  • HP Simple pass - detects not fingerprint reader

    Hello

This is my first post so I apologize if it appears in the wrong place. I'll have a problem with the fingerprint reader and HP simple pass identity protection software that came with my Dv6-3121nr. For some reason any all of a sudden since this morning it will not work. There is no light on the sensor, and it fails every time and movement. When I run the single pass software and go to the fingerprint section, it shows the fingerprint reader is not connected. Interestingly, when I go to Device Manager I see no biometric devices listed under there. I read on another thread that some options below biometic devices in Device Manager solves the problem.

I already tried pass Simple uninstall/reinstall the Recovery Manager and also uninstalled and updated validity sensor but still no go.  Here are some other details:

    Laptop model: Dv6-3121nr

Operating system: Windows 7 premium 64-bit

    Paleoclimatology sensor DDK version: 4.1.139.0

I can't find any other information on how to solve it. Can anyone help?

    Thanks a bunch!

    Hello SM1251,

I looked at your laptop and there is no Windows 8 drivers for it.  Have you tried to install the driver of Windows 7 in compatibility mode?

    1. Visit the HP Support and download the Windows 7 drivers for the hardware that you want to try.
    2. Download the driver to your desktop.
    3. Allow extraction until the complete but close the installation process, when it comes to the top.
    4. Navigate to the C:\swsetup\ folder.  You will see your driver listed here.  They usually have a name such as "sp48918".  Navigate to this folder.
    5. In the folder of your driver, you will see a file "setup.exe".  Right-click on this file and select Properties.
    6. Go to the tab "compatibility".
    7. Click on the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode dethrone" and also select Windows 7 in the menu dropdown.
    8. Check the box that says "Run this program as an administrator", below.
    9. Save these changes, and then double-click the "setup.exe" to start the installation.
    10. Once installation is complete, restart your PC and check the functionality of the hardware.

Please let me know if this helps solve your problem.

    Good luck!

  • HP DV6 - 6b12ed Fingerprint reader not detected.

    I have a HP DV6-6b12ed with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Everything works except my fingerprint reader.

I tried installing the drivers on the website of support & drivers HP, but did not work.

I tried to install software like Simplepass identify Protection and DigitalPersona digital.

But when I try to configure my print it says that it is not detected! (See screenshot below).

Also when I start windows, it says it is scanning for the fingerprint reader, finally what he say not detected.

I have no idea what causes the problem, when I go into the Device Manager, it says that biometric devices is installed correctly (with no. "!" inside).

The 'P' processors use power more low and the smallest voltage max.  The HP chat support agent do not think that he would have no problem using them.  The support chat agent also said that an upgrade of the processor may void the warranty.  While I don't think that's true, I am obliged to pass this warning along.  I guarantee that if you break something while disassembling the laptop or restore, it will cancel your warranty for sure.

NOTE: I am not guarantee anything.  I'm about to order a P9700 to test it out and I'll report back.  The P9700 is not as fast as the T9800, T9900 on list of Intel, but it has a low power consumption (vs 28W 35W) and is much cheaper ($360 vs $500)

For those of you wondering about use of the Quad core and intel Extreme processors, they all use 44W - 45W, distinguished by the ship of processors of 35W.  It probably means that Quad core won't work, even if you really don't want to use anyway because they draw much more power and reduce the life of the battery for nothing.

    Hello

I've updated my videocard to a gtx 570 not only for that matter lol, I can now use direct x 11 entirely finally. :)

I have not encountered this problem since then, but it's early days, updates of pilot for the period between my last post and November 2010 has not remedied the problem.

    Thank you

  • I installed 4 GB of RAM in my computer Windows XP which has detected correctly 4096 MB, but the system information that 2 GB of Ram available.

