  The structure on the top is a code handle my cluster (uninteresting code is blocked). On the bottom, there are clusters of several type defs, which I use. So, I have created several subVIs to accept my pile of type defed (all together 4 pieces). I link all my subVIs in a single polymorphic VI and use as desired. In all of my subVIs, I change the elements of the cluster in the same order.

  But when you change the code of the subVIs, I need to change the code in the other subVIs, too. Is it possible to create a single VI who will accept multiple clusters of type defs?

  What I would do, is go back to your configuration polymorphic and transform any code which is common proximities different polymorphic cases in a Subvi.  Then just edit the subVIs.

• Import of images from several CDs/DVDs

  I generate a volume name for my discs by creation date (date the actual backup, not shoot date) and the number of disk for that day.  This is the format: YYMMDD. # It is the label for the disk and volume name.  On these discs, I have folders of images with the date of shooting and disc # in the same format. Currently, I have more than 300 disks that I created over time.  I'm just starting to use Lightroom for cataloging all my images.

  When I import images of several CDs/DVDs, only the drive letter, folder name, and name of the image seem to be stored in the catalog, not the volume ID of the CD/DVD where the image is. If I have images on several CD/DVD and several files on these disks, how can I know which contains the image when I wanted it back?  I have between 15,000 and 25 000 images on disk.

  There must be a way to do it rather than re - label each disc.  Even in this case, it seems completely unrealistic. Programmers are legacy pictures or they expect photographers start over just because they have incorporated Lightroom into their workflow?

  Also, is there a limit to how much the images to put them in a catalog?

  It would work for you to score just the first image in each folder that represents the contents of each hard media? This would bind you to maintain this structure.

  OTOH, maybe you can move to a much more flexible backup, HARD drive, giving you many more options. Then the DVD become backup backup.

  Here are the steps to duplicate layers / groups between documents:

  1. Select the layer or group (s) or group (s) in the Panel layers
  2. Right click and choose: duplicate layers / groups
  3. Click on move down on the right side of the: Document
  4. Choose the name of the document in the drop-down list
  5. Click OK

  Selected layers, or groups will be duplicated in the document chosen above the currently active (selected) layer (Group) or on top of the layer stack if nothing has been selected.

  When you import a psd file, it should load it as a smart object. You can change all you want with that affect the underlying image.

  Another solution is to select all the layers of an image, and then convert to smart object. Now you can drag and drop into another document.

  Another solution is to create a composite, select all the layers, and then press ctrl-alt-shift-e (windows) cmd-opt-shift-e (mac) can hide lower layers or drag and drop the composite to a new document.

  I could do this by placing each of these small images within a single movieClip. In other words:

  1 import each image and set each as a movieClip symbol.

  2. set the size to 270 X 220 if different.

  3. create a new movieClip and place each of the four images in this new movieClip in the arrangement you want.

  4 write a function of mouse event to expand each of the four movieClips for the largest size.

  When you select a picture, is there a graduation present in the photo?  If the tick mark is not there, which indicates that the photo was not selected.

  I would take a multi pake pdf file, and have all pages "joint" from top to lower edge to create a single image of high. I am a teacher and I currently do this by hand, I can then annotate the entire page and croll down to an entire document inside Photoshop.

Currently I opened the PDF in PS, I find myself with 4 images; I adjust the size of the vertical Web of one of the images to be 4 times its original size, then one by one, I copy the content of each image to this new high image and move the layer vertically below the other. The result means a 1024 x 6400 pixel image.

  I would like to be able to simply open the PDF with a script and get this all done in one step.
