Creating groups on Shared Services.  Any restriction on naming?

Hello

Is there a limitation on the length of the group names are created in the Native of Shared Services Directory? Only limitation I know is 80 characters, but I think it applies to Essbase outline dimension members only. If anyone can confirm?

Thank you
A

It is available in the docs - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hss_admin/crtgrp.htm

"In name, enter a unique group name (maximum 256 characters)."

  • Creating Application planning – Shared Services project edition

    Hello

I use the Hyperion 11.1.2.3 version and try to create the new application from planning through the workspace.  I am not able to see the 'Planning' group in the shared services project.

Please could you help me to create planning applications.

    Thank you

You will need to create a new application group in Shared Services, it is simple to do - Create Application groups

Once you have created the group, you should see it in the list of projects of Shared Services when you create a planning application.

  • Automation of the operations of the group security Shared Services - Add / Remove / outsource

    Hello

Is it possible to automate, add / outsource / remove users (external user) from a security group?

Earlier, I used to do this with MXL (change user...) but it seems that this approach is not taken in charge of 11.1.2.4 from.

    Thank you...

There are a lot of messages and articles on LCM, everything you need to do is a little research.

There is also documentation of LCM - life cycle management

The LCM of SSP import options are available to- States Migration native Directory Import Options

What I recommend is to do the research, run an export of LCM of SSP, throw an eye on the format, have a look at the options available, create your import files, import into shared Services.

Once you are satisfied, you can start seek to automate using the LCM, the information is in the documentation link I provided

  • Create an Admin shared services group

It is a small problem that I can't solve.

I can create a Group Admin in SS that will be synchronized in environmental assessments. The issue is users of synchronization of group as the type of user no admin as expected.

Is this normal, I'm trying just to make a provision of the admins by a group instead of each user

I tried to create an aboriginal group and add users in this way with the same results. I see Admin groups, but users are still.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

If you look at the EAS group then it should appear as an administrator, then all users assigned to this group will have administrator privileges.
It displays not each user as administrator just as a user that is the way it works.

  • How to export users and groups Active Directory of hyperion shared services

    Hello

We are on 11.1.2.3 and in a situation where we need to export all users and groups of shared services, including the native directory and Active Directory users and groups.

Current method of LCM export only the NativeDirectory user and groups. -is this correct?

Is there a way to export all users and groups including NativeDirectory and ActiveDirectory?

    Please suggest.

    Thank you

I don't think that there is a way to make the groups and users to the AD, and I wouldn't.

You need to connect the next AD system and pull on the users and groups in this way.

  • Tables of the database for users of Shared Services

    Hi all

I'm discovering in the database tables, know when a user has been added as a group in Shared Services. This is for purposes of SOX. Can you let me know which database table, we need to check that we can get a timestamp date for added user?

We use HFM 11.1.2.2 and Microsoft SQL server

    Thank you

    Steffi.

    Hey Steffi,

I don't know any tables db HSS that contain this timestamp.  The CSS_GROUP_MEMBERS table lists groups/members, but no other information.  There are the timestamps for the CSS_USERS and CSS_GROUPS tables, but they show only when Aboriginal users/groups have been created and updated.

The best way to record this information for your next audit would be to enable auditing of Shared Services.  To do this:

    • HSS > Administration > configure audit
    • Enable audit value
    • Select the items that you want to audit (Directory Management has elements such as 'Assign the user as a member of the group' and 'Remove user as a member of the group'
    • Restart the Services

    Thank you

  • migration of users to 9.2.1 to 11.1.1.4 Hyperion Shared Services

    Hi all
I used CSSExport.bat to export users of Hyperion 9.2.1 shared services, when iam trying to import users with CSSImport.bat its throwing error log4j, leaving no error on newspapers. I asked an application with Oracle, they said that using CSSImport.bat will not work in Hyperion 11.1.1.4.and we do not use LCM too. At this point they say 11.1.1.4 is a maintenance application so that we cannot do something in this part.

Can I have any other option to workaround.
    appriciate your help

I find the best way to get used to the format required for LCM of first provision a user/group in shared services and then to perform an export of LCM, will give you an idea of the required format.
Change the output files with your new setting and then test the Import FCL through shared Services, if it works then create an XML migration when running step by step through the stages of SSP and then you should be fine using the command line utility.

  • Record of planning app with shared services

    Hi all.