I recently installed a maximum of 4 GB of RAM for my Win XP Home computer: four tips of 1024Mo in 4 available memory locations. Story: It came with 512 MB of RAM (256 MB two cards to 2 of the 4 slots). I sometimes treat files large image or video in a few applications, and if I do too much without saving the files, I get something like "...". not enough memory to complete... "and can not save either and lose an hour or two of work, all frozen, treatment and once had to turn off the computer by pulling the power plug (nothing else worked). Later, I added two boards of 1024 MB and moved the two 256 MB for the other two locations. The computer has detected correctly the RAM and showed 2,560.00 of available physical memory total MB of RAM in system information and available physical memory 2.00 GB (currently about 550 MB, current process). I put 4 GB page file. That helped a lot with the processing of these applications, but if do not attention, the same "...". not enough memory... "thing and I lost the job. So I added another 2 identical cards of 1 GB replacing the two planks of 256 MB. The 4 GB of RAM, I've added exact IS correct type for my computer. Set the pagefile to 1.5 times RAM available, etc, so that's it of OK. NOW THE PROBLEM, if it'S a PROBLEM: in the information system RAM is detected OK, showing 4,096.00 MB total physical memory, BUT not much more available memory: 2.16 GB available physical memory! Total virtual memory 2.00 GB remains the same in both cases, even if I put the pagefile of 12 GB. Page file space shows what I put in more added about 2 GB.
SO THE QUESTION: Is all the 4 GB of RAM (essentially) available for use with my operations high megabytes to image and video processing applications?  Or is Win XP steal my RAM and makes the page file? What happens here? You wish to know if I've lost $120,00 on two more strips of 1 GB of memory. Thanks loads, if someone can tell me.
Did not have a pretty good test in image/video applications to find out if I won anything yet. Always the same 550MO ongoing process. And Yes, I spent hours on the things in forums of online learning on the page file and RAM, most of which I knew already, but there is no explanation on the information system does not more than 2 GB of RAM available.
Thanks loads, if someone can tell me.

"My OS is Windows XP family 32-bit." End of the story for the possibility to use up to 4 GB of RAM. No, there is no way to magic, you can force a Windows 32-bit operating system to use all 4 GB of RAM. There is a difference between the question of whether a motherboard will support a certain amount of memory and an operating system be able to access memory. Sorry, you missed this fact in your research. Oh, and if you want to try one of the many Linux distros do not forget to use a 64-bit - after checking your processor is 64-bit also. That yours is not.

  • I can not defrag.my PC, it is constantly in a X box [Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled

complete the question was in my title.thank you

When you try to defragment a volume and Disk Defragmenter reports:

Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume: (c :))
    Please run Chkdsk /f.

This means that the volume that you want to defragment was marked 'dirty' XP.  This is not necessarily all of the data has been lost on the volume, it simply means that XP thinks that the volume should be checked to find errors because of something that happened before.

You won't be able to defragment the volume until the dirty bit has been removed.

This does not mean that a disk check is scheduled to run, and you can't cancel what needs to happen in this case because this isn't the problem.

Also the dirty bit is not set on a volume, you can still run a disk defrag with a record of date of arrival in the meantime (try).

Entry of commands to reset or erase a disc awaiting verification or suggestions for changes to the registry to make changes is a waste of time - that is not the problem.

A volume can be marked as dirty, if the system underwent a power interruption (power failure, pulling plug, removing the battery, button / stop), abandoned restart or an abnormal termination.  One of these events?

When XP starts, it automatically checks the bit of impurity on each volume.  You can also tell XP to ignore the bit of impurity on any volume, but this probably isn't a good idea in case there is a real problem that needs to be fixed.  If you have a hard drive where the dirty bit will not disappear, you can tell XP not to check.

If the starting XP detects that the volume is dirty, it will be automatically run the check disk with error correction (chkdsk/r) and try to fix the problems detected.

If the chkdsk command succeeds, it clears the dirty bit, and then you can defragment the volume.

You can check the status of your bit of impurity from a command prompt window.

To do this, click Start, run and enter in the box:

    cmd

Click OK to open a command prompt window.

For example, to query the bit of impurity on drive C, type:

    fsutil dirty query C:

    The sample output:
    Volume c is dirty
    Volume C: is dirty

Is the volume of your sale or it is not dirty?

You cannot use fsutil or chkntfs from a command prompt to delete the bit of impurity on a volume.

The only thing that can clear the bit of impurity on a volume is chkdsk /r (or chkdsk/p).  You could tell XP not to check the bit of impurity on a volume where the dirty bit does not erase, but this probably isn't a good idea since there is some sort of problem on the volume.

