  • Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 PCI SB0220 - undetected

I have a Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 PCI Sound Card (model SB0220) who has always worked in Windows XP.  I bought a new desktop computer with Windows 7 and when I installed this card, the Manager of devices (under other devices) had yellow exclamation points for multimedia and peripheral of entry PCI Audio Controller.  When I tried to install the original CD software my PC blue screened on me despite the choice to run in compatibility mode.

After months of waiting, Web site compatibility now reports that his Creative SB0220 card is compatible with Windows 7 and directs you to the Creative site to download a file called SB24_PCDRV_LB_1_04_0090.EXE.  When I run this file, I get the following error message:

"Setup is unable to detect a product that is supported on your system.  Please ensure that your product is properly installed before running this Setup program.  The Setup will exit.

When I took the sound card and rebooted my PC, nothing has been detected in Device Manager.  As soon as I reinstalled it, he appeared in the device again Manager so I know it is detected.

It is better to wait for Microsoft to create the correct drivers or can I buy another sound card?

    Hey Lifeat50,

    Thanks for your post.

The difference in sound quality seems perceptible for me, 16-bit to 24-bit.

I'm a musician for years 20 - ish, and I think it's a reasonable upgrade for your videos.

Here is a site that explains the difference (LOL, in detail):

  • Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 PCI and Vista x 64

I know that this question has been asked before on this formus, but I just added the map its stated in the title of my PC. I have a customized version of the game and its completely up to date except SP2 which I'm downloading. I did some reasearch compatibility and here is a link I found that it is compatible for x 64 and x 32. Click here . So if anyone has any imformation or work around this problem, I'd be delighted to help. Also I don't really need audio drivers comes mainly the game port driver. Thank you.

    still not resolved, everyone?

Yes, 2yzzy solved this problem for more than a year by re activation of your card its Creative DELBERATELTY disabled functions. Creative threatened to sue him if he did not stop to make their product works entirely on Vista when they had worked so hard to make it not work NOT. Microsoft cannot legally make drivers for Creative cards his work since, as Creative VP Pkil O'Shaughnessy abundantly clear in its threat of 2yzzy, these drivers are intellectual property and if Creative decides to deliberately paralyze features in them, it's THEIR business decision to make.

In short, you've screwed when you bought this Creative labs sound card to your Vista machine. They KNOW it does not work well because they did of COURSE, it didn't. Is "compatible" to Vista 32 64 ande? Well that depends on your (or creative) definition of "compatible. Certainly if you put a Creative sound card in a Vista machine a kind of noise going, maybe not the sound you wanted or even his recognizable, but nevertheless solid, that is why it IS "compatible" with Vista.

Fear that you think I jest to this story that has been a revelation around the world on how shady Creative Labs has become, let me provide you with a link that will allow you to explore story after story on this subject. Unfortunately, after a few days and millions lost because of bad PR, Creative editterd the original O'Shaughnessy comments starting from the thread on the forums, but if you look at enough items, you will see some who has saved or cited his EXACT remarks as they first appear.

Success 2yzzy and Creative Labs Sound to paralyze their sound cards for Vista

EDIT: well, it looks like Creative some pilots Daniels conditioned on their Web site. I have not seen that they put those up to the active re 5.1 surround, but you can try here

  • sound card PCI and beats together?

I have a HPE h8 - 01280t with built in beats audio.  I would like to install a Creative Labs pci audio card so that the beat will play in my computer speakers while I can out simultaneous audio pci to another analog (beats in pci, digital output) device.  Can I do this?

I doubt if this is possible. Cause once you install a PCI, the built-in sound is disabled.

    You can't exit at once.

  • Qosmio G20-141 - cannot install modem drivers and sound card

    Hello

I have a Qosmio G20 - 141 laptop series. My recovory all CDs have been damaged and some problems for laptop too.
So I formatted the laptop and I have configured with the new Windows XP sp2.
After the installation of the operating system, I can not install the sound card and Modem drivers.
Even if I downloaded these drivers from the Toshiba site and installed, still it does not correctly.

Please help me and your advice and your suggentions greately appreciated and thanks in advance

Hi first of all, I recommend an update of Windows XP to the last State.
All available patches and patches must be installed.

In addition, the Qosmio G20-141 belongs to the series of PQG21E and you must choose the serial number from the Toshiba driver download form.

The European driver Toshiba page provides different drivers for XP MCE and many QFE for Win XP Pro.

In addition, you will find an installation instructions txt file that gives the proper installation order. This command is necessary and you should follow this statement!

    Then, everything should work ok.

