Create, delete the folder in the application server

Hello

I'm new in Oracle forms. My version is forms [32 bit] Version 9.0.2.12.2 (Production), and AS it is WINNING.
I need to create a folder in the AS and after that I want to delete this folder.

1. is there a way to create a folder (directory) in the ACE? I have to check if this folder is present.
If absent, I have to create it.
If present, then rename it and create another directory with the original name.

2. is it possible to delete the record in SA? If possible, what is the way?

3. I confused what are the differences between TEXT_IO & UTL_FILE. If any times that use functions/packages?

Can someone help me please? Any response is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thank you

Fabien

try adding a space after the run.bat. It is a common mistake when trying dynamic query in a string, so always print your final string on the screen or elsewhere to see if the syntax is correct.

    First of all, your username cannot be changed and it is not a good idea to have visible on any forum email addresses, unless you like to read the spam.

    This issue is addressed in the online help. When you create an output that it is generated in any folder you specify in the source schema. What is in this folder go to the server.

    If help is in! SSL! > WebHelp, so everything in this folder, including subfolders is what it takes to go to the server.

  • Webutil - deleting files from the application server

    Is there a Webutil function that will erase the files from the application server?

    I tried Webutil_file. Delete_File but it doesn't seem to work. Not quite sure if it's for customer files?

    Thank you
    Paul

    Hello
    Why don't you use HOST or WEBUTIL_HOST command to delete files of APPLICATION SERVER for example...

    HOST('DEL FILEPATH\FILENAME.EXT');
    or
    HOST('CMD /C DEL FILEPATH\FILENAME.EXT');

    or

    WEBUTIL_HOST('DEL FILEPATH\FILENAME.EXT');
    or
    WEBUTIL_HOST('CMD /C DEL FILEPATH\FILENAME.EXT');

    Function Webutil_File works on the client side. See the documentation for webutil.

  • How to clear the Application Server Control logs?

    On the application server in 10g, 10g of database, Windows 2003 Operating System.

    Referring to http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10464_05/core.904/b10376/log.htm, Figure 4-1. I can see 12000 +++ lines dating back to before that I was hired. I'm trying to remove some of the papers, if possible. When I did Figure 4-6, location of repository Log - diagnosis/repository, I thought that the log files will be in FRHome1\diagnostics\respository; but there is no file in there. In fact nothing in this record.

    So my questions are:
    (1) where the logs for Application Server?
    (2) how to remove some of the newspapers?

    Thank you.

    Hello;

    I think that 2 August was my last post in this forum. By chance, I noticed this.

    Yes, they can be removed (say weekly or monthly cleaning)

    /U01/app/Oracle/product/midtier/WEBCACHE/logs/access_log.20100126_1542

    I run Linux and mine is here:

    /U01/app/Oracle/product/midtier/J2EE/OC4J_BI_Forms/log/OC4J_BI_Forms_default_island_1/default-Web-access.log

    To test I have renamed it to this:

    /U01/app/Oracle/product/midtier/J2EE/OC4J_BI_Forms/log/OC4J_BI_Forms_default_island_1/default-Web-access.logold

    IAS then stopped and restarted and it created: (from 0 bytes)

    /U01/app/Oracle/product/midtier/J2EE/OC4J_BI_Forms/log/OC4J_BI_Forms_default_island_1/default-Web-access.log

    So I think that you can delete them, but you should let iAS re-create. (In this way the permissions will be correct)

  • ' In the Application Server error ' / ' "error running FAMILY TREE MAKER 2011

    I used my Family Tree Maker 2011 then Microsoft packages update, now I can't access the Internet through Family Tree Maker 2011.

    Notes: The current error page you see may be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" of an application attribute tag configuration to point to a custom error page URL.

  • How to set the value of the value of the options in the application server

    Hi all

    I run the application that stores a set of options in the application server. (via BES)

    It is not store it on the local device.

    The use of the facility of service is not well understood.

    Is it also possible to use it to preserve such a configuration?

    Or, should I use as JSR-172 web services?

    Thank you

    Third-party applications can read of service books, but they cannot create or edit.  You could do a sleeve or a HTTP connection to your application server to store and read the options.  For an example, take a look at the httpdemo or the socketdemo provided with the BlackBerry JDE.

  • How to call static pages using web.show_document on the application server

    Hi all.

    I'm using forms / reports 11 g Rel2.

    I´d like to call it a few static pages of forms using web.show_document and have the pages located on the same machine where the application server is running.

    I know it's more a problem of Oracle HTTP Server configuration, but I want to know if I can use one of the default virtual directories already defined on the installation process.

    Please recommend a virtual directory to use.

    Best regards, Luis... :))

    Sure. You can store the files anywhere you want. Of course, it is easy to create a new virtual directory. But if you want to use an existing one, the most obvious likely would be the virtual path of/forms/html that can be found here:

    INSTANCE_HOME\config\FormsComponent\forms\html

    The url to access it would look something like this:

    http://server:port/forms/HTML/myWebPage.htm

  • Deploy to the Application Server is not on a distributed environment

    Hi all

    I try to configure the new verion Hyperion 11.1.2.2 on distributed environment, but during the configuration of the calculation to the failed server application manager and get error message like "deploy for Application Server has failed." I don't know what is the problem and how to fix it. I tried to read the log files, but I am not able to undersantd where to watch and to debug this issue.

