Is it possible to create a PDF file that has a cycle of specified life or after a defined period, it will be impossible to open it again?

I would like to circulate a document that is planned and to preserve its wider dissemination and future use I want to prevent access to its contents after a predefined time, is it possible?

Yes, but you will have to use the DRM technology, which is very expensive.

  • Creating a PDF file that has editable fields and replaceable images

I tried to understand how I can create a PDF file that is replaceable photos and editable text. I work for a company in which all computers have only Adobe Reader as a means to view or edit a PDF file. So far, I managed to create a file that contains fields of text editable with a custom look and feel, which is great! However, the next step was to create "fields" that can be filled by a picture. Is there a way to create with LiveCycle or any other prorgram also replaceable images.

My goal is simple: create a PDF file that has editable textfields and replaceable images. What should be done in Adobe Reader.

I use Adobe Acrobat X Pro to create this file, and I wonder if Live Cycle can help me with this problem, or if this is even possible at first. Thanks in advance.

Your goal is very simple with the LCD. Only use an Image field (important no Image) of the object library.

Any time you can click on it and select a new image.

    Hope this information is useful?

  • Is it possible to create a PDF file that will add and subtract in the same form field?

I design a pdf form to fill out for a friend in need as an invoice. He wants to add each element of cost that happening automatically and I got including but now he wants to be able to subtract an element if necessary and I am lost as to how to get the correct code. Is this possible?

So let's say that you have called Item1, Item2, Item3, and discount fields and you want to add the first 3 and then subtract the fourth total (sub).

You can use the simplified field Notation on the calculation of your total field tab and enter the following in it:

    (Item1, Item2 and Item3) - Discount

If the field names are more complex then a custom calculation script may be used instead:

    event.value = (Number(this.getField("Item1").value) + Number(this.getField("Item2").value) + Number(this.getField("Item3").value)) - Number(this.getField("Discount").value);

Is it possible to create a PDF file using only the pages of an existing PDF?

    Hi drdanger,

There is a way, and it requires Acrobat. You need Acrobat to extract pages from a PDF. You are welcome to try free for 30 days, Acrobat, if you haven't already. See www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html for more information.

If Acrobat, you choose extract in the Pages of the Toolbox pane, then specify which pages you want to extract. These pages are extracted to a new PDF file, which then you name and save it.

  • Creating a pdf file that contains forms

I am trying to create a pdf file that combines three pdfs and several forms that I created in LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2. I have activated using the player to complete the forms so that they can be saved once completed.

My problem is that when I try to combine the file in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, it won't let me add the shapes because they are forms of Adobe XMS.

I did not save the forms and XML forms, so I wonder how to save the forms so that they can be combined into a single pdf.

I tried the option of the portfolio, but I think that this format will be confusing for people who need to use the package.

You will need to combine them into the designer if possible. Once you have used the designer, Acrobat cannot be used to do something practical with the file. If you want that, you should use the Acrobat (under TOOLS) forms.

To answer question you directly, no, you can't do nothing to prevent a valid PDF file opens in a non Adobe Reader, for better or worse.

Assuming that you are talking about Adobe Acrobat 7 Standard, it is far from being compatible with Windows 7, if problems are to be expected.

The first version which has been is 9.2, if I remember correctly.

    Hi quoman,

Looks like you're wondering how to add security to a PDF file. You will need Acrobat Pro or Standard to do. If you do not have Acrobat, you can try it free for 30 days. See www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html for more information.

  • Create a PDF file that will write to mdb

    Hello.

I have a requirement to add code to a set of PDF files that will be read by members of my team as part of their induction.   Each pdf has a shape at the end that captures their name and a check box to indicate that they have read the document.  When the user clicks a button in the form submit, I want to write these essential data in a mdb access database so that we can hold a cheque which is compatible with the process of induction.

Is it possible to use Livecycle designer to create a document that will open in Adobe Reader?  I have need code to do - just need to know if it's possible.  If not, are there any other ways I could save information form silently, without that users who need to do anything else that present the information?

I read somewhere that works for certain things, you had to activate some kind of extensions of the reader - which is the case for this solution?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

    Matt

    Hi Matt,

Yes, if the user has the free Adobe Reader, database access will require the form to be player activated in LC/ADEP Reader Extensions.

While you can activate Reader a form in Acrobat (with restrictions), connect to a database is not allowed.

See here for a summary: http://assure.ly/etkFNU.

    Hope that helps,

  • Is it possible to insert a page in multiple locations within a pdf file that has been created or what I need to do one at a time?

I work with a few hundred pages into several pdf files very important we try to enter our system of records management.

I know that I can insert the separator page before or after a page individually, but when you have a large file (200 +) pages, a fact which is just under the name of your time by printing the file and do it by hand.

Does anyone know if you can insert a page into several locations say start at page 1, then insert each odd page it after?

    I use Adobe Acrobat 9.

    Thank you

This kind of work can be done by using a script.

  • InDesign CS6: Is it possible to create a pdf file in which the version for printing is different from that on the screen?

    Hello

    Everything is in the title!

The idea is to make a pdf that I send to the customers by e-mail, very graphic with colored backgrounds, but when you print, the background becomes white to save the ink. Similarly for changing the color of the text.

For example, on the screen when I open a pdf file, I see white text on a blue background, but the impression we see black text on white background.

    Thank you

Convert the background of a button and set it to appear on the screen, but unprintable.
