Creating a Custom Windows 8. ISO

I'm essentially looking for an alternative to the RT7Lite since they stopped developing the software and it does not support Windows 8.

My goal is to set up a new installation of Windows 8 and tweak to my preferences, including the latest updates installed and software program so that in the future if I need to re - install Windows 8 or reformat my hard drive I can just pop in my disk .iso and re - install without having to spend the rest of the day back - set up my PC.

I'm not interested to synchronize my settings for the "Cloud" because I am a user of PC back and I do not want my configurations/files stored on the Internet where potential hackers can access my sensitive data.

Anyone know of any other option (preferably free and open source), or Windows 8 provides a built-in utility in order to just ask?

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and I appreciate any help in this matter.

In the Windows XP Explorer: is there a way to create a custom button so that no matter where you are in a different drive, directory and subdirectory... all you have to do is click on the custom button and return to your default directory?  If this is not the case, is a custom button another way to do it.  Currently, I click on the [Back] button or use the button [Back] drop down to return to the default value.  Ok, but not really okay because it takes a click and return to the default value.

    Hi Steven Geib,

Unfortunately, the service back to the default directory is not present in Windows, and as it is a design, there is nothing we can do from our end.

If you want to suggest changes in the design here is the link you can make reference to: return products.

As an alternative, you can use the tree view in Windows Explorer instead of back to the desired location in windows Explorer.

  • Trying to create a bootable Windows 7 x 64 Flash drive. Get the "invalid MS-DOS function" error message when you try to copy the file 'bootsect.exe.mui' of the Windows ISO on Flash drive

The title pretty much everything said.  I have an installer the ISO of Windows 7 Professional x 64.  I am trying to create a bootable flash drive using these instructions:

    http://www.OSNews.com/story/20795/Installing_Windows_7_on_the_Aspire_One_or_Any_Other_Netbook

I followed all the steps in the guide without problem.  Windows Explorer shows the drive is NTFS.  I can copy all other files of ISO on the FlashDrive without problem.  Only, I can't copy this file.  I tried to copy it to my hard drive rather than on the flash drive, and it still does not work.

I tried to create a file with the same name by using Notepad to see if there was a problem with the file name.  I can copy this file on my hard drive flash drive, but I can't always copy the ISO file.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 edition and using a Corsair Flash Voyager 16 GB flash drive.

  • creating a Windows 7 .iso image

I want to create a Windows 7 .iso image, so I can load it on a USB key.  I have Windows 7 currently on my computer, I have the Windows 7 upgrade disk that I bought at retail.  If I had downloaded Windows 7 from the Microsoft Store I could have downloaded the iso file - is it possible now to create this iso file or my drive upgrade or my Windows 7 system load?

One of the things that the OP asked was an iso of the loaded image.

I him have not tried, but if I plug my USB flash drive before you begin to "Create a system image", is one of the options shown in the drop-down list as to where I can save the iso.

But when you make a Windows 7 system image it does not create an ISO file. ISO is an image of a CD or DVD and not the same thing as a system. While both use the word 'image', they are very different.

To make a bootable flash drive to install Windows 7, which is what he wants, you must copy the installation DVD.

Copy/imaging system installed will not work, but it allows you to restore Windows 7 in its current state instead of install Windows 7.

    Thank you!

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do not click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.

What security (firewall, antivirus) software do you have?

Some security software has virtualization or sandbox features that can cause problems to protect and restore files in the Firefox profile folder.

  • Error creating ImageAssist USB Bootable or ISO Media

    Hey guys -.

I'm new on the ImageAssist and work on using it for our company.  I build my base on one Cluster Hyper-V to create an ISO bootable is a much better solution than a USB bootable for me.  The problem is, I get an error when you try to create.

I downloaded, extracted and installed the latest ImageAssist on an E6440 laptop computer with a new installation of Windows 7 x 64 enterprise on it and all the drivers installed.  I launched ImageAssist, then went to create the bootable USB key.  With a disc inserted, I selectionner select in the list, choose NTFS (get the same error with grease) and create materials.

I confirm the action to throw the disc start creating and copying files.  A few minutes later, it seems at the end and a dialog box appears showing 'USB Drive creation... ". ImageAssist editing environment / / / failed.  Despite the message, the reader seems to work at least partially as I can boot to it.

When you try to create an ISO by running DVD_Restore_Archetect.exe / ISO from a command line, I get the exact same message.  In the window of the newspaper, it is said that an ISO named C:\Dell...iso has been created, but there is no ISO to the root file when you are finished / I get the error.

Any idea of that which is the cause of occur?  Thank you!

That said some USB keys and ports may run more slowly and cause problems with the DISM process to set up and modify the WIM to boot WinPE. Sometimes using another USB drive and or port can solve these types of problems.

  • How to get windows 7 ISO for computer laptop w/win 7 preinstalled, upgrade to win 10 in July, recently replace HD / reinstalled win 10

Dell Inspiron N5010, windows 7-64 bit preinstalled when you purchase. one of the first free updates for windows 10 in July. recently replaced (fatal) of hard drive and reinstalled windows 10. I'm trying to get an ISO of windows 7.  This has proved to be quite difficult. my attempt to replace my hard drive using the old product key failed because the site does not accept the keys to the pre-installed versions.  If I understand it well in an article I read it says that when I upgraded to win 7 to win 10 product key remained the same. However, when my hard drive has been replaced and windows re-installed 10 this product key has been replaced with a digital license.  I have 3, possibly 4 questions: 1) has my product key now a digital license? 2.) If Yes, this digital license can be used for windows 7 ISO? If Yes, where can I find the digital license? (4.) If none of the above, any suggestions how I can get a copy of windows 7 Iso? I am very frustrated and ideas.