You will be not also solve this problem by editing your registry database (pay attention technical support engineers and moderators of Forum)-is not the problem.

Once a volume is marked as dirty, the only way to clear the dirty bit is to run "chkdsk/r" or "chkdsk/p" when the volume is not in use.  The only way a volume can not be used while XP is just starting to load or from the XP Recovery Console.

If XP will not run chkdsk correctly when your system restarts or the dirty bit will not erase as it should, you need to look in the Event Viewer log chkdsk and see what is happening and fix it.

If XP will not always clear the dirty bit, you need to run chkdsk/r of the XP Recovery Console so you can look and see what works and run it again until it works.  If your hard drive fails, you may never be able to clear the dirty bit, in this case, you can also say XP never check the afflicted volume dirty bit (this will usually do the trick).

Saying XP not to check the bit of impurity on a volume would be risky behavior because there would always be some kind of problem with your hard drive.

  • Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the Volume: C:. Please run Chkdsk /f.

I know this question has been asked several times, but I did these steps and still not get Defragmenter to work.  My Disk Doctor said I don't have problems with my Defragler work program - but I don't have a C: drive not 'dirty '.  I have Windows XP Home Edition and do not know how to run an XP Recovery Console.  Y at - it an easy way just to get the Defragmenter to work?... when I run Chkdsk... It goes through stages and then closes and the problem is still there.  Defragmenter just stopped working, my computer everything works fine.  Help, please.

Hmmm...  It should only take a few minutes for ImgBurn to create the bootable XP Recovery Console CD, then maybe one of the songs that you have downloaded (xp_rec_con.iso or install IgmBurn) won't quite right.

You want ImgBurn to play a happy tune when it is successful and a "Oh no!" message when it fails, but it shouldn't take hours to burn this ISO file bit.  You can try another system.  You can always uninstall ImgBurn when finished.

I say 'be patient' when you run the chkdsk /r command because sometimes it seems to be stuck (or even go back), but it should end later.  Depending on the volume size, the amount of data on the volume, the speed of your system and what the chkdsk finds to do, you can watch several hours.

Look at these words from the mouth of Microsoft:

If you use chkdsk /f on a drive or drives for very large (for example, 70 gigabytes) with a very large number of files (for example, millions of files), chkdsk may take a long time (for example, over several days) to complete. The computer is not available during this time because chkdsk does not relinquish control until it is completed.

At the time of this writing, I'm guessing a disc 70 GB was "very large" but it is quite modest by today's standards.

Now with today's technology, it is unlikely to take days, but it could still take some time!  If your HARD drive is afflicted with a problem material and dying, it can never finish or be unable to fix things.

To start XP, it automatically checks each volume to see if it is dirty and will try to run chkdsk from the afflicted volumes.  Sometimes, it's good enough to clear the dirty bit, sometimes it isn't.  You will see a message at startup if the volume should be checked for consistency and XP will do the best.

That's exactly what the message tells you:

Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume: (c :))

You can query the dirty bit on a volume from the command prompt window.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    cmd

Click OK to open the command prompt window.

To query the bit of impurity on drive C, type:

    fsutil dirty query C:

    The sample output:
    Volume c is dirty
    Volume C: is dirty

Type "exit" to close the command prompt window.

If you are suspicious of your HARD drive and think it might be failing, now would be a good time to backup your personal data (documents, pictures, music, etc.) to an external location - a separate attached USB drive or a few clouds on the Internet.

  • What is this average, Disk Defragmenter has detected that chkdsk command is schduled to run on the volume: (C). Please run chkdsk /f.

Been trying to run the defrag on my C drive and this message keeps coming up.

When you try to defragment a volume of that Disk Defragmenter reports:

Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume: (c :))

    Please run Chkdsk /f.

This means that the volume that you want to defragment was marked 'dirty' XP.  This is not necessarily all of the data has been lost on the volume, it simply means that XP thinks that the volume should be checked to find errors because of something that happened before.

You won't be able to defragment the volume until the dirty bit has been removed.

    The sample output:
    Volume c is dirty
    Volume C: is dirty

Is the volume of your sale or it is not dirty?

