Create several Managed server or install different WLS

We have a loadbalancer and we intend to distribute the load to the various nodes, what is recommended and what is the difference if I install a WLS home with several managed server and deply our web application for them or install mutiple WLS home with a managed server and deploy our webapplication on each of them?

You can use these facilities (several areas WLS with a managed servers) or a WLS domain with several managed servers. But a field with several managed servers installation type is the best option. In this way, you can create your cluster and replication of session between managed servers easly.

Have the other hand, if you use several domain WLS with only a managed server, you must provide the session on the load balancer settings. But as I mentioned previously, an area of WLs is the best, otherwise, you will have several servers admin to manage your managed servers.

    A conflict between the port of the server and the default administration port is originally not not the server starts reflected by this error messages.

    Essentially two processes try to use the same port, and even if it is not clearly specified in the documentation of WLS, each server uses port 9002 as default administration port.
    This problem can be solved by changing the ' Port of local directors of substitution: "the server in conflict to a different value for each server in the same machine:

    Sign in to the administration Console
    Expand "environment-> servers.
    Select the appropriate server
    In the 'Général' tab, expand the advanced option
    Change the value of: "replace local Port Administration:' '.

    My Adminserver is pointed to JDK 1.7 which is shown in the start, but my managed servers point to a different 1.6_43. We are running Java version mismatch problem while deploying our application created with jdk 1.7 on these managed servers. How can I change the version of my managed server?

    Hi Sam,

    You usually only have to change it in two places.

    DOMAIN_HOME/bin/setDomainEnv.sh and MW_HOME/wlserver_12.1/common/bin/commEnv.sh

    See the examples below.

    If you are on Linux, you can address it quickly. For example:

    cd /u01/app/oracle/product/fmw
find . -type f -exec sed -i "s/\/u01\/app\/oracle\/product\/jdk1.6.0_39/\/u01\/app\/oracle\/product\/java_current/g" {} \;

    It's a good idea to do a softlink to your installation of Java, so you will not have this problem in the future. If you are on Windows, you can use a symlink.

    Yes, the user was already part of the admin groups. In any case, using even install Setup, I was able to install Mirage 5.4 with no problems. Don't know which increased with 5.3.

  • Use different managed server Java version?

    Hello, I would like to put a server managed to run a Java version different from that set for its WebLogic domain. Could not find anything in the docs on how to do it. But it seems that Start Server properties > JAVA_HOME would solve this. After assigning a different path than the rest of the field, I find that the config.xml file is updated with this setting. But running a ps - ef shows always using the original version. Tried to restart the managed server and the domain, but still uses the original version. Does anyone know how to set it?

    Server startup parameter only affects the JVM settings, but not the actual path of the used java.

    So, as I did it was like this:

    Create the button and open the code for this button.  Create a click action.  In the code pane, paste this:

    That what is empty the existing vcontainer and place a new one with the new youtube video.  You can add this to many buttons that you obviously want change the URL ID for each, and it must exchange the video for you with a click.

    var youtube2 and vcontainer2, but it did not work...

    So I tried to move my first vcontainer to the second position in my page adding a label "button2":

  • create cluster and the addition of Managed server

    Hi all
    I created an area that has only adminServer. I created using config wizard and used the Oracle Service Bus option - 11.1.14(Oracle-OSB1). In the next screen, I have deleted creating managed server (Oracle_OSB1).
    I ended up having just adminserver.

    Now, I want to expand this area with adminserver to add the managed server and cluster.
    Any suggestion/documentation will be very useful.

    OK, in case you do not want to add any additional products/services then it is possible to do using config wizard. There are many other options available. Please see the section "configuration of cluster methods;

    Suppose I have a test env where in I guess frequently to restart services, so I better go for one option run as I would not waste my time with the stopping and starting of services.

    Note that this will have high load of RAM that you should start the service even if you don't need that.

    Suppose prod where, in recycling service is a rare phenomenon, I'd rather go each managed server as this will reduce the chances of my apps all get damaged if the managed server is corrupted, also I can better control services.

    I am facing a problem when you start the managed server. I've specified the directory root as/var/opt/bea / < DomainName > / < servername > tab to start server in the administration console. I kept running node Manager.

    My env details are as below:

    BEA HOME page: / opt/bea

    AREAS of DIRECTORY: / opt/bea/areas / < DomainName >



    Once I start the server managed from the administration console, the node Manager log becomes with the message as below:

    In fact up to 7,0 WLS wls always used to create the domain within the BEA dir install dir only.
    but we can specify the directory of area outside the facility of dir BEA WLS 8.1.
    It's the only relevance for the different directory for a domain you can specify the domain root dir anywhere on the file system.

    Now the root directory server the only relevance to the root directory of the server is different from the root dir field is when you have your domain distributed on different machines.
    For example: If you have a domain with a server and administrator on a Machine and a server run on the B Machine.
    Then you can't have root directory of the managed server, the directory of the domain as the root directory of the domain will reside on computer A and Managed Server Root Dir will reside on the Machine B.

    And if you start the managed using the node Manager server and that you have not specified that the directory root of the Managed Server through the java_option then by default the root directory of the managed server will be created with in the nodemanager/common/WLS_HOME directory on computer B.

    And if you managed servers in different domains on the same Machine B therefore all managed servers by default their directories root within the nodemanager dir which will make it difficult to recognize what managed server belongs to what field.

    Therefore, it is always recommended to have specific server root directories if the field is distributed on several machines.

    I have a fundamental question regarding the use of the JAVA virtual machine weblogic clustered.

    I have configured the cluster environment in a single Weblogic domain with 2 server managed in one box.

    In this case, the managed server 2 will share the same JVM or each managed server will have its own JVM?

    Hi Suresh,

    Each WLS server is a Java program... and he works on it's own JVM. That's why we have an option to assign different parameters heap and JVM tuning for WLS distinct cases, even if they are on the same physical machine or remotely.

    But this does not mean that you need to install JDK twice in your box for each managed server. Managed servers can use the same JAVA_HOME.