I created a new classic of planning app (11.1.1) with the intention of mirroring our production application. I copied this sketch of the production to the new application app. I also export the sql server database used by the application of the production planning and restored to the new app everything seems great so far.

My question is about the registration of the new shared services application. The application of production has about 35 MSAD authenticated users. What would the recording process of the new application with shared services and implementation of the production application users. The new application has not specifically record when it was created.

I'm a little worried. I don't want to do anything that might affect the current application of the production. How to register for the new application and add users without affecting the current application of the production. Is also simple to go to Administration-> application settings and clicking on 'Register Shared Services' and establishment of new users? Or are there any other steps that need to happen?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Dave

You need to register as you created an empty planning initially application which will be saved with shared Serices, would the provisoning to users/groups in shared services for the planning application, and then you perform the migration of the relational database across.
Wil you will probably have to change the URL of the shared services within planning, but no need to re-register.

    Hello

I set a filter Essbase and created a user with access filter in Shared Services.
Now, I want to assign the Essbase filter that is created for the user.

If I call the menu item 'Open' on a group of Shared Services applications I get an empty window.
If I call the menu item "Assign Access Control" for the Essbase Application I get an error message (web page cannot be opened).

    Can anyone help?

    OS: windows
    Internet Explorer: Version 7
    Java: Build 1.6.0_12 - b04
    EPM system: 11.1.1.2

    Best regards
    Nicole

    Hello

    Disconnect from shared Services
Go to PARTY, select one of the application, with which you have a problem, start the the right click 'register '.
Connect to Shared Services, now the "assign access control" should work for the application.

    Ok?

  • Restrict a user/group to allow access only to specific shared services groups

    Hello team,

I have EMP 11.1.2.2. I created different groups) a ' Admin_groupA') b ' App_groupA' c) "App_groupB" under the native directory. I have configured Shared services-> administrator to this 'AdmingroupA '. Those who belong to this group "AdmingroupA" is able to add a new user to the directory of companies to provide access to the group 'App_groupA '. But I don't want the users of 'Admin_groupA' to access 'App_groupB '.

Since I put in service Shared services administrator privelge to this group of "AdmingroupA", "AdmingroupA" users are able to access "App_groupB" also. Can you please let me know how I can limit 'AdmingroupA' to provide access to users to the group "App_groupA".

Thank you for your valuable contributions.

You said, as you have configured administrator privileges of shared services to this 'AdmingroupA '. I don't think that you can restrict the user from this group to provide access to other users.

    ...

Did you hear about delegate user management? Managing Director can view and manage only those users and groups which they are responsible. Good read on the your hss version Administrator's guide and see if it helps!

  • Error access to groups of App EssbaseCluster-1 to Shared Services

    Team,

When attempting to access the Group of App EssbaseCluster-1 under HSS, we get the following error:

EPMLCM-34040: unable to connect to the olap service. Unable to connect to the Essbase server. Error: Essbase Error (1030024): entry in the format IP: port (null: null) but port numbers not when it is passed to the EssLoginEx of ESSAPI function

    3919273.jpg

This error occurs in the process to access shared Services > > Application groups > > EssbaseCluster-1 (as well as any room listed resulting). Of course, we have problems to run a LCM export because of this.

We use Mcsft. Clustering in an active/passive cluster nodes Essbase (2) for this environment. Everything else works with Essbase. We followed Oracle Tip and instructions of thing for a correct adjustment of the alias in DNS registry of EPM (www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/epm-tips-issues-73-102-1612164.pdf) and we have also ensured that the corresponding component.properties of the file for the EssbaseCluster-1 artifact indicates the correct failover cluster server.

The pointers will be greatly appreciated.

We had the similar problem when build of failover cluster.

Try adding The TRUE FAILOVERMODE in essbase.cfg (and restart EPM and essbase), because the default value is false and essbase does not failover mode

  • Shared Services 11.1.2 cannot remove affected user to a security group

Shared Services 11.1.2 - trying to remove a user from the list of assigned users to a security group. Initially, I am able to delete the user and assigned users total decreases by one - but when I restart the properties of group - this user is still there? The change is not licensed. Any suggestion would be appreciated - thanks,

    Paul

How about a quick restart HSS, see if this is useful and if not then:
What is a MSAD user or a native user?
It's happening with one user in all groups?
This is what is happening with more then one user/group?