  • Im trying to move to the bottom of my card creative sound in a different PCI on my m7680y slot

But unles its on the second location, where it was initially, it will not produce sound and he asks where is the 'pfmond.sys '.

I tried to download the drivers and install them, but they have nothing. So I put the card in my second slot and everyhtings back to normal. But Ill have to Colocation of the second location the 9800gtx, that I intend to purchase.

I'm doing something wrong? I'm not exaclty uninstall the card as per the instructions on the tourtrial of material withdrawal indicated on this site because I thought it is the same card, why would I need to?

RJ, here is a link to the "characteristics of the motherboard" for your computer:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00748726

I suggest that you clear the CMOS (prn. C Moss).  At the bottom of the page in the link above, you'll find instructions to do so.  CMOS stores the BIOS settings.  It may be that he always sees your sound card in the same dwelling.  Also, I would like to completely uninstall the software and drivers for the card.  Move the map.  Then, reinstall the software and the drivers for the card.  This may solve your problem.

    Let us know.

  • Add a PCI sound card to the 8700SE XPS?

I joined this forum to ask this question. I've been recording and intend to buy a Dell XPS 8700 Special Edition (32GB, w/4th gen i7) for a while. It would be used for general things, and although I am not a gamer and don't need incredible graphics (just good enough for Netflix streaming), I am a music producer and that you use a professional quality with this computer PCI sound card. I'm confused by comments, I read on this machine, saying that there can be no extension for a sound card. It's the truth? Could not add my M - Audio 2496 card PCI or other PCI card professional superior quality to that if I had to do?

    lrs999,

Job mode page 14 says that the 24 slot is "PCI-Express x 1 Card Slot. That means cable for x 1:
    FTP://FTP.Dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/esuprt_xps_desktop/XPS-8700_Owner's%20Manual_en-us.pdf

PDF specifications, page expansion Bus called PCI-Express x 4 because it of the fourth Groove down the PCI-Express x 16 slot and has 64 pins:

    FTP://FTP.Dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/esuprt_xps_desktop/XPS-8700_Reference%20Guide2_en-us.PDF

Any other reference to this slot in x 4 means that it is the fourth Groove down.

    1 x 16 PCI-Express card slot (PCI -EX16_1) first and only 16 x
    2 x 1 PCI-Express card slot (PCI -EX1_1) first x 1
    3 x 1 PCI-Express card slot (PCI -EX1_2) second x 1
    4 x 1 PCI-Express slot x 1 third and fourth slot (PCI -EX1_4) for card

We do not sell the PCIe x 1 Sound Blaster Recon3D on this model. So, in theory, you could add any sound, part 3 PCIe x 1 card.

  • Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 not recognized ZS running Win 7 Ultimate - 64-bit

    Friends,

I have a situation where I ask for a help. It's as follows:

    1. the old desktop that PC is equipped with a device for Creative Sound Blaster USB based - Audigy 2 ZS attached, it was purchased in August 2008 and since then, initially worked with Win XP (32-bit) - August 2008 to Oct 2012, then Oct. 2012 (when I upgraded the operating system to Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit) until last week when I upgraded the PC hardware.

    2. However, after the upgrade, the PC does not recognize this device shows at all - a yellow exclamation mark with a label "unknown device" in Device Manager, when I connect the device to the USB port.

    3. the last time (in 2012) when I upgraded the OS on the old XP PC to Win 7 hardware, the operating system recognizes the device even without installing the drivers (i.e. for Audigy 2 ZS of Creative) and he has been active (usable), as soon as I plugged the same. However, later I applied Win 7 64 bit drivers from the Creative support site. Now, even though I applied the drivers for Win 7 64 bit for the device, it is not recognized under Windows.

At the config of my old PC: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6540, card mother Intel graphics card Nvidia GT 220, some hard drives SATA 2 x 250 GB, 8 GB of RAM.

At the config of my new PC: Intel Core i3 (3rd generation), card mother Gigabyte, graphics card Nvidia GTX 650, SATA 1 x 1 TB hard drives & 1 x 250 GB, 8 GB of RAM.

I understand that this question, referring to the Creative device, should not fall directly under the responsibility of Microsoft, however, I looking for entries from anyone who may have any suggestions or is faced with identical situations / similar. Thanks for the patience to read this long query.

    -Milind

    BossDweebe,

Thanks for the suggestions. The origin of difficulties - the PC also has graphics card Nvidia GTX 650 and as part of the package of drivers for this graphics card, HD Audio driver (Nvidia) also was installing. This HD audio driver not allow Creative Audigy 2 ZS on USB to be recognized as an audio device. So I had to remove the HD from Nvidia audio driver and then install (an update) Creative driver for the device. It worked.

    Thanks for your suggestions.
