Created when saving an email on my hard drive

Hello

I copied a number of e-mails from Outlook on my hard drive by dragging them, that was the easy bit.

However, when they are stored on the hard drive, creation Date is the date where I copied the email and not the date when the email was sent or received.

Is it possible to have a column on my hard drive that shows the date when the email was created? This makes it much easier to search for a particular message.

Thank you

Hello

Please refer to the answer given by Diane Poremsky MVP (slipstick.com) on this link: How to keep the data from the "Date of shipment" and "Date of receipt" when copying messages from Outlook email to a folder in the Explorer?.

I created a folder music on an external hard drive connected to my asus router.  I copied my music from my iTunes library in this folder access and can now my kodi media network.  How I updated the folder when I do new iTunes purchase without having to do it one by one thanks

You can use a backup tool that updates only modified files.  You don't say what kind of computer you use.

ITunes is actively using media on the external hard drive so you can replace it. Simply copy the media to one other player does not have iTunes it use it.  iTunes is probably still using media to your internal drive.

  • If I saved photo on an external hard drive, now remove the laptop backup files to free up space?

If I saved photo on an external hard drive, I can now delete backup files from the laptop for free space - my 'E' drive is full and cannot run backups more.  Also other documents that have now been removed still have backups that I need?  How will I know what backup should I keep not individually through hundreds of files?  Thank you in advance.

Original title: can anyone help please?

    Hello

You can take a safe backup.

After you create your first backup, Windows backup will add new information or changed to your subsequent backups. If you save your backups on a hard drive or network, Windows backup will create a new backup, full for you automatically if necessary. If you save your backups on CDs or DVDs and could not find an existing backup disk, or if you want to create a new backup of all the files on your computer, you can create a full backup. Here's how to create a full backup:

    1. Open backup and restore by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking the backup and restore.

    2. In the left pane, click on create new, full backup.

How much RAM you have on your system? (Right click on "My Computer"-> properties)

As a general rule, Windows XP does not work well if you have less than 1 GB or more of RAM.  What usually happens is that your RAM capacity is exceeded leading to overflow on virtual memory (the drive) to compensate for the need of RAM in the computer.  This causes your system to beat on your hard drive and slow down your system.

If this is your problem, the options are to increase the RAM on your system or decrease the non-essential programs that launch at startup on your computer using a tool like Autoruns.

  • When I transfer files from my hard drive on a USB flash drive, the transfer rate is very slow, about 250 KB / second. Is it possible to increase the speed of transfer rate

When I transfer files from my hard drive on a USB flash drive, the transfer rate is very slow, about 250 KB / second. Is it possible to increase the speed of transfer rate

depends on the speed, support USB 2.0, USB 2.0 ports, and with active BIOS settings

    (2) you can increase the speed, if your motherbaord has a USB 3.0 port and must be enabled in the BIOS

  • Do I need to uninstall the applications when obtaining service for a new hard drive?

My second computer (home) is part of the recall of defective hard drive Apple. Do I need to uninstall my creative cloud apps before you consider to get the new hard drive, or will they get just wiped and then can I install again when he returns with the new hard drive?

Launch one of the installed applications, for example Photoshop and on the Help menu, choose disable. This will disable all applications installed via Creative Cloud.

I save exactly in the same way! First time I save is directly to the cloud... when I realized I lost the data I tried to save on my computer... both times I score way to save the layers. the ONLY difference is the location...

Well, that's precisely the location that counts!

This is the standard text often used for saving to a network (NOTE the part where he explains that normally, it works, but it is impossible to solve someone else on the network remotely, and that's why he didn't is not supported by Adobe):

If you open files on a network, or saved on a network server, please cease and desist immediately in the case where you currently have problems with one or more files. On a network is not supported.

    See:

    http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/406/kb406793.html

Copy the local file CLOSED your server hard disk, work on it, again to save it on your local hard drive, close it and copy the closed file on the server.

Of course, the fact that Adobe does not support work on a network does not necessarily mean that it doesn't work.  It should be.

Adobe position is that there are too many variables in a network environment for them to ensure that everything will work properly in all systems, particularly in view of the fact that that something will not work properly, it is probably the fault of the network, and Adobe has no way of troubleshooting of your network.

