Creation of PDF files for viewing on screen

Hi guys,.

I had a problem recently, when I created a PDF from InDesign. I described the text and created the PDF. He shows a good preview on my Mac, but when I send it to a customer who uses a PC they notice that some letters (eg. 'l') appear in bold. It is not in the original file. I had this problem with Illustrator as well. A round piece that I noticed was that, instead of out at 72 dpi (screen resolution of Mac), I issued to 96 dpi (PC screen resolution). However, which increases the size of the file.

Someone at - it any other suggestions?

Thank you

Describing fonts is your problem. The text loses he is referring to, which is the "artificial intelligence" built into fonts, without referring the information should grow pixel in function where it falls on the grid - making it as simple as possible, that is why it seems more "BOLD" and it is actually more "BOLD".

It is the larger file size for one thing no your vector fonts.

When you create a PDF file, file > EXPORT > InDesign, you can choose a subset of fonts. A subset is usually 100%, which will incorporate only the glyphs used in the document. If you choose 0% it will incorporate all glyphs in the font in the document whether or not you use. This can increase the final size of the pdf file too (just the 0% option). But leave the text as text without exhibitor will considerably reduce the size of your file.

As already said, the police will be embedded in the PDF, so your customer will be able to view the PDF without any problem, any worthy of their name print vendor must be able to handle a PDF file with embedded fonts.

But the police appear more bold because it is actually more daring when indicated. And some characters may lose their natural shape due to the exhibitor.

It is perfectly fine to vector fonts if you have no other choice, license restrictions sometimes do not allow the built-in fonts, for example. Other occasions would be the instance of creativity with a piece of text where you want to lengthen a tail of a letter or something for artistic purposes.

But for the general text, there is no need to expose.

How to download a PDF file to view it full screen in Adobe Acrobat Reader 11?

On my Windows 7 computer using IE 11, I can do first passage in full screen on the page with the download link.

    See http://www.davispicturesandpoems.co.UK/pictures/9627909.html

Then I click on the download link. When the PDF downloads in a new window using CTRL + L. The images in the PDF file now display without no title bar - like I need (this can be displayed by moving the slider to the top of the screen).

My problem is that when I tried this on the computer of my daughter who also use IE 11 and Windows 7, the title bar was always available (I don't know which version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, she installed).

Is what I do make sense?

And why two computers behave differently?

    Help appreciated.

    Hi davwilli,

I can see in the screenshot above, you open the PDF in internet explore and not in the Adobe Reader software.

So, I would recommend you right click on the download link on the Web page you have above comment and choose the option "save target under" and then once the pdf file is downloaded and saved on your system, you can open it in Adobe Reader and then use the option full screen.

    Kind regards

    Hello

Please provide us with more specific information on the issue. Your post is a bit confusing.

If you need to open the PDF files, you will need to install a PDF reader.

If you try to print in PDF format, you must install Adobe Reader.

    Hi manojp35249311,

Acrobat 7 is not compatible with Windows 7, so it's difficult to judge how the application on an incompatible environment will behave.

Please attach a screenshot so that we can diagnose the problem correctly.

  • How to optimize PDF files for mobile phones?

I am wanting to offer a white paper downloadable report on mobile devices, but do not know how to optimize PDF files so that they:

    1. download quickly

    2 are easy to navigate

3 display correctly without having to enlarge and scroll left and right

I know it's doable because my HTC Desire came with a few classic, easily installed PDF eBooks on it. Stories like "Dracula" and a "Tale of Two Cities' etc.

    Any help would be appreciated

Dave has mentioned very good points to optimize the PDF for mobile devices. Its very easy to do using Acrobat. You can read more here: (I don't know the version that you are, then I'll try to include links for Acrobat 9 and X)

Optimizing PDF (learn how to reduce the size, remove embedding fonts, delete unnecessary data, etc.)

In addition to this, here are my recommendations:

    Conversion process:

To create smaller PDF, I'd say this plan from the beginning. As Dave mentioned - the smaller size PDF, you can select this joboption in the conversion dialog box (if you have the original word etc.which document that you create a PDF from). This will automatically make maximum part of the work for you. So, try to keep the smaller size since the beginning of the PDF creation will not give you a lot of trouble later.

    Images:

You can also create some small thumnails of images and insert them into the original document before conversion. not resize in the document because it still contains the size of the original. Try to compress or resize them outside the document and then finally insert.

For example: If the image is 640 x 480 and you want only 50 x 50 in the PDF document. Try to resize using some applications like Adobe Photoshop or MS Office Manager pictures (comes in suite MS Office) or a lot of apps available for free online. then, finally, insert them into the document. If you resize them in the document itself, they will always be containing the size of the original.

