Create thumbnails / resampling of image for DisplayImageFile?

Hi all

I tried to build a Panel to display several photos (50) to audit (double click to see the whole picture in a separate window) before downloading for final storage.

I need to re - sample / vignettes about adapted to the control so that the memory usage does not go through the roof. These images will be several cameras, and as such, the type of image can change - but from jpg would go the long way.

This can be as simple as a framework missed at the IUR, but I wasn't able to understand. I am not opposed to the creation of temporary thumbnail on HDD and clean them up later.

Prefer CVI or SDK ActiveX etc.

Thanks in advance,

Greg

A possibility that you have, which does not make use of any external piece of software, is in fact use a native image control to resize your images. The trick is to set the image control to the image size to load the picture in the control and call GetCtrlDisplayBitmap to get the bitmap equipped.

I wrote a small example which allow you to choose an image and it loads 48 times in small image controls: it takes less than four seconds to load a 300 x 300 pixel bitmap etPLUS or less 9 with a 900 x 1300 pixels png image.

You need not save thumbnail to disk, but the sample allows you to only choose to create files so that you can compare the execution times, see the thumbnails resulting on disk and decide what to do in your application.

  • Create thumbnail of the image later

    Hello, I have a script for importing images from a server and bind it in InDesign also some IDMS in the source text files and put in InDesign. The problem here is that this file can contain up to 1500 images with very large size that takes a long time to generate the InDesign file, so my question for this forum is:

    • Can we make quick image import process?
    • Can we generate thumbnail image later by script so quickly it generate InDesign file and later in the background to keep import images?
    • If so, then some may say how to do it?
    • If not, is there another way to achieve this?

    Note: Basically this script that I use in a flex extension InDesign.

    Not really as photoshop can't write in raw the camera file photo, just the car aside. However, if you are on windows, Microsoft has a camera raw driver for windows 7. I him have not tested with windows 8.

    If you can't find it, let me know and I'll see if I still have the link somewhere.

  • Why didn't I no default to the photo gallery Windows for my photo thumbnails appear as images instead of icons. __

    I changed - restored - manipulated... want all files to be opened in Corel paint photo... initially changed only jpg images - when the thumbnails showed corel incontinence instead of the photo... I changed all the Windows Photo Gallery open to defaul to corel.

    I followed the instructions for classic and miniature records - I searched and tried everything suggested here that I found... and yet I can show only thumbnails if Windows Photo Gallery is the default.

    Once I have by default and return to the default value of painting Corel thumbnails are photos instead of icons - but as soon as I open and change the file jpg in corel - the thumbnail displays the icon - unless I go back to the default Windows Photo Gallery - then go back...

    Windows Vista - sp1... have not yet installed the sp2 yet - I'll have to uninstall Windows Photo Gallery?... or is it still possible

    I don't know anything about Corel paint.

    Here's how to have thumbnails shown instead of the Vista icons:

    Click the Start button > in the search box, type options records > at the top, click on view > uncheck "always show icons, never thumbnails > click OK"

    You can do in PSE.

    1. Do the math to see how much space you'll need on your canvas to the image and text.
    2. Navigate to the file queue > new.blank. Enter the width & height, background color, resolution 72 px / in. It is your canvas, and in the layers palette will be the background layer.
    3. Copy and paste the image. It turns on a separate layer
    4. Activate the tool move, position the image and resize if necessary
    5. Activate the text tool, and then type your text. It will be on a separate so layer
    6. Position the text.
    7. Flatten layers and go to file > save for web. I'm usually on the long side about 800 px. Don't forget to check "constrain proportions". Adjust the quality slider to suit. You will probably want the type of JPEG file for web work.

  • File extensions do not created when saving images for the web, using the slice, Photoshop CS4-slice tool

    Working with slices in Photoshop

    When I save slices through "Except for web devices", in PS, the resulting images are file extensions but appear to be image files.  I can open in Windows Gallery Viewer and see them however, they have no icon other than a blank page icon, not the usual png or jpg types.

    To solve this problem I added manually .png and .jpg those pristine images through their file names. It seems to work very well for the resolution of jpg files.  In addition, when registering via 'Save for web devices' slices I chose manually imput to the second field and following: PNG or jpg.  This results in the names of files with .jpg but not .png [both png12 and png24]

    When you save slices:

    1. choose the file type

    2 save

    3. internal record Panel: choose:

    (a) image only

    (b) Selected slices [or user slices - as seem to have similar results]

    (c) in the settings: other:

    (i) disable: copy the background image and create the image folder

    (II) for the file nameing use: slice of name and in the second field, add the file extension: jpg or png.

    PNG FILES

    I seem to have problems to import any .png file, created from slices via 'Save for web devices' method, in PS and Fireworks.  However, I do not seem to be able to import them into Illustrator and Indd.

    I want to do is to be able to create slices PNG and JPG files and follow the method "Save via web devices" without having to become an expert in all the options in the Save Panel.  And then be able to import it into Fireworks or in PS.

    Is there something in the preferences that needs to address, or there at - it a bug of sumfink?

    To solve the problem of file extention:

    1. When you save file slots in the Panel 'Save for web devices' and 'Save' Panel appears. Then, you click on 'other' in the settings and do appear the file naming options panel.  Make sure you keep ".ext" in the substantive area of naming options.

    Yes, that's the error.  Now file for .png extensions are created and therefore work OK in Fireworks and Psalm

  • Get the thumbnail of the file for ListView

    Is there a way to get the thumbnail of an image? I have a listview showing the list of selected images and I want to display the thumbnail and the name of the file. Here's what I have so far

    I let the user select a picture through the file picker that returns only the path of file then I go this path in a method to add it to the datamodel.