Since XP of course already thinking that the volume is dirty, XP will automatically run chkdsk when it restarts to try to clear the dirty bit, in order to plan another running chkdsk can not help you much.  Sometimes the auto chkdsk on a reboot will be not only clear things to the top, but you can try it.

I would like to start in the XP Recovery Console and run chkdsk /r from there you can actually watch and see what happens and decide what to do about this.  When own running chkdsk/r, it clears the dirty bit unless your HARD drive is somewhat distressed.

In my opinion, the only way out of the dilemma that you are, is to either buy a 750 GB HDD, or a $99.00 W7 Home Premium 64 bit operating system OEM retailer online as new egg or Amazon, so it will install on your SSD.

  • P2715Q, "the system has detected a link failure.

Just got my new DELL P2715Q monitor and I have the same problem. The monitor is connected to a TriX R9 290 (no X) via the DP-MiniDP cable supplied with the display.

When I "wake up" the monitor of fashion 'sleep', I get the same error:
"The system has detected a link failure and cannot set the resolution rate or refresh rate requested on your DisplayPort screen... "- the resolution is fine (4K), but all my icons and position Windows & sizes are reset to zero, as the display was turned off at some point during the day before and from operating system Windows are moved to 640 x 480.

The display is not connected to a USB port.

    Display: P2715Q
    SN: CN-00GT67-74445-537-434 L
    GPU: Tri - X Sapphire R9 290
Connection: DP 1.2 released in Mini-DP on the monitor.
OS: Windows 7-64 bit (fully updated)
    Video driver: 14.502.1014 - a 150331, 1 - 182333E
Windows power management: high performance. The PCI-e link status: PM: Off
    Monitor purchased from a reseller.

    I also tried:
    -Different cable (DP - DP).
-Different video driver (catalyst Omega 14.12).

The problem also arises when I turned off the monitor of its switch and let the computer - when I turn on the monitor after about an hour - the icons and windows apps are reset as as the monitor was at 640 x 480 at some point. Could you please give us with a solution to this problem? I really hope you can help me because I can't do my job until I fix this. Apart from that, the P2715Q is the best monitor I've ever seen.

    Kind regards
    Peter H

    I had the same problem.

Buy a certified DP cable seems to have solved the problem.

At present, there is only one cable of DP - DP 1.2 certified market.

  • "MMC has detected an error in a snap and unload it. Launch errors... Please help!

I try to use the software provided with an external hard drive and cannot launch the it, I get an error launch. The external drive is an external drive 500 GB Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Pro comes pre-loaded with Memeo instant backup and the Seagate dashboard.  I could connect the HDD and install programs, but when I try to open them I get «dashboard of Memeo Launcher has stopped working...» Windows is checking for a solution to the problem... "and then nothing.  I contacted Toshiba (the laptop manufacturer), Seagate and now I want to know if anyone here can help you. I use a new laptop with a hard drive inside (where the reason for buying the external hard drive, my last hard drive became corrupt and had to be replaced, rather worry not lose everything if she goes again) and I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit, and it is compatible with the software on the external hard drive.  When I tried to fix the problem with the Seagate tech support, I encountered the error "MMC has detected an error in a snap and it will unload" and I can report the problem/close MMC or "unload the snap and keep it running".  When I select this option (which it is by default), I get the following:

I tried to find a solution online, but the Microsoft Fix - it tool does not work on my operating system.  I also tried that fix environmental variable of all WAY and also has not worked
.  I can't believe that there is no solution to this problem available and I can't imagine why Microsoft made a patch available for only PART of its operating system.
Can anyone help? I can probably use the external drive without the software, but for those who want to manually move the files to back up, and on the other hand, it beats paying more money for a better player with preloaded software, if you do not use the software.  And because it came with the software loaded on it, going back to the retail store is not an option.
Someone at - it some light on this would be really appreciated.  I won't have one problem throwing another thing - just the software for the external drive. I already have the uninstall/reinstall the software thing fact, several times, and she even got to have to perform a system restore and uninstall it again. Also reformatted the external hard drive & reinstalled. No luck.

    Hello

    ·         How is Windows reinstalled on the new hard drive internal?

    ·         You are able to install other software?

I suggest that you create the new user account and check if the current profile is corrupted and try to install the software and check if the problem persists, proceed in the link below:
