The fact is that I have this laptop since August 2009 and my warranty no longer applies, so before I should send my computer to any computer repair store I want to know if it's really a problem of keyboard/equipment which can be fixed, "softwarely" or if there is always some kind of alternative for me.

Thanks to all for your future responses.

    Hello

    Crazy keyboard?
Hmm. Don t think that it s software or related bios looks more keyboard problem.
You can try to plug an external USB keyboard to check if the problem would be also available
If it s not available using the external USB keyboard, then it s internal problem of keyboard and the part needs to be replaced.

Keyboard replacement is not difficult. The keyboard is secured by two or three screws that are hidden under the cover of thin plastic above the F1 - F12 buttons.
Remove the plastic cover, remove the screws, lift the keyboard, disconnect the cable (notice, two tiny locks on the connector needs to be moved).
Then, you would be able to remove the cable of the flat keyboard which is connected to the mobo.

But if you have no experience, then you this replacement must be done by laptop computer technician.

  • Satellite P300 - keyboard going crazy

    Hello!

I have a Satellite P300, and my motherboard broke out weeks.
I picked it back this morning, but since the repair, I have a little problem:

The keyboard has a numeric keypad, separate, which can turn with the NumLock key.
When the num lock is activated (green LED on), by pressing the keyboard give me number; but part of my alphabetical keyboard also gives me number (keys: u, i, o, p, j, k, l, m,...).
This part of the keyboard is supposed to be a keyboard that can be switched on with the Fn key.
As long as I have not any combination of keys + Fn, I can't turn this off.
The only way for me to use my keyboard is to turn it on when I need it and off right after I used it...

    Does anyone have a solution?
    Thank you

Please don't do anything alone, but contact service again and explain the situation.
They MUST check the functionality and give you work well for laptop.
I assume that they made a mistake. Maybe wrong BIOS or something.

You can't do anything. Contact them again.

  • Help with my crazy sensitive keyboard

Hey guys, I have a aspire V. Tecently, crashed and long story short, I had to buy an ssd and yesterday just to install a new copy of windows home 64-bit 10. I had to get a retail disk in order to make it work. Usb key bootable and other things were not working. As I looked at the features and a faster laptop a lot with ssd, I noticed that some keys on my keyboard do not work. Sometimes I have to press hard, or for a period of time to make it work, there is at least some good 8 keys that do not work. Is this a bug? Or I can access the registry key or anything? a little difficult to this win10 to see that. I went to different youtube channels, but none of them would do anything? Help? Maybe I do not place just something good until I screwed up my laptop?

in my opinion is the keyboard connection, check.

  • Keyboard settings not working not not in IOS 10

    Hey people,

I have correct automatic and auto-capitaliser as well as disabled predictive typing in my keyboard settings, but since I have installed iOS 10, they are all functional, despite being off. It drives me crazy. Help?

    Greetings, bettina77!

It seems that some of your settings on your iPhone keyboard 6 work even if they are extinct since the upgrade to iOS 10. That could drive me to distraction as well then I'll be happy to help you with this.

How to backup your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch – whenever from the troubleshooting procedures, I always recommend backup. It is always preferable to 'having' a 'need' to a backup.

    1. assistance with the keyboard on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch - go to settings > general > keyboard and turn one of these features, count to five, and then turn off and test.

    2. restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch - never underestimate the power of a good restart!

    3. reset the iPhone settings - go to settings > general > reset > reset all settings. This puts all the settings on your iPhone back to factory default. Check your keyboard settings once your iPhone restarts and test again.

If you have not backed up your iPhone at this point, I strongly advise to do so now that the next steps will erase your iPhone completely.

    4. use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore the iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings - you will need to use iTunes on a computer to completely erase your iPhone, you can install a new copy.

First, select "set up as a new iPhone. You can skip connecting to iTunes and App Store and iCloud for now, if you wish. Check your keyboard and test settings. If the problem is resolved, continue to the next step.

    5. restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from a backup - follow the steps here to restore your information to your iPhone.

    See you soon!

  • Post Apple DIY Mod Compact keyboard

    Hey

I'm looking for a compact keyboard for Mac, aka TKL keyboard. It is very rare and very expensive. If I cut my Apple keyboard position. Would this work? The keyboard would still be usable? Hope I do not sound crazy.

    Thank you!

It is extremely unlikely to work if you did. The main part of the keyboard is a giant circuit connecting all the keys for the controller and Sockets. It is almost certain that if you chopped off part of it as you suggest that some or all of the remaining keys would not work as some of the connections on this circuit is no longer connected.

If this can help remember that it is possible to use a PC USB with a Mac keyboard, and possibly the layout and size may be easier to find a form of PC.

  • Numbers of wired keyboard has stopped working

I have a keyboard attached to a wired Macbook Pro Apple. The keyboard worked fine for a year apart from the occasional glitch when it stops working, I add an extension of cable and it starts working again.  However, all of a sudden the numbers on the keyboard at the top of the keyboard have stopped working (but - and = work). the keyboard on the right continue stop work very well.  I think the function keys work always.  Someone at - it ideas?  It's driving me crazy! Tried to restart and don't Scream - no luck so far.

Hello Lloyd C from the United Kingdom.

If I understand you right, the numbers on the wired Apple keyboard that you have connected to your MacBook Pro stopped working. We know that it's never ideal to have a device that does not work as expected, we are happy to help you get the keyboard to work again.

The first thing I would recommend, first and foremost, is to update your Mac if there are updates available for the version of Mac OS X, you're running. Follow the steps in the article to support below if you are not familiar with how to update. For the purposes of troubleshooting, whenever you test your keyboard after you follow the steps that we provide, make sure that it is while the keyboard is connected directly to the USB port built-in on your MacBook and not connected to a USB hub. In addition, disconnect all other devices you have plugged into your Mac, besides than the charging cable under test.

Update the software on your Mac

If the problem persists after the update, the next step would be to reset the system management controller (SMC). The MSC is a part inside your MacBook, who helps run various physical parts of your computer, and resetting can sometimes help the problems associated with the keyboard and USB functions. The support article below contains the steps on how to reset the SMC.

Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac.

Test the keyboard after that the MSC has been reset. If the problem persists, follow the steps in the "Steps to a USB keyboard" section in the following article:

If your USB keyboard or wireless does not work

Remember that it's always a possibility that the issue could be with the keyboard itself. If you continue to have problems with certain keys, try to connect the keyboard to a different Mac, if you manage to and see if you experience the same problems.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

    Take care!
