  NIDAQmxBase 3.6 installs VISA and 'C' interface via. \INSTALL, reports success, seems normal.

  cannot run lsdaq, FWUpdate or anything like that on the Menu of Applications National Instruments (NI-VISA submenu, OR Trace of IO.)

  My guess is that the permissions are always watered.

  You can group two or several wires together using the 'bundle' feature - the output is a cluster. This is the top of the example page.

  The other way is to drop the constand cluster and drag all the constants (like the digital and the chain) in the cluster. It is the example below in the extract of VI. You can also perform this operation in the façade - drop the constant of cluster on the façade and drag controls or indicators in it. They must be orders or the lights - you cannot have a mixture of the two.

  Also in case you are not familiar with the concept, if you are working with big clusters "enter def" them. In LV2011 cela by right-clicking on the block diagram by clicking "make type def. What it does is creates a separate file where the new cluster (or any other type of control) is saved. If you change the cluster - say then add a Boolean alogn with the digital and the channel - change occurs and spread through your program. This stops having broken you the son when you have two clusters wired together, you change one and not the other.

  Change the order of your service bundle or rearrange controls in your indicator "cluster."

  PS: Gerd added a third possible solution by creating a new indicator using the context menu and select Create > indicator for the output of the function of bundle. Remove the 'cluster' original flag.

  Can I automate creating a cluster in LabView using the data structure created in an auto generated. CSV, C header or XML file?  I am trying to take the data structure defined in one or more of these files listed and have LabView automatically create a cluster with structure types and the same data.  (Ideally, I would like to do it with a C header file only.)  Basically, I'm trying to avoid having to create the cluster by hand, as the number of cluster elements could be very large. I looked in EasyXML and contacted the rep for the add-on.  Unfortunately, this feature was not created yet.  Did anyone done something like this before? Thanks in advance for the help.

  I insert rows in a table from database as part of an effort to logging for our program.  The table in question has a lot of columns, many of which can be NULL at any given time.  As such, I would decide at run time (as situations warrant) columns that get a value when I add the new line.  The columns are of types of mixed data... strings, floats, some ints, etc.

  For example...

  • On one pass, I want to fill the columns 'temp', 'volume' and 'weight '.
  • On another pass, I can want to fill columns 'temp', 'color' and 'notes '.

  I have gen table of column names.  This part is easy

  What I did before, is to make a copy of "DB tools Insert Data.vi" and change internally in order to accept an array of variant instead of a cluster.  Then I can build programmatically to a picture of what I want insert, leaving the fields not used as Null.  A few years ago when I did, but I think it was pretty easy to do.

  Yes they can both be in the same cluster, but check if you can vMotion manually in order to test the DRS.

  However, as ESX 4 has a new version of virtual machine (7) If you upgrade your virtual machines at this level they don't work on ESX 3.5 again. The upgrade is irreversible so delay until all your hosts are ESX4 before the upgrade.

  Here is the code snippet to create a cluster with DRS options. To activate the options of DRS and setting default virtual machine behavior, you must set the property drsConfig instead of drsVmConfigSpec. The 'drsVmConfigSpec' property must be set when you change the configuration of the cluster, and you want to change for a particular virtual machine DRS.

  The code below will create a cluster, select the DRS and will set the level of automation on "manual".

  I have been using VMware Workstation for some years both for personal and professional purposes.

  I would like to convert my Linux host with multiple virtual machines to vSphere Hypervisor server with all my existing virtual machines and data.

  I currently have a Ubuntu 10.10 desktop on which I run Workstation 8 to host multiple virtual machines to Linux as a WebSphere Portal cluster (LDAP, DB2, ND, Portal 2 nodes). I also use it to host a VortexBox VM that contains my music collection. The audio files are not in the hard of the VortexBox, but are accessed through a sharing of the host folder. I have also several years of photos and documents on the host system.

  The material consists of:

  Motherboard Asus M4A785TD-V

  Corsair XMS3 16 GB

  Intel PWLA8391GTBLK PRO/1000 GT Desktop Network adapt

  1 x Hitachi 1 TB (empty)

  1 x Seagate 160 GB (photos, video)

  2 x Seagate 300 GB (Ubuntu, music, data, VMs)

  I am very new to vSphere. What I did was install vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi 5) on a USB 8 GB on the above system and created a store of data of the 1 TB drive.

  I also installed vSphere Client on a virtual Windows XP machine running on my MacBook; that I used to create the data store.

  Can someone provide measures of high level on how to proceed?

  I have an external hard drive on which I can copy existing virtual machines to deploy to the host of vSphere through Workstation 8.

  My main concern is the best way to keep my collection of music/photo/video to make it accessible by the VM VortexBox.

  ESXi must work so that the converter convert and move them to ESXi. Since it is the same dialog that VMware Workstation works on, it would mean that Ubuntu and workstation are turned off. You convert the raw files to workstation (which takes care of the tool). This will probably mean temporarily copy workstation virtual machine files to a temporary location.

  Eventually no matter. But remember that since ESXi must be executed, you can have the two ESXi running AND Ubuntu/workstation at the same time on the same box, so in your case, wouldn't be able to do this. Another option exports all the VMS to the models of the FVO (for an external HARD drive), and then once ESXi is running, import the OVFs.

  Although it is technically possible to have a linux format hard drive visible to virtual machines (such as a ROW), it is very unusual and massively overcomplicates things. The best thing to do would be to move the data on the hard drive temporarily, format them as VMFS data stores and then only move the data back ontop readers in a virtual hard drive. To do this way, you get all the benefits of virtualization (eg. being able to easily move this virtual hard disk on different volumes and attach easily to different virtual machines, etc.). It's a little pain in the short term, but the long-term gain.

  A NAS and file server are essentially the same. There is nothing more an operating system that data sharing. They all use the same protocol for sharing (samba, CIFS, iSCSI, etc.), so it does not matter in general. But yes, typically performance based most NAS on Linux OSs, so yes, it's finally sitting on a file system (ext2/3/4) of Linux. Which shouldn't matter however, as long as your other machines can access the data. If I were you, I would buy a consumer NAS (which will offer more storage and can be extended), or configure a simple VM (like FreeNAS or other) and just give him a big a VHD.
