  I recommend you leave the catalog in the default location. It will work more efficiently and is relatively small in size compared to your image files. Just place all your photos in folders on external hard drive, then use Import > Add to align on Lightroom.

  The server was previously running Windows server 2003, but is no longer needed so I thought I could use it and get some experience of VMWare on the thumb.   I have connected a floppy with the drivers provided drive and loaded their place, but the drive still could not be detected.
