Create a white gradient on a photo

I need to create a text box gradient white on a photo in the background. Please take a look at this example:

http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=13EWsrgyHCHak3Aqfn6SvNPkyvbNd

It was created with the gradient tool, but I don't like the hard load on the edges of the white. I want to create a white gradient going from top to bottom, but with an opacity drop-off (with soft edge) so up and down are 0% as shown.

The problem is, I can't understand how to apply different opacities to different parts of the gradient. I have 100 percent and grade outside Center zero up and down. Any way to do it? Or is there another tool, I should use?

Thank you

Eugene

It's one dodle.

Let me introduce you to the wonderful world of opacity masks.

Click on the layer (the white box in this case) you want to fade on the edges, make sure that the transparent window is open (otherwise: window > transparency) and on the left, click on the small arrow in the upper right corner, then click on "make opacity mask".

Now left click once in the little black box that just appeared in the window of transparency.

Now draw a box placed exactly above the white box (you can on the edges aside without any problem in this instance, but it is best of best practices).

Now with this new box selected create a gradient that goes from 100% black to white (in the middle) to 100% black again. You must make sure that it is a pure black, I do not work in CMYK mode normally, but I know that if I work in RGB, I make sure I use RGB values black and white and not in CMYK (which could be "fixed" in CS4).

Make sure that the degraded rotation will sense and your pretty much done.

You can change the color saturation levels to adjust the level of transparency.

Once your done left click button in the window of transparency.

Now your done, the opacity mask will remain attatched to your artwork until you de-tatch it.

Hope that helps and is in fact your request.

Paul

  • Black and white gradient?

I am a tutorial and select a fill of a shape and choose the black to white gradient in the gradient panel grade

    1. I don't seem to have the black and white gradient. I don't see the fade to black shade of gradient. Is this the same thing, if not how to black with white shade of gradient?

    Thank you.

This is the problem of the value by default is black to white this is what you're missing. You may accidentally selected among other predefined gradients and the default value is lost and you must re-create or reset preferences and then save before you perform a new or create a new document that he will also receive. But to do with the document you now you must re-create it. Watch the videos

  • How to convert a white background on a photo in a different color

How to take a black and white photo and transform the white background to a color of my choice? I know that I can change the foreground (black) with monotonous, but I want to change the white (inversion of the image would just reverse the problem, is no help). The text is too complex to mask or fill little by little. There must be a simple way to convert another color to white, but I am at a loss. I'd be happy to include a file if someone is willing to hold my hand through the process.

Layer > new adjustment layer > gradient map. Click on the black and white gradient in this dialog box. Another gradient dialog box appears. Click on the slider on the left, at the bottom, which is color (that of the top is transparent). In the field of color below, click the black swatch. Select the color you need. Repeat for the right cursor down.

Although it seems to be a white border when you first fill the snip, after saving it shouldn't be present more.

If the border remains you can remove by using the crop tool on a photo editing programs such as integrated Windows Paint program.

  • How can I create a background gradient which does not affect the readability of the words in the foreground?

    Screenshot (27).png

Note that the words seem to disappear as the blue becomes more important?

    How can I fix it?

In addition, since I work more than 30 plans, is there a general framework that needs to be changed?

Furthermore, this gradient was created using the gradient tool, and is therefore not part of the background.

Under file-> Document Setup, I found that you can create a background Uni but see no options for a gradient fill.

    I would appreciate help.

I'm like your gradient is above the text.

Select your gradient and the hit Shift + Ctrl + [ ]

This should send your gradient to the back behind the text

  • How can I create a white border around figures that are in an image? (SC 6; examples + image included)

    Hello

I CS6 and wonder how to create a white border ('style BD'?) around figures in an image, as in the examples below. I do not want to include the black shadow of the border, just the white part.

    Examples:

    222751_476042639119513_838135935_n.jpg819380_477401102317000_1682868802_o.jpg793887_473135936076850_1500681175_o.jpg

Here is the image I want to change, make a white border the outline of all five digits:

    tumblr_m5t2gnJmHI1rw01h4o1_1280.png

I did the research for some time, but could find no instructions. It would be very much appreciated if anyone knows and wants to be good to share the technique! Thank you.

If you make the image a layer (opposite to background)...

You could choose the blue with the magic wand, as Semaphoric says, then fill it with white.  Then choose Select - change the selection - contract and hide or delete the remaining pixels.  The operation of contract will give you a nice border size you choose.

For extra credit, you can use refine edge to increase the reliability of the selection.

Click here to see the image on a dark background.

  • How to create a pattern gradient in Illustrator

I don't know the best way to describe what it is, so I'm the appellant a "gradient pattern. Basically, I'm trying to figure out how to make a gradient like the one in the photo, where the forms are located in the upper part and disperse evenly down. Any advice on this is appreciated, thanks!7426_Techfit_Primeknit_MF.png

It does not really resemble a traditional mask opacity job for me because there is no actual all bland, its more to do with the gradual change of size and spacing of the forms in the model. an opacity mask would be a great way to face fading from 100% to 0% in the tone of a model, but it could probably be done with future adjustments easier to 'fill' just a model with a shade of color gradient?

There was some discussion recently that resembled halftone patterns and a guy showed how to use different (other than the default points) forms under the mixed model that would achieve the result of half of this design superior. you will have to look a few threads of halftone pattern to identify it.

as a simple manual option you could just draw the shape on top, then scale and adjust one down and use a form to make a "column of the model, then repeat it across the page.

the lower part dotty looks more like a traditional model of halftone, Phantasm plugin allows great control of things like that, or you can just play with a radial gradient black and white as a fill of a circle and use the model of half-tone effect to create the points.

  • I need help to create a complex gradient

There are two things I'm looking in practice. I want to create a color wheel that you would see in a photo editing application. I want to have a ring around a triangular shape gradient in the gradient.

    1. I managed to make the ring, but as shown in the screenshot, the colors of repeat. I want every color to appear only once.

    2. This is the part that I am really confused. I need a gradient of three tracks for saturation, darkness and lightness. How can I do this?

    Screenshot.png

For the ring, all you need to do is change the gradient to linear. You already 'Apply gradient along the race' selected. You should also end the gradient of the same color (red) that you started with, so it changes abruptly to red magenta.

For the triangle, just make a [color] degraded white going a direction and an opaque black to transparent black gradient going in another direction.

  • How to create a uniform gradient w / Soft Edge & filter

    FaqHeader2.png

Hello, Im using photoshop 6 and Im trying to apply an effect to a photo of the banner, which will be compatible for more pictures of the banner of the same size.

I have attached a picture of this.

As you can see the gradient (which contains the text) starts with a gray and then white. The right edge that meets the blue sky is not a hard edge but rather a soft edge.

I'm not sure how to create that soft edge. Someone else had mentioned to use the gradient with colors of gray to white then to transparent to create this right edge soft.  I'm not sure how to implement that.

I used a brush in this case, and as you can see, the line is uneven.

Also, I think that the filter used here is ripple or Ocean Ripple.

I was hoping if someone could guide me through what would be the correct steps to create this effect, so that I can use systematically for several photos

Oh, I see, 6 PS. The pieces here on the layers of filling and the Layer Styles does not apply, but mounting method is the same:

    ---------------------------------------------------

First, open the gradient editor by clicking on the gradient in the toolbar of the dialog for a gradient fill layer or options:

Set up a gradient of gray and white, then add a transparent stop just not the white judgment:

Enter a name and click "New" to save him. You can also save as part of a layer with Gradient Overlay Style.
