  It seems that your guest uses frames (or Jumbo Packet), and which is currently to trigger this problem in Fusion.

  To work around the problem: in the guest Device Manager, find the E1000/E1000e NIC, then a parameter in its property page should allow you to disable the Jumbo Frames/Jumbo Packet.

  I managed to install RHEL7 on a Dell laptop, is the detection network card and even automatically configure WiFi.  It seems that with the merger I have problems with RHEL7.

  Since you didn't say what version of VMware Player or a version of the host OS, I can only say what follows if applies to what I the test and this is VMware Player 5.0.2 under Ubuntu 13.04.

  In a Terminal, run the following command (Tip: copy / paste, as is, to avoid typos.):

  sudo ln-s/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-netcfg/usr/bin/vmware-netcfg

  Now to bring up the virtual network editor use the following command in a Terminal:

  sudo vmware-netcfg

  Note that you can get an error message similar to the following:

  (vmware-netcfg: #): IBUS-WARNING *: the owner of /home/$USER/.config/ibus/bus is not root! »

  This seems to be a bug , but I do not think that this will affect the actual use of the virtual network Editor.

  Hi guys.  I'm a studying MCDST trying to put my hands on XP Pro and Windows Server 2003 in order to have a better learning experience. I'm using Workstation 6.5, and I'm really interested in creating my own virtual network. You guys have probably brought to this subject a million times, but I really need your help. So, what I try to do is to create a Windows Server deployment in the virtual machine that has installed in Win2k3. Everything is set up, as in, everyting is ping correctly. So now I want to install XP Pro remote in a new VM with no OS installed. Both virtual machines have only active guest network and the new virtual machine is configured in the BIOS to boot from the network. Now I'm stuck because the new VM is supposed to detect the WDS server, as it is virtual NIC is compatible PXE. I know that I should probably make some adjustments in the virtal network options. But I did not now what to do. Please help me! If you need more info just tell me!

  It means open the .vmx in Notepad file, select all text by clicking on the Edit menu, and then clicking 'Copy' and 'Paste' ing this text in your next post.  Or even simply to attach that file to your next reply.

  You must first enable the display of file extensions in Windows Explorer so that you can be absolutely sure that you are working with a .vmx file:

  In your window Explorer (such as the one that you took a screenshot and validated in your last response) click on the 'Tools' menu, and then click "Folder Options."  Then click on the 'View' tab in the window that appears and look for the box "Hide extensions of known file types".  Clear this check box, and then click 'OK' at the bottom of this window.  Then you should be able to see the end of file .vmx file extension that you want to open in Notepad, or you want to join in your next reply.

  Use only the 'Home' network  It is just a private network for virtual machines, and they can communicate with the host and other virtual machines connected to this network.

  I suppose that the net result is that this specific virtual machine is a gateway to some form.

  So, the question will be if the NIC2 of an Image and NIC1 of two images are on the same network?  If so, then just the NIC of Image value only two host as well.

  If two Image must have it's own personal space, then you need to activate another host of the network alone.  I think you can do this under the Publisher Network (Menu Edition or the Start Menu) and then activate a new network only host on a specific VMNet.  Once you have a new network activate (say VMnet5), then the value of this "Custom" and the VMNet5 virtual machine NIC.

  NOTE: The MAC address is generated the first time that a virtual machine is started after the creation, so it is not in conflict with other virtual machines on the same system.  I wouldn't change it, but you can see in the VMX via Nano/VI or Notepad file.

  Hate to tell you but PEAP is not supported by nature in windows XP. You must purchase and install a version of 3rd party drivers.

  I get this problem when you try to install 3rd party software: Error 1606: could not access network location \\vmware-host\Shared Folders\Pictures\

  I use Windows 7 installed as a virtual machine using VMWare Fusion v 3.

  Not sure if this is relevant - but when I open my computer, network location, 2 locations are shown: shared folders (\\.host) (y) and the files shared (\\.vmware-host) (z) -, which appear as disconnected network drives when you examine their properties.

  I'm in a huge bind.  I use VMWare for businesses.  Innocently, I downloaded the update.  However, this update made my network unavailable.  My Internet works perfectly well on Mac OS x, but I can't use it on VMWare.  Here is my post:

  Results: Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be validated: renewing your IP address.  Contact the person who manages your network.

  I changed nothing in my development in addition to be adjusted for the update.  This has been the only change

  Crucial Grand and I have bought from them for years without any problem.

  BTW, the Oracle_On_VMware Virtual Machine is configured to use the 1 GB of RAM so you can run on a system with only 2 GB of RAM, but 4 is better.

  FireWire 800 works great store and run your Virtual Machines since however I would keep in mind it is easy to accidentally disconnect in use and garbage can not only the Virtual Machine, but it has the potential in the trash the disk file system so just be vary well that if you don't erase a disc.

  The Oracle_On_VMware.7z file is compressed with 7Zip and is not natively supported in OS X so you will need to use a 3rd party utility to decompress the archive.  EZ 7z works very well.  It has a front end GUI but the real work is done in a Terminal, but the price is right.

  The author does not publish a checksum for the archives, so here's the md5sum generated from the download and I'm including because she extracted without error and ran very well while it is a unofficial md5sum, it may be useful to check and see what you get. MD5 (Oracle_On_VMware.7z) = 70464f2be7b1ef889a736c2b0665c992

  The extracted file of handset size is 4.35 GB

  The unit is practically ready to go however it extracted just in a folder and normal file-based Fusion of VMS are in packages that are a regular folder that has an extension added to it and hidden by default so it you want it to be like normal file based Machine virtual merger just add the .vmwarevm extension.  Otherwise, you can simply drag and drop the '4.vmx Red Hat Enterprise Linux' file in the Virtual Machine library or just double-click it.  (Same thing if you compress it just of DND package or double-click it.)

  I have a virtual machine in VMWare Fusion 2.0.2 running Windows XP with SP3. I have the Windows Firewall and AVG Free running.

  I use FileZilla as my FTP client. I am able to connect to a server using the vanilla FTP protocol. No problems.

  However, when I try to use FTP/SSL to connect to a server, I get time-out errors as it gets stuck on "initializing TLS... ».

  I tried to disable the Firewall and AVG. Nothing helps.

  I tried other FTP clients (CuteFTP, for example). Same result.

  And, I am able to connect through FTP/SSL and FileZilla to my host (Mac OS 10.5.6) operating system and another computer in my house running Windows 7.

  So I narrowed down it to something in this specific virtual Windows machine installation, but I don't know what else to try.

  Any suggestions?

  How is the Machine to stop virtual network set up, NAT or bridged?  If NAT have you tried to use bridged?  Note: If you change from NAT to Bridged while the Virtual Machine is running, the IP address must be released or renewed.  If you are unsure how to do this then just restart the Virtual Machine.
