Creating a PDF file that has editable fields and replaceable images
I tried to understand how I can create a PDF file that is replaceable photos and editable text. I work for a company in which all computers have only Adobe Reader as a means to view or edit a PDF file. So far, I managed to create a file that contains fields of text editable with a custom look and feel, which is great! However, the next step was to create "fields" that can be filled by a picture. Is there a way to create with LiveCycle or any other prorgram also replaceable images.
My goal is simple: create a PDF file that has editable textfields and replaceable images. What should be done in Adobe Reader.
I use Adobe Acrobat X Pro to create this file, and I wonder if Live Cycle can help me with this problem, or if this is even possible at first. Thanks in advance.
Your goal is very simple with the LCD. Only use an Image field (important no Image) of the object library.
Any time you can click on it and select a new image.
Hope this information is useful?
Kind regards Mandy
PS: Ah I opened this tab and there is no answer right now

You need to expand the PDF form using Adobe LiveCycle Designer if you want to be able to connect to a database.
And Yes, it should be possible to use the file in Adobe Reader after that.

Cannot save PDF files that are editable fields
I'm unable to save forms that have editable fields. I get the error "the document could not be saved. The disc you saved or the disk used for temporary files is full. "Free up space on the disk and try again or save to a different disk.
I am running windows xp, and began with Player 10.1.4 having this problem now, I upgraded to 11 and same results. My colleagues can save the same shape and I have over 80 GB of free space on my hard drive, which is where I am saving it to. I tried saving it to other locations on my drive hard but get the same message. However, I can save the pdf files that have no form to complete in them very well.
I could really use some help.
Thank you
Figured out prtected mode has been set to enabled at startup. Turned off power and no more than problems.

Adobe booth 7.1 on Win7 32 bit, 4 GB of ram - when creating a pdf file, that he was very quickly now that is very, very slowly, at 53 seconds of 8 pages. We scan many documents and this slows us down. I tried another directory, clean the current directory, remove other programs that have been added and stopped scanning of Kaspersky. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Assuming that you are talking about Adobe Acrobat 7 Standard, it is far from being compatible with Windows 7, if problems are to be expected.
The first version which has been is 9.2, if I remember correctly.

What product Adobe can create a PDF file that can not be changed or printed by the recipient?
Hi quoman,
Looks like you're wondering how to add security to a PDF file. You will need Acrobat Pro or Standard to do. If you do not have Acrobat, you can try it free for 30 days. See www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html for more information.

Creating a pdf file that contains forms
I am trying to create a pdf file that combines three pdfs and several forms that I created in LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2. I have activated using the player to complete the forms so that they can be saved once completed.
My problem is that when I try to combine the file in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, it won't let me add the shapes because they are forms of Adobe XMS.
I did not save the forms and XML forms, so I wonder how to save the forms so that they can be combined into a single pdf.
I tried the option of the portfolio, but I think that this format will be confusing for people who need to use the package.
You will need to combine them into the designer if possible. Once you have used the designer, Acrobat cannot be used to do something practical with the file. If you want that, you should use the Acrobat (under TOOLS) forms.

Create a PDF file that will write to mdb
Hello.
I have a requirement to add code to a set of PDF files that will be read by members of my team as part of their induction. Each pdf has a shape at the end that captures their name and a check box to indicate that they have read the document. When the user clicks a button in the form submit, I want to write these essential data in a mdb access database so that we can hold a cheque which is compatible with the process of induction.
Is it possible to use Livecycle designer to create a document that will open in Adobe Reader? I have need code to do - just need to know if it's possible. If not, are there any other ways I could save information form silently, without that users who need to do anything else that present the information?
I read somewhere that works for certain things, you had to activate some kind of extensions of the reader - which is the case for this solution?
Thanks in advance for your advice.
Matt
Hi Matt,
Yes, if the user has the free Adobe Reader, database access will require the form to be player activated in LC/ADEP Reader Extensions.
While you can activate Reader a form in Acrobat (with restrictions), connect to a database is not allowed.
See here for a summary: http://assure.ly/etkFNU.
Hope that helps,

create a PDF file viewer, users can view and or download
I would like to create a directory of PDF files that end-users can see a thumbnail of the first page of the pdf file
and when they click on it will expand to allow them to view the pages in the pdf file, and or download.
I have 40 years and more of old newsletters that I am trying to publish.
I was able to do this is much easier using iWeb for the Mac, it was just drag - drop a pdf file and the
thumbnail has been generated automatically - but I can't seem to find a way to do it in Muse.
My attempt to Muse...
You can use of compositions to do with triggers insert thumbnail images and target containers should include the content of the text, add another text in the same container and a link to pdf document where users can download the file.
Thank you
Sanjit