If you are unable to work locally, you are yourself, and if something happens, you're on your own. If you work from a server, make sure that your network administrator is a competent professional.

When problems arise, much valuable work can be lost.

  • When you try to create a system image on an external hard drive, I have an I/O error ox8078002A.

I use an HP Pavilion dv7 notebook PC and a 3 TB of Seagate external hard drive USB 3.0.  Operating system is Windows7 64 bit.  Support Microsoft suggests running chkdsk /R on the Seagate drive and I am currently doing this (time consuming).  Another post suggested trying another USB port, but producing the same result.  Any other suggestions?  Thank you.

I consulted the Seagate Support site and learned that the backup drive Seagate Plus will back up only data, not file system.  He is going back to the store.  Thanks to those who tried to help him.

  • After saving documents to an external hard drive, some of my programs are missing on my computer. I can't find Outlook Express.

I've been to the export of all my documents to an external hard drive all day... when I got back, some of my programs have disappeared too, especially my outlook express with all my emails (for the last ten years), is not in the programs, or in the menu... where at - it go?

original title: outlook express to go?

Have you looked in the control panel I suggested?

    1: enable hidden files.

Select Show files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

2: go to * c:\program files\outlook express\msimn.exe *. If you find, right-click on it and send to | Desktop (create shortcut). You can open OE?

If you can't find that, at the very least, you will need to do a repair installation, or perhaps to reinstall XP completely.

  • Transfer emails from old hard drive

I have the profile of an old e-mail account folder and try to open with an installation of thunderbird on a new system.

Ideally I would have just opened them when starting from the old hard drive, but for some reason any that it does not start properly (as soon as it starts to book all the USB devices power off).

Because it's just the profile folder and not a file exported or saved, I can't get anything in the new installation of Thunderbird to recognize the file. I think that all the data will be there (the file is has a few GB), I just need to be able to read.

I tried the methods already in the support pages, but they seem to require you to have exported preemptively profile or have something installed on the old hard drive to facilitate the transfer.

    Any help is appreciated massively

    See you soon,.

  • I want to backup my emails on my hard drive and not on my service provider site. Can you whan which setting I have to change for this?

I get an error message that I have reached my quota of email. I think that my emails are saved on the server Time_warner and not on my hard drive. Wharton setting I have to change to save my e-mail address on my hard drive?

    Thank you.

I looked on the Tools menu, click account settings, and then you click Server settings. Type of server has mail POP server name server pop - server.socal.rr.com.

Looks like I was saying to Thunderbird to save messages on the server. I'll turn off and clean my server from Time Warner.

    Thank you for your help.

  • I can't find how to save emails on my hard drive

I created a folder on a partition, but when I go into account settings to save best in the United Kingdom, it shows only a garbage can.

You try to do two things at the same time here.

Thunderbird saves its messages in its own message box. It does not use arbitrary files on the HARD drive. If that's where you're messages outside of Thunderbird, you must explicitly export it. This add-on:

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Thunderbird/addon/ImportExportTools/

can be useful by doing this.

However, if you want to move your message store (and many other things) to another location, watch the Thunderbird profile.

  • Satellite P750 PSAY1A: how to create the recovery Toshiba on the new HARD drive partition

    Hello

I have an old Toshiba Satellite P750 (PSAY1A-01Y022). I just upgraded my memory from 4 GB to 8 GB and am preparing to take my 500 GB HARD drive 1 TB. I had to order the disk online and wait to happen.

I always try to understand how to create the arrival of my new HARD drive Toshiba Recovery Partition. I do the same thing for an old book, I handled based on something similar to it's original factory State.

I have reflected on the recovery partition, but does not know how it was created. It is not NTFS. Does anyone have experience in the creation of a Toshiba Recovery on a new HARD drive Partition?

And the help is very appreciated.

    Thanks and regards,
    Dinesh

Recovery partition can be created when you use the original Toshiba Recovery disk and install recovery image. Before the partitions to boot OS install will be automatically created, recovery image copied on a recovery and then partition as last step recovery image installation starts.

A sort of migration of files from one to the other HARD disk is not solution.

Only for laptop with factory will work and the usable recovery partition.
