Creating Application planning – Shared Services project edition

Hello

I use the Hyperion 11.1.2.3 version and try to create the new application from planning through the workspace.  I am not able to see the 'Planning' group in the shared services project.

Please could you help me to create planning applications.

Thank you

You will need to create a new application group in Shared Services, it is simple to do - Create Application groups

Once you have created the group, you should see it in the list of projects of Shared Services when you create a planning application.

  • Shared Services project

When we create a classic Planning Application, one of the first things he asks us to do is to select a Shared Services project. I don't know what is shared Services, can someone explain to me what exactly a SS project here? And what difference does make to the user or developer? What is the consequence of the choice of one SS project rather than another? I can't find anything in the SER60, BUT in the case where I missed it, please direct me.
    Thanks in advance...

Basically, there is nothing more than a grouping, or say something, he lets you just put say planning applications against a project called planning to say, there is nothing to say about it, really.

  • Migration of LCM - Instance name?  Shared services project name? Data source?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Situation
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    * We have hyperion 11.1.1.3.24
    * Objective - trying to migrate files LCM of our DEV to UAT environment
    * DEV LDCS alone has enabled planning application ("budget"), little EN reports & other related artifacts.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Up to now
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    * Successfully exported these 4 (EPMA, shared services, planning & EN) of our DEV
    * When you try to import EPMA in our UAT, noticed that the State indicates failure. (Notice how claims have been reported in other posts as well.)

Another dilemma that I have what should I write on the name of the Instance, the name of the Shared services project & the data source.

    * Instance name = >? I'm not sure. How to find it?
    * Shared services project = > have not created one at all. Thus, those who do I use OR how do I know this?
    * Data Source = > I guess, it would be the name of EPMA repository database?

Although I can migrate all the artifacts in our (the same as our DEV) UAT, Migration status showed as "failed". Is this due to the fact that I jumped Destination options with empty values (for example, shared services and data source). Has anyone ever had success on this stage of the Migration.

OR should I simply ignore this state of migration, because we can see all of the identical artifacts in our UAT.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you connect EPMA and choose an application and select deploy (don't worry, you don't have to deploy, you can cancel it until you do).
It displays a popup that will be the
Name of the instance (usually the default), Shared Services project (drop-down menu displays the groups of different applications available), the Data Source (this is the name you gave when you created the source of application data)

  • What is "Shared Services Project"?

    Hello world.

What does "Shared Services Project" which is when the Hyperion Planning application is created mean?

Is this right need be selected?

    Please notify.

Shared services is the place where all the stuff of unique signature take place between different applications, Hyperion. It also includes the management module Life Cycle that is used for the migration of applications. You can think of such as shared services shared services projects where you put your apps into folders. You must associate not only planning, but all possible applications of Hyperion with her. You can create a project yourself and match your applications with it, or simply use one of the existing ones such as 'Group of applications by default'.

  • register the application with Shared Services

    Hello

I copied a planning of a new application application in Essbase. When I go to Shared Services, I don't see the application in Shared Services. I register this app in environmental assessments, but I get this error «Re-registration not allowed on planning of an [ApplicationName] application» I don't know what it takes then to see this app in Shared Services for the provisioning of users. I use 11.1.1.3

    Thank you.

A quick way is to create the essbase app/db using eas that make sure that it is registered as an essbase in shared services application, and then save the outline of planning essbase on the newly created db db, copy all of the objects that are needed.

  • Registration of an application with Shared Services

I just use HfmCopyApplication.exe to migrate an application to a production environment in a newly installed test environment. However, when I opened in the client system 9 HFM in the test environment and try to 'Open the Application', I can see the new app in the list (so I know that the migration is successful), but I get a message saying "+ this application is not registered with Hyperion Shared Services. Please contact your administrator. + »

Anyone can get an idea? I do not know how to save an application that has been migrated to another environment, and I am reluctant to create a new application of the same name, because I don't want to accidentally wipe who moved just above. I looked in the documentation of the HfmCopyApplication, but it says I need to register the application migrated with Shared Services... He didn't tell me how.

    Thank you.

    Hello
Open the workspace - navigate - administer - Application classic Administration - Administration of peacebuilding.
In the browser view open tasks - Administration of Consolidation - Application registry, select Cluster and select your new application.
Then go to the SS and the provision of the users.

Have you converted essbase in native security mode for the security of the shared services.
In environmental assessment, right-click Security and select "Externalize users.