Alongside this, try downsampling images at 72 dpi (using optimization PDF Acrobat) and use images poster rather than the videos. These images can having links pointed out the videos on the website.

    PDF size:

Try to keep the size PDF between 1-2 MBs.

  • How to prevent the creation of 15000 files for 300 MB each day Firefox

Firefox creates files of 'file' in C:\Users\LeRicain\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\dnm04rk5.default\cache2
There are about 10,000 and 20,000 files I have to remove to get about 300 MB of space each day

How to prevent the creation of these files in Firefox

Here are the files from cache. Basically, it takes Web sites that access you a lot and records bits of them so they'll load faster the next time you visit them. FOR EXAMPLE if you visit Google.com much, Firefox will save some elements of this page in the cache so that the next time visit you Google.com, it will not have to re - download.

  • Missing fonts on the creation of PDF files, search a font not giving a 'Change' option

I have a page layout InDesign (urgent work for the necessary client print job later today... of course), which consists of a mix of PDF individual (place) and images, etc.

When I try and print or output to a PDF file, I get an error about missing fonts.  I will search for a police and shows the connection of 14 missing fonts, it does NOT give me the option to "change everything, or change/find," as they are grey.

How this can be solved?  I need my output

Find the police should tell you the PDF is supposed to get the missing font. Dollars to Donuts that it is not embedded in the PDF file (open the PDF in Acrobat and check the tab fonts document properties).

  • [Windows8] An UPDATE Manager grayed out, Adobe CS6 help button will be not to download any .pdfs help for viewing offline. Is low server now?

VERY frustrated here. In the past, my use of the Adobe software was increased CONSIDERABLY by the availability of assistance in offline mode. It was can be found, hotlinked, independently operated, was well organized and VERY useful. I was able to solve problems more myself and teach me how to use the new tools. I hear now we just get a .pdf file. We need the old aid system in return. You can simply take content in .pdfs and cut and paste to the old style program. But here's the beef I have today:

Just installed CS6 Production Premium on a machine of Win8. Sometimes I have to edit in areas without internet. This means that I sometimes have to access offline help. I have pressing F1 and adobe help manager says "awaiting download. I connect to the net after a reboot and load the adobe help Manager. I select the products I want help for (all) offline, I select "notify me when updates to help are available," it says waiting for download on all products. The UPDATING box does not work (in gray), I've hit, and I don't see any download from (confirmed by watching the activity on the resource monitor network traffic and disk). So I close adobe help Manager and reopen it. Now, it says 'Not available' and once again the UPDATE is grayed out. Well, I don't have any help files, then it would be REALLY great if the Adobe help Manager could do his job and download them. My guess is that Adobe has a server down which communicates with Adobe help Bishop and deploys client files Adobe help Mgr. It is a basic feature and really needs fixing.

It's a good thing that I know enough about Premiere Pro to teach a class about it (making a documentary, and you can teach class too), but I still have much to learn about audition, prelude, speedgrade, etc.. I need F1 help feature in all programs of CS6. Online help is good in theory, but some of us edit in areas without net access.

So specifically, what should I do to activate Adobe help Archbishop over the phone to an adobe server and download the last .pdfs help? Yes, it is possible for me to find a .pdf file and download it manually, but that COMPLETELY defeats the goal of Adobe help Bishop what can do to make Bishop to help Adobe do planned to use? Adobe: Can you check to make sure that your servers that help Bishop communicates with are still operational? Mega thanks to anyone who helps solve this problem. I'm guessing that I'm not the only guy with this problem.

I'm really sorry that you are having problems. I asked the relevant team to address this issue.

From now on, the best way is to download the CS6 help PDF from the Web. You can then configure your product to open the help PDF downloaded when you select the menu help/press F1 by following the steps described in this article.

  • Processing of PDF files for the press (indesign)

I was asked to produce a solo of the brochure, but I'm not sure what to do with a PDF (ad) file before you import it into indesign. I need to convert the PDF to CMYK or Indesign does that for me? Is it everything that I need to watch before you import it into indesign?

Any help would be much appreciated!

If I read the post properly, you want to make sure that a PDF being placed in indesign as an ad/graph will be suitable for printing purposes? This is generally known as preflight (as a checklist in advance for a pilot about to fly a plane).

your best bet will first consult the PDF file in adobe acrobat professional. Open the PDF in acrobat pro and go to the ADVANCED menu / preflight. (assuming that the brochure is printed four-color [CMYK]) go into the prepress of the dialog box dialog box and the option "offset leaves CMYK" should be. then click on analyze.

If all goes well no error will be silent... but we will cross that bridge if we.