    CPP file: I spend in the path of the image file that has been selected

                QVariantMap itemMap;
            QFileInfo fileInfo = QFileInfo(filePath);
            itemMap["name"] = QVariant(fileInfo.fileName());
            itemMap["image"] = QVariant(fileInfo.filePath());

            if (indexOf(itemMap) == -1)
            {
                   insert(0, itemMap);
             }

    ListItem QML

    StandardListItem
    {
        id:pictureItem
        title: ListItemData.name
        imageSpaceReserved: true
        imagesource: ListItemData.image

    }

    I'm pretty new to this so I have a feeling strong on this issue, I'm going the wrong way, but I noticed that I get an error message saying: he can't access element of . My thought was that the image space would diminish the image to fit the placeholder

    For the error do you put the permission to access_shared?

    I suggest that you should be creating thumbnails of images, save them in the folder of application data and update the image of ListItem.

    If you experience a delay when filling ListView, then you must think of preloading images and caching.

  • Create thumbnails and pdf low resolution

    We have an archive of 3000 + PDF in high resolution, ready to print and new come every day.
    Some of them are 80 + Mb in size.

    We want to put these available for download, but in low resolution.
    Can someone tell me how I can

    -Downsample pdf high resolution low resolution as PDF files, have 72 dpi images.
    -Excerpt from the first page in PDF in low resolution.
    -Create thumbnails of the first page, in jpg format, width: 200px.

    I tried many solutions already ghostscript iText, acrobat pro, pdf2image and cfx_pdf.
    All of these programs seem to give nice results at first sight, but all have let me down.
    They cannot manage jpeg2000, add borders and invisible to the pdf layers, etc.

    We are working currently with automate and acrobat pro, but acrobat crashes all the time.

    We are looking for something reliable that we can run ColdFusion with Java/COM or command prompt.

    I'd like to hear your comments, thank you in advance.

    Hello

    I found the solution I was looking for.
    I'll post here so if anyone has the same problem, it doesn't have to waste time, I did.

    You will need 1 program and 2 plug-ins, all of them are not free to say the least.
    -Adobe Acrobat Professional
    -A box of stuff ( http://www.quite.com/box/) -200 EUROS
    -Autobatch ( http://www.evermap.com/autobatch.asp) -120 EUROS

    These tools allow to downsample a whole repertoire of PDFs from the command line (CLI) at 72 dpi.

    You can create a 'batch' with "a box of stuff" so it won't be to downsample the images in a PDF document at 72 dpi.
    Autobatch is a program that creates batch (.bat) files that run in "batch processing" in acrobat professional.
    ColdFusion can run this batch file, and you can create a scheduled task to do it regularly.

    However this solution only works on Windows and Mac.
    You must run a free operating system, write a letter to Adobe to convince them to free Acrobat professional on linux, * BSD, whatever. Because they should.

  • How can I use a JPEG file as a background image for my vi to 8.5

    Im working on a vi that I intend to help as part of an alarm system.  I would use a JPEG file of my house as a background image for the vi, or possibly to just display in a window on the control panel.  I've seen people use their own images before, but never looked at what it was.

    Im trying to use the 'read JPEG' file vi and the flattened pixmap 'draw' vi to achieve this.  The vi works, but nothing shows up on the front panel.  If I try to create a "new image" flag out of the flattened pixmap 'draw' vi, I get a blank white window on the front panel.

    Any advice?

    Thank you

    The image could be there just not to come to the right place in the image control. What is the control relative to the image? Must be a JPEG file or can you just copy as a bitmap to the Clipboard and paste it on the front panel? Can you put a photo and the unworking VI?

  • Create a very large file for printing

    Hello world

    I need to create a VERY BIG file for printing.  The final print will be 148 "height x 124" wide. I tried to find a way to build it. I created all the graphics vector and enlarge the photos to a size that can be included, but whenever I try to create this file it fills the disk of my work and I can't perform no action.  I also tried to create in Illustrator, but I'm not too good with Illustrator that I am Photoshop and honestly have NO idea how to proceed.

    Anyone can guide me please thanks to this? It is due to this evening and I'm really at a huge loss.

    Thank you in advance!

    OK this isn't a huge size - but if you are struggling on your system with it, you could do like Mellissa and build it in stages, thereby minimizing the layers in the final assembly.  You could also work in 8 bits rather than 16 bits to assemble the image print - it will be half of the memory required.

  • Hover change - and normal images for buttons

    Hello together!

    We try to change the images of our buttons. To change the hover - and normal images with functions. Now, if we change the old with new good images in the data structure (c drive), it is not all changes in Adobe Captivate at the end.

    How can I change the hover and normal images using the main data structure of Adobe Captivate in the disk (c)?

    Yours sincerely

    HSS Sursee, Switzerland

    Custom themes are saved in 'your' folder (depends on the OS you are using), not in the Captivate installation folder. There is a logical reason: not all CP-users have access to the installation files at all. Which does not allows you to set a custom in the default theme theme. I do it all the time.

    You can use the old type of buttons, buttons image in your case, or fill a shape with an image button. The first type needs you to create 3 images for each State, with specific names such as image buttons, you will see in the subfolder of the Gallery: name_up, name_over and name_down. You can then set them as default button style using the Style of the object manager. Be sure to save the theme with a custom name.  For form buttons, take a look on:

    Turn an Image into a button - Captivate blog

    Only on quizzes and Score sliding buttons can be replaced by a form button. After creating the button style you want (image button or form button) and set as the default button style, any button, you add will have this style. You can check out the slide masters as well and modify buttons here (as for slides of quiz/partition). All that will be saved in the theme.  You can even create a custom, theme color palette that will be available for all your courses:
