Creating a vm from a ghost image

When I try to create a virtual machine from a ghost image he sees not the vm disk. He can see my usb drives, but not the virtual machine created to drive. Can anyone help?

Thank you

Sam

The boot environment, Ghost is not the drivers loaded for the type of disc you are using.

What type of disc you are trying to restore to? I suggest to restore an IDE drive, then use VMware Converter to create a new virtual machine with the right "stuff" put in place.

I'm really skeptical if you can launch the second partition Toshiba ghost image files without using the Symantec Norton Ghost software.

I created a ghost of the C partition image and placed on the D partition.

  • Copy a ghost image from a USB on a DVD? -Windows 8, is it possible?

Sorry, maybe it's here somewhere but I can't find the user friendly site!  I especially need to know if this is possible and simple instructions would be great...

That's the computer of my mother (his first!) - which is a few hundred miles of me.

It is a Toshiba laptop and was running Windows 8 (now updated I think to 8.1), no disk etc. not provided. We put teamviewer in place so I can get access to distance, but not sure how useful, it would be something like that.

I was visiting and set it for her. We didn't have a DVD at hand to be a ghost of the game image original so I used my large capacity USB flash drive (usually has photos of my children etc. baby - I leave there as a return upwards etc. home fire)

It's one of those jobs, I still intend to do but it doesn't seem simple and I don't have round to... he bought just for more than a year.

Is it possible to transfer the ghost image from the memory stick to a DVD?  (preferably using Windows 7, but could wait until I have visit again and use Windows 8)

I could do another copy (I guess this would be the current set up, but that should be ok I think) on a DVD?

Or would I better just buying another flash (they are much cheaper now!) but I have a lot of DVD here it seems a bit of a waste...

I guess the first thing is that possible?

    Hi Lusi,

    Thank you for the update.

Creating installation media will help you reinstall Windows. However, you must have the correct product key license to validate the OS. In Windows 8, the product key is previously injected into the BIOS. So, as the system has already had 8 Windows installed, it is unnecessary to type a new product key. Therefore, install Windows 8 from the created installation media would serve the purpose.

Keep us updated to any other help, we will be happy to help you.

OK test 2, take the hard drive of the machine master and make a ghost of disk to disk to a new machine, image ends fine, replace the hard drive in the machine, try to start new machine, bingo same problem lies just to the bios.

    Hello

I can't give you a precise answer why your new created Ghost image does not work, but I found this Toshiba useful knowledge base article

Maybe your allowed some ghost image parameters that are not supported by satellite Pro A100 or missing some drivers SATA or IDE!

It seems in any case, there is nothing wrong with the Toshiba laptop. All functions using the Toshiba Recovery CD. Created your new image is not 100% good!

  • Why several ghostly images when I play the video in the timeline?

I'm new to Speedgrade and I understand how it is powerful - but I think it's completely intuitive compared to After Effects or first or even PhotoShop.

I loaded a test clip (30 p ProRes) and when I try and play and watch on the configuration of the monitor I get four ghostly images of the shooting.

I'm not using an external monitor as I am shaken upward in a hotel room working on a MacBook Pro.

In order to speed (ironic, huh) I'll probably make the colors work in After Effects, but if someone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Forgive me if this info is already posted on the forum - I tried search but he came up to the top with a white and a large number of tutorials.

Don't not seen this... but it would be good to get a few things to help you. SpeedGrade is a program unique, but it's actually quite simple to use once you begin to understand the controls and what they do, which is often a little different from what is a noob expected... as when I started with him, I have found certainly!

First of all, it is more demanding of hardware damage even... If the Sg doesn't like your platform, it will simply go crazy doing nothing. He won't give you small problems like stammering, he'll do great things that obviously does not work. So... that's just MbPro got for the video/graphics card? And how much RAM? Computers that use the graphical features embedded very rarely work well with SpeedGrade. Under 8GB RAM... don't even think on this subject. You MIGHT be able to live with 6 GB of RAM, as some people have claimed that they did... but this isn't a nice job... slowing.

Following... is this a project of SpeedGrade 'native mode', where you open SpeedGrade and a new project, and then make a timeline it in SpeedGrade, or a draft Premiere Pro sent to Sg by using the command "live from SpeedGrade?

Initially, I found Sg so impossible, that I used Ae a little myself. Now... I was not to AE for a long time, except to say fight against noise or create a sequence of reading can do a LUT of her.

First step to a colorist or the marshalling of the app is neutralize your videos... Making it NOT enough. It's a different passage home and down the road. In this step, I don't even look at the picture very much... I'll have the RGB Parade, Luma and YUV Vectorscope 'up' signal and watch, particularly the parade & wave. I select the slider controls (in color wheels) and unlock all the controls I use (the small icons of lock). I'll adjust individual controls in color on the section Offset (left set of sliders) to match the bottom of their footsteps a little over 2 or more, I will look to see if it's ok or should it perhaps a little lighter with this image. The switch for the Gain sliders (right) and set them to basically same heights for the scope of the parade, with their vivid the two lower at 100 and research appropriate for the image. It is sometimes as low as in the 1960s, sometimes as high as 99.

Next is to use the Gamma sliders (in the middle) to correspond mainly to the parade & - waveform traces... all easily identifiable 'forms' in the mid tones I will align with each other.

The foregoing leads me what... 20 seconds? May 30 at the most.

Then I switch back to the color wheels and compare the images with my eyeballs and the vectorscope... How is the saturation and... How is the balance of color/tint and the proportions compared to what I'm used to seeing on the field and the monitor? At this point, I'll do a bit of tweaking of the Gamma & Gain color wheels and luminance sliders, perhaps use contrast, temperature, magenta or rotate the cursors in the cursor above group wheels. This neutralizes things pretty well.

Can do... Nice... or better. JUST looking at a picture's contrast, luma (lamps or dark) or chroma (color)... where's the good contrast, where... not very good? You can have too little contrast color (saturation) in the midrange, but perhaps too in the brights... or your shadows can all tend to block upward around 5-20, when you need to go up a little higher. This is where the tabs above the wheels of color shine... This example:

The tab made highlights chosen... No, you have still three wheels, each with (vertical slider) luma and chroma controls (wheel)? They overlap, and in order to play a bit with a ramp is great. A "ramp" is a tonal graphic staircase from black to gray in several stages, make an and import... then play around with the settings and see what effect each has... where on the ramp.

Here, on the tab highlights... the rightmost is very bright pixels in the clip, with overlaps down the scale a little. Controlling the environment moves mainly on the third median of this, the upper third of the image around... with some effect in the poorest and brightest pixels in this part of the scale. The right control is the bottom of the upper third... usually used to help blend in the midrange. Also... See the control 'grayed out '? Set that say gray color and pixels that you change will be in color, the rest of the shaded image. You can see directly what you change.

So... as you have three basic commands, Offset, Gain and Gamma, and three controls each for shadows, average and clear tones, you have a LOT of very refined tweaking you can do. Also... Note the vertical slider to the left Luma control for the facts tab highlights? In text turned on its side, it says mph... who is the pivot of control that defines WHERE on the scale of the end of the midrange and treble begins... you can move upwards or downwards. Among the witnesses of midtones, you have sliders on both sides, one for the breakpoint of shadows/Mids, one for the breakpoint Mids/facts highlights. Shadows tab has a pivot for the shadows/shades breakpoint.

It affects all the cool things you can do with the secondary and masks and other... but it's long enough for now!

  • Recovery CD work not (Satellite A10) - need password for ghost image

    Hello

I have a Satellite A10, which took its CD player died. I need to reimage using the recovery disks that came with it, but I can't because I don't have an external hard drive that is very convenient.

What I can do is copy ghosting from disks of recovery on an external USB drive, boot from that and then run Ghost and picture then the laptop of the ghost image, which I copied from the CD.

Only problem is that the image is locked with a password I do not know. Toshiba is able to provide a password or let me know how to get the required password so I can use the image on my laptop?
    See you soon

    Patrick

    Hello Patrick

To be honest I don't think that you will get this password. That should give you?
In my opinion, you should buy the new optical disk drive and be happy with your laptop.
Satellite A10 is old enough laptop model and sides are not expensive.

Alternatively, you can get one on eBay.

  • Deleting files from the Digital Image Starter Edition 2006

I'm having a lot of trouble trying to remove files from the Digital Image, Library 2006 Starter Edition.  It is in such a mess with files for all my music files, Readme files and many other files that have no photos or videos.  I tried everything to remove these including uninstalling and reinstalling without the time, but it keeps always pick up these files and is therefore very difficult to find the image or video file that you need.  I want to delete all the files in the library and implement only the image and video files, which I need.  Can anyone help please?

Hi volunteer J - I found the POD PD3 file, but when I go to change the type of file to the FORMER, he said that changing a file extension can render the file unusable.  I have copied all the Microsoft file along with the POD file, but wonder whether he should actually do this.  Advice please. -Thank you

    ===============================================================
It's just a standard message warning... If you renamed the file back to Pictures.pd3 all
would be as it was before you it renamed to Pictures.OLD.

Of course rename will make it unusable, but it's what you need to do if you want to delete the library.

Renaming or deleting the file Pictures.pd3 will force the Digital Image to create a new Pictures.pd3 file.

If the warning message affects you... try to rename this OLD_Pictures.pd3 way

I guess that you know, that the Starter Edition is only a 60 day trial version?

  • Ghost images between cuts to export after the edition of interlaced images

    Hello

When I change a few sequences in the order that are defined to be interlaced and I do some changes specific to the source, I find myself with a few images of 'ghosts' arise between cuts in export. However these ghost images are visible only in vlc and other external drives. If I import export in PP, there will be no ghost image to be seen.

Here is the link to an example: http://www.doublesens.tv/media/05A-SONORE%20GUINEE_1.mp4

    And a screenshot of him:

    Sans titre.png

I tried export ff upper, lower, gradual changes, nothing. I tried also to manually select the progressive in the "film" for the source dialog box. Nope.

The only thing that works is the edition of progressive sequences, even when the material is interlaced.

Looks like a bug. What do you think? What I lose something when I change in a progressive sequence with interlaced source and export?

    Thank you very much.

If you change in an interlaced sequence, the program monitor is set to display two fields?

If you use the interlaced source material and mounted on an interlaced timeline, must match the domination of the field in the source and chronology.

In addition, the source of the layer footage has been copied (from the band, for example) or is it original camera film? I've seen cases where interlaced images has been incorrectly dubbed and this problem - the cutoff point showing the scene of outgoing on the ground one and the incoming field scene two of the frame - has occurred.

If this is the case, the only solution is to drag edit them points.

If you create a PDF file from an image, it is always a picture, and you cannot change it.

If the image contains text, then you need to perform the text recognition (OCR) before you can actually change the text.  Acrobat can do that.