    Thanks VeeW

When you upgraded from a previous version of Windows or get a new PC preinstalled with Windows 10, what has happened is that the hardware (your PC) will get a digital right, a unique signature of the computer which is stored on the Microsoft Activation servers. The real Windows 7 or Windows 8 license you were using previously will be exchanged with a key to the diagnosis.

Whenever you need to reinstall Windows 10 on this machine, go just to reinstall Windows 10. It automatically reactivates.

Therefore, there is no need to know or get a product key, if you must reinstall Windows 10, you can use your Windows 7 or Windows 8 product key or use the reset function in Windows 10.

If you are prompted to enter a product key, click on "I don't have a key" and "do it later".

Even when you switch to Windows 10, you can return to Windows 7 at any time. Get Windows 7 reinstall media will be dependent on certain factors.

1: you may contact Dell to recovery media:

  • The windows 10 ISO file will still work to upgrade my computer to Windows 7 after the date limit to install the free version?

    Original title: upgrade Windows 10

I made an iso file for windows 10. I am waiting to upgrade until all the bugs are being developed. My question is: will the iso file of windows 10 still work to upgrade my computer to windows 7 after the date limit to install the free version?

The ISO will work after the date limit, but you can buy Windows 10 after the date limit, if you don't improve and activate it before that date.

Windows 10 is delivered as a service:

    Windows July 10 release - build 10240

    Windows Update 10 November - build 10586 (with many updates depuis.13,.29,. 36)

If you want to take advantage of the free offer, you must do so before July 29, 2016.

If you the newer versions are released before then, you can always download and install when it becomes available.

You could also install it now then download updates via Windows Update as soon as they are available.

    Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

    then

    then

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).
  • Windows 7 ISO has only 32-bit, 64-bit version

I bought Windows 7 Professional earlier this year.  ISO I downloaed (backup DVD of NO) has only the 32-bit version on it.  I can install Windows 7 Professional 64-bit?

Download Windows 7 Professional 32-bit or 64-bit. ISO and follow the instructions below to create your own installation DVD. You will always use the product key that you got, but the DVD will be created from the. ISO file that you download.

    32-bit Digital River: http://msft-dnl.digitalrivercontent.net/msvista/pub/X15-65804/X15-65804.iso

Check it. Downloaded ISO file is not corrupted:
Download and install of SlavaSoft HashCalc
    HASH, CRC, AND HMAC CALCULATOR
    http://www.SlavaSoft.com/HashCalc/index.htm

For Windows. ISO file just place checkmarks in the boxes of SHA1 and CRC32. In the main window of HashCalc "data format" box located in the top left corner should be set to "file".

In the 'Data' field, click on the... located at the top right and then click 'Cancel' If you get a "Insert disk" window pop up. After clicking cancle, you should see a window 'find '. This allows you to navigate to the folder where your. ISO file is stored and click on the file. You should now see the. ISO file that you clicked on listed in the box 'File name' located at the bottom of the "Find" window Now click on the button 'open '. The data field should now show the path of the directory/folder and the name of the. You have selected the ISO file.

With only the SHA1 and CRC32 checkboxes are checked (do not place check marks in all the other boxes as this can slow the time it take to calculate values) click on the 'Calculate' button at the bottom of the main window of HashCalc.

It will take anywhere from 30-60 seconds for the calculation and the SHA1 and CRC32 data values to display.

These values are not case sensitive, so a lower case 'a' is the same as a capital letter "A" to the extent where results are concerned. However, they must match those I posted below.

  • Where to find the correct SHA1 checksum for the upgrade Pro Windows 8 ISO?

I ordered the Windows 8 Pro upgrade online.  (not a preview but the new product on 26/10/12).  I downloaded and burned the ISO of the English version of the Windows 8 ISO file.  I'm assuming that 64-bit. This took place without incident.  I started the upgrade on a PC running Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, but it failed during the installation phase of Windows 8 to 72% with the error "installing Windows 8 failed".

So I restarted the upgrade and it has not exactly in the same place (72%) and the same cryptic error.
So I contacted the Microsoft Store and they helped me to go through the process of downloading a 2nd time.  The 2nd ISO file was exactly the same size, BUT it had a different SHA1 checksum!
Then I tried the upgrade using the new DVD burned in the 2nd ISO file and it failed at exactly at the same stage of the upgrade (72%).
So I got two corrupt downloads / Burns?   I have no way to tell because all I know is that they have different amounts of control.
Maybe they all are both wrong, or maybe the question is something else entirely.
But first things first.   How can I determine if my ISO file is correct?
What is the checksum SHA1 of a non-corrupt ISO file?    Where to find the information online?

I have the same problem with my 64-bit windows English version.

I created a bootable DVD from iso and started to install a clean install by formatting the hard drive.
Installation will be stuck at 17% and it happened to me like 3 times and I burned a fresh DVD and always the same question.
It's like the worst level ever... Is there a way I can download an iso of 64-bit bootable DVD and use it to upgrade?