    My Hyperion environment view as one below: -.

    1. I used Microsoft VMWARE to build my Enviornment Hyperion
    2 - I created 1 Server 2003 domain window and 4 clients in this domain. (All these systems have windows 2003 server is installed). I have the name given to each client server i.e. system A system B, System C system D
    3. I installed SQL 2005 and created data bases for all components of Hyperion that is Shared services, Manager of calculation, epma on a system
    5. I have installed and configured the services foundation and weblogic server on a system b. (in this system, I have installed and configured the SSP, weblogic, workspace and able to deployed application server on the same system)
    6. on a system, I am able to complete installation for hyperion Performance Management architect and Manager of calculation and be able to complete all the type of configuration for these two, but as soon as the system tries to configure all associated with the SERVER APPLICATION services that it fails to configure. On a configuration system summary page shows everything is configured, but APPLICATION SERVER says FAILED written on a red colored letters.

    I explored the log files and found that calculation Manager server application doesn't have to be deployed or to be deployed on the application server is not...

    Since then, I don't know where to look and how to debug this issue, I ask all friends of hyperion to help and guide me to debug as I tried to install this product since last Friday and still no out put...

    I'll be really grateful if someone sharing his wisdom to help me...

    Thanks to all in advance...

    Thank you

    start the PSADMIN and choose the option
    (6) Service configuration
    and then
    (1) configure Windows Service
    Provide the name of CRP, the appserver you want to start automatically as a service

    In the Administration of PeopleSoft Services menu option

  • storage of static content on the application server or Web server

    Hello
    Is it worth to separate the static content such as images, css on separate web server and application server.

    We use version10.0 of Oracle weblogic server.

    Please, share your experience.

    Thank you
    / Ashwani

    Decision to store static content on the Application Server or Server Web is dependent mainly on below facts.

    (1) total size of static content
    (2) frequency of use of static content
    (3) Machine accommodated for application server performance
    (4) the network speed between the Web and application servers
    (5) level of security of the information processing application and pages
    (6) is static content created on demand?
    (7) review delays in deployment and added additional efforts.

    Let me know, if you can understand this impact on decisions facts? another I'll spend the time to write more.

    My connection is set up from the following:
    Connection type: Oracle Application Server 10 g 10.1.3
    Username: oc4jadmin
    Password: #.
    Connection for: Single Instance
    HostName: 10.251.28.21
    OPMN Port: 6203
    OC4J Instance: oafm

    When I test the connection, I get the following response:
    Error getting remote MBeanServer to url: ormi://ihrms03:25515 / default:
    Read the application client descriptor error: communication error with server: oc4j: internal/ResourceFinder not found; nested exception is:

    + javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: oc4j: internal/ResourceFinder not found.

    WEIRD THING IS THAT I am able to connect to an Instance of Production! I have no idea how this happens...!

    Y at - it a config I'm missing? Any file somewhere that is missing some configuration settings?

    Pleaseeeee advice?

    Thanks in advance to 1 million!

  • Name of the application server on window

    Hello
    Is it possible to get the name of the application server somehow during the execution of a form (Forms 10 g 2). We want to show in a matter of window.
    Is see no possibilities get_application_property or webutil functions that can do the job.

    Best regards Erik

    There are several ways in which it can be done. However, the exact way depend on the platform and the method you prefer. Here are a few options:

    OPTION 1:_
    Create a variable in default.env which contains the host name. For example:

    Host name = myMachine

    In your form, you can retrieve this value by using the following:

    TOOL_ENV. GetVar ("HOSTNAME", unevariable);

    OPTION 2:_
    Get the information from view V_$ SESSION. Needed to use this method, users CHOOSE to view or you can create your own. For example, something like this:

    Declare
         the_host     varchar2(255);
         this_user     varchar2(255);
    Begin
         this_user := GET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY(USERNAME);
         select distinct machine into the_host from v$session where username = this_user and program LIKE 'frmweb%';
         MESSAGE (the_host);
    End;

    OPTION 3:_
    Import the necessary java into your application and call it to retrieve the host name. There are many examples of java code on the Internet.

    http://www.Google.com/search?q=Java+get+hostname

    Be sure to compile the code using the version of java used in the version of the application server that you are using. Here are the versions of java:

    10.1.2 application server: use JDK 1.4.2
    Server applications (FMw) 11.1.1: use JDK 1.6.0

    If you try to compile the java with a newer version than the version used by the Oracle Home, your code may not work correctly or may not import correctly into the form.

    There are probably many other ways to accomplish what you want. I hope this helps :)

  • version of the application server to be installed to make use of the package-srw

    Hello

    If we have 9.2. version of the database, is there a specific version of the reporting services must be installed in order to use the srw package?

    Thank you
    Sisi

    Sisi,
    The package SRW is a built-ins primary packaging in the Oracle reports. It is available in all versions of reports since the 2.5 version (at least that's when I started to use the reports and the package was there). :-) I think the more appropriate question is: which version of reports is your report created with files and use this version on the server. If you configure the Application Server for the first time and you will begin to develop reports using Oracle reports Builder, then I suggest to use the latest version of Oracle (10 g version) reports.

    I hope this helps.
