My iMac keyboard is crazy

Hey

all of a sudden some keys on my magical keyboard stopped working - which is really annoying that some of the culprits are mandatory for my password to connect!

any ideas out there?

Check to see if it needs to be recharged.

Open system preferences > mouse.  % Of the battery is noted here.

Connect a USB cable to the port of your accessory Apple lightning lightning.

  • Am I able to configure a wireless iMac keyboard to emulate the way a Windows keyboard responds to a depression of the DELETE keys and BACKSPACE?

Am I able to configure a wireless iMac keyboard to emulate the way a Windows keyboard responds to a depression of the DELETE keys and BACKSPACE? I want to delete either to the left right GOLD of the cursor. By pressing the DELETE key on Mac does remove one way, but I want the ability to delete in both directions. The Windows keyboard provides a delete key to remove to the right and a key to return back to remove to the left. So I can configure an iMac for this keyboard? My thought is to keep the delete key as it is and ADD a new function to one of the function keys to delete characters to the left. Thanks for your time and your help.

Mac can go both ways, in case this is useful.  You can use fn more delete to delete to the right.  Also control more.

    These are anyway, following symptoms:

-the BACKSPACE key does not work

    -space does not work

-below left is pressed, the right is the result on the screen:

    y gives "yn".

    n gives "yn".

    t gives 'tb '.

    b gives 'tb '.

    -  /     gives                    "[/"

    -  [     gives                    "[/"

-BACKSPACE will remove the letter just before but not anymore

These are the only keys that I found the problem with until now, but they make it unusable. Can anyone help.

  • End of 2012 iMac keyboard does not respond after sleep

I have an iMac late 2012 and my keyboard does not respond after that lay down the computer.  When I type the password box is very slowly filled with random letters that are not my password and hit enter just adds another letter.  In my view, that it is a common problem that I am many have known for a few months.  Is there a solution to this I have reset PRAM and SMC, and no work.  It's very irritating and I hoped with every update from El Capitan, this would have been fixed, but not joy.

I don't know about "modern" Mac and OS X versions, but on my old Powerbook / Tiger awakened from his sleep, it was necessary to 'click' somewhere (I clicked on always in the password field) before the same keyboard would meet all

  • Wireless iMac keyboard 'stick' after sleep

Sometimes (mostly, but not always - prob 90% of the time) my wireless keyboard 'glue' after my iMac 27 "comes out of sleep mode.  At the login prompt, the entry buffer fills up with junk as if a ghost is to type, and the keyboard is completely insensitive (e.g. to remove). The only solution is to hold the power button on the keyboard until it stops and then put the new one.

The keyboard is not sticking in the physical sense, because once he recovers after a power cycle, it is back to normal (a properly glued key would be obvious that it repeats)

Battery levels are very good - this behavior occurs regardless of the battery status. I read other reports of people in need of re-pair the bluetooth connection.  He doesn't lose it is the pairing, but there is a problem with connectivity, or there is a bug?

Anyone who has experienced this problem?

    Thank you

Try to do a reset of the SCM and LANDAU. The SMC reset may have to be tried 2 or 3 times back to back. If you are not familiar with these resets, please read iMac SMC and reset the PRAM. If those who do not help, please post back and there is something else to do.

  • Satellite P300 - keyboard going crazy

    Hello!

I have a Satellite P300, and my motherboard broke out weeks.
I picked it back this morning, but since the repair, I have a little problem:

The keyboard has a numeric keypad, separate, which can turn with the NumLock key.
When the num lock is activated (green LED on), by pressing the keyboard give me number; but part of my alphabetical keyboard also gives me number (keys: u, i, o, p, j, k, l, m,...).
This part of the keyboard is supposed to be a keyboard that can be switched on with the Fn key.
As long as I have not any combination of keys + Fn, I can't turn this off.
The only way for me to use my keyboard is to turn it on when I need it and off right after I used it...

    Does anyone have a solution?
    Thank you

Please don't do anything alone, but contact service again and explain the situation.
They MUST check the functionality and give you work well for laptop.
I assume that they made a mistake. Maybe wrong BIOS or something.

You can't do anything. Contact them again.

  • Target Disk Mode - MacBook is not mounted in the desktop iMac

I have a MacBook to 2015 and a cable USB-A-USB-C marked 'SS '.  In November 2015, I might start my MacBook in TDM and plug it into my iMac 2013 and see him mount on the desktop.  I could then synchronize some of the files (using synchronize folders) and have up-to-date on my MacBook.  Both computers running El Capitan.

But about 3 months ago this system has stopped working.  Editing of my MacBook on the desktop iMac became sporadic and now never happens.  I have tried different cables, connected to different USB ports (the back of the iMac, iMac keyboard and a Flash to USB dock (Belkin)), but no joy.

Has updated the firmware of computers?  El Capitan has stopped this feature very useful to work?

    Any ideas, anyone?

    Chris

As a work-around, there are other ways of synchronization of files between devices.

iCloud Drive, Box, OneDrive, DropBox, Google Drive. These will make everything you do.