  • "Assign access control" on essbase applications through shared services

    Hi Experts,

I just install an Essbase 11.1.2.4 environment, where I could see that the ability to assign filters to users in environmental assessments is disabled (I guess maybe it's that this version does not support the autonomous concept).

So I thought of attribution of the filters to users through shared services groups\Essbaseinstance1\sampleapp Application - access entitlement control, but when I click on "Assign access control", it says in the right pane that the page cannot be displayed.

Any tips?  for your information, I use IE 11.

    Thank you

    Siva

I gather from your question that EAS runs like it enough to be upward, as you did that you have configured the web server again after that the configuration of the Regional service otherwise it will be a communication error.

  • Creating groups on Shared Services.  Any restriction on naming?

    Hello

Is there a limitation on the length of the group names are created in the Native of Shared Services Directory? Only limitation I know is 80 characters, but I think it applies to Essbase outline dimension members only. If anyone can confirm?

    Thank you
    A

It is available in the docs - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hss_admin/crtgrp.htm

"In name, enter a unique group name (maximum 256 characters)."

  • Error creating New flex data services project

    Hello
Error: Invalid server root. Flex - config.XML or company flex - services.xml must exist in the WEB-INF/flex folder in the root of the server.

Try to create flex project with Weblogic8.1 as the server j2ee services data, but am getting the error above in the screen where I point to the root of the server.
    I deploy flex on weblogic.

    I'd appreciate any help.
    Thank you

    Sun

    Hello

The root of the server must be the parent of the WEB - INF folder. So, in your case, I think that the root server must be:

    C:\bea81SP5\user_projects\applications\dcgsaApplication\dcgsAdaptersWeb

Give that a shot and let me know if it works.

  • Creating Application planning question

    Hi all

I uninstalled the planning and the same reinstalled on windows 2003 server and to configure it with success. I created a

Saved in the planning of the web and be able to see the application which I just created the log on screen. But I'm unable to log into the web inorder to create the databases in essbase. Its gives an error otherwise unable to find essbase. Same I restarted the essbase server. Please suggest where I'm wrong. Also, please suggest where I can find the info of the error, I checked the folder logs but that no information. Please advice

    Kind regards
    Stefano

    Hello

Open the configuration utility and go to planning and then edit your data source that is bound to your planning application, make sure that essbase information are correct.

    Jin

What is the difference in the creation of application of planning through EPMA and classic of planning an application in version 11?

    Thank you!

Another key... the planning version you're using will greatly affect your decision whether to use EPMA. I would not recommend EPMA with version 9, but I would recommend it for everything above 11.1.1.1.03.

  • Create an Admin shared services group

It is a small problem that I can't solve.

I can create a Group Admin in SS that will be synchronized in environmental assessments. The issue is users of synchronization of group as the type of user no admin as expected.

Is this normal, I'm trying just to make a provision of the admins by a group instead of each user

I tried to create an aboriginal group and add users in this way with the same results. I see Admin groups, but users are still.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

If you look at the EAS group then it should appear as an administrator, then all users assigned to this group will have administrator privileges.
It displays not each user as administrator just as a user that is the way it works.

  • Installation of shared services, Essbase and planning

    Hello

I use Essbase (64-bit), shared server and Planning + mandatory component of hyperion:
Can I install 32-bit applications planning, Shared services, provider of analytics on the 64 bit (windows 2003 EE) OS

Or does only 64-bit application on 64-bit OS AND 32 bit application on 32 bit OS.

    Concerning
    Kumar

OK, so essbase 64-bit will be on another server in this case you should be fine.
You can install other products on a separate 64-bit computer, you will see no advantage to do it well and you might as well use a 32 bit OS, but if you have only a 64 bit OS, you should be fine.

  • Planning application no no projection in Shared Services 11

    11.1.2.3 version

Last week our planning database got corrupted, do not know how, but it happened.  I went through the steps to recreate and restore the data, however, there is a small problem.  The application is now not showing in Shared Services, therefore, that I can't access SmartView.  Here is what happened.

    1. because I'm a nervous nelly, I first renamed 'PLAN' "PLAN1" via EAS

    2. I then selected "Create Database" planning and had no problems, a new Essbase application and databases have been created.  The new application called 'PLAN' as expected

3 al ' Shared services, now, what emerges are two applications "PLAN1" which is clearly a single essbase application and "PLAN1" which is a planning application.

I can select plane1 as the planning application and can get security charge very well, however, in SmartView, users cannot connect.

How the world make it only show 'PLAN' and get rid of the old "PLAN1" applications.

    Thank you!

Finally, I felt comfortable enough to register the application with Shared Services.  A few seconds, the problem was solved!
