Criar maintains hard do nome diferente da QAM. virtual.

Good afternoon pessoal, I have a doubt, gostaria criar o nome maintains hard nome diferente da virtual MÁQ, por exemplo:

EU tenho uma storage, criei um LUN wave Modica meu Banco de Dados, gostaria that maintains hard pit BancoDados.vmdk o nome e nao o nome da virtual MÁQ e colocado por default quando annex essa LUN no meu servidor virtual porque isso, para that EU criar outros servidores possa me connect one essa e LUN has um nome MSDS has taking da LUN that faith criada.

Tenho essa possibility?

Obrigado desde ja,

  • (SNES) How do to paste/brush one model with random angles while maintaining hard edges

Hello! I tried to search around and was halfway to a solution to my problem, I hope someone can help me with the final bit. I make a container to go 3D and had a problem interesting, paint the texture to the rice on top.

    takeout.PNG

    rice_grain.PNG

Above is the 3D model and the second image is the grain of rice, is a set of 4 x 7 pixels! (The UV map is 256 x 256)

To do this, I thought that I would like to define a model of custom and then brush "paint" over the grains of rice with random angles and maybe a little of the size jitter. The problem is photoshop apparently only let's do you it with brushes, not the pencil tool. When I load the Brush preset in the pen, that there is no evidence, only when I use the brush. However since this is supposed to see pixelated contour hard I don't want the edges smooth gradients of a brush, I'm looking to keep the pixelated look, so I would use the pencil tool.

    attempt.PNG

Here is my attempt with the Brush tool, it is not preserve edges hard and for some reason any left white out average as well. Is it possible to have layers, random collage of hard edge of a given model? Please let me know if you know of anyway. Thank you!

4 x 7 pixels is really small! Anyway, with CS6 you must change the script to get rid of color variation. The engineer he planned like that, but few people do. I made a script that you can set the variables for the script of the decoration. In CC, the engineer made a better Interface. Here is my attempt with this pixel size of 4 X 7:

  • Get-hard drives - storage drives data store migrate between data warehouses

    Hi all

Our current storage configuration with specially designed split-role of the bases of data storages (OS, LOG SQL, SQL DATA, APP, Exchange roles, etc.)  I do a storage store on my VMware Infrastructure and hoped to target only the disks of virtual machines that are on any data store and migrate them to another.  Rather new to PowerCli if you're wondering why the bellows of the command does not work and the reports that the file is locked.

    Get-hard drive - data store 'Datastore01 ' | Moving-hard drive - data store Datastore02

If the machine virtual itself is made aware of the command?  Would I have to enumarte the virtual machines on the first data store and then target discs that everyone has and redirect it to the hard disk Move command?

    Thanks in advance

Yes, you are banging in the sequence of commands trying to move a file on the data store without referencing the virtual machine. According to the State of the virtual machine (lit or not) of different things happen

    • VM power off - the disc is moved and the virtual machine is broken (the vmx file will always point to the original location for the HD that is no longer there)
    • Virtual MACHINE power - the disk is locked, so it cannot be moved (the error you have seen)

Another thing to keep in mind is that the configuration of the VM is also on a data store, so if you want to move the entire virtual machine you can just move the hard drives

If all the virtual machines on a data store have all their HDs on this data store then you can do something like

    Get - VM - data store 'Datastore01 ' | Move-VM - data store "Datastore02".

To access the VM configuration, but also his records. If you have virtual machines where the disks into a single virtual machine, then you will have a little more work to do to sort the records that must be moved

    Get - VM - data store 'Datastore01 ' | Get-hard drive | Where-Object {$_.} FileName.Contains ("[Datastore01]")} | Moving-hard drive - data store "Datastore02".

This is all virtual machines with a component (hard drive or configuration) on Datastore1, and then for each VM is all hard disks that are on Datastore01 and the Datastore02

  • How do I restore the hard ESXi RDM file?

Hi all, I have created a file hard RDM using vmkfstools - z and boarded one of the virtual machines. However, I have deleted the virtual machine of the drive and re - create a new virtual machine in esxi.

When I tried to recreate RDM hard, it shows an error:

    vmkfstools - z/vmfs/devices/disks/t10. ATA___TOSHIBA_DT01ACA200______1234ABCD "/ vmfs/volumes/HARDDISK/VM/1234ABCD.vmdk"

Unable to create the virtual disk: the system cannot find the specified file (25).

I noticed there are additional files (: 1,: 2 and: 3) who were not exist when I created first the hard

    T10. ATA___TOSHIBA_DT01ACA200___1234ABCD

    T10. 1234ABCDATA___TOSHIBA_DT01ACA200___: 1

    T10. ATA___TOSHIBA_DT01ACA200___1234ABCD: 2

    T10. ATA___TOSHIBA_DT01ACA200___1234ABCD: 3

So, does anyone know how to recreate for RDM hard to mount on my new virtual machine without losing any data?

    Thank you.

    Welcome to the community,

Take a look at e.g. RDMs SATA drives create how to create the RDM. Also make sure that the destination folder (in which you create the map file) already exists.

The additional "files" that you see in the output of the command ls are partitions on this disk, which were probably created while the ROW was mounted on the virtual machine.

  • Why as many files hard in virtual machine folder? also, I'm under vm workstation 10 can I upgrade to vsphere?

Hi all, I love the product vmware. scalability can not be beat. couple of questions, I have workstation 10.0.3 latest version, it seems that there is not a newer version after that?

my host is a h/d of 1 TB of ram processor 2.2 ghz 8gigs. I think I remember reading somewhere that vsphere requires more? I also a bunch of hard files in two of my virtual machine files is safe is a way to turn what turns off turn it devours space. Thanks for the comments.

    Hi Neil.

Yes, 10.0.3 is the latest version. There is a "Tech Preview", which is a later version if you're feeling adventurous.

Your listing must be ok for vSphere, but this does not mean that it runs natively on this machine, you can try to run in my computer instead.

Many VMDK files is probably because you choose to make them in 2GB increments when you created your virtual machine, you can also choose to have a large single VMDK file. It shouldn't have a big impact on performance.

  • vSphere Esxi 4.1 - reconnected hard drive data lost

    Hello

I have ESXI 4.1 running on a HP Proliant managed by Vsphere

the virtual machine is a simple Windows Server 2008 R2 Std

It runs on a data store that is a hard drive of 250 GB on the proliant

I have a 1 TB drive also which I use as the drive data and this is added as a second drive.

This allows me to disconnect the 1 TB drive. run and export the VM stop and save effectively just the virtual machine

data on the 1 TB drive, that I Windows backup on a daily schedule.

I run this procedure to stop the virtual machine

disconnect the 2 disk which is the 1 TB data store

    running the export

and then reconnect the hard drive 2 and restarting the virtual machine

It worked great until last night.

When I restored the data store, it has restored about dated February 2, 2013.

I can't understand what has happened and really need help to avoid meeting in this new

Fortunately, I can recover all the data since nightly backups that I ran a backup before you perform the procedure described above.

    I'm mystifed.

Here's what I noticed when you unplug the hard drive 2 last night.

Finally I did this procedure on February 2 and the backup to the top of the virtual machine

After the virtual machine is stopped and exporting, then I went to add the hard drive I could see a dated 2nd February

the thing is that I assumed it meant the date that his latest creation so don't think too much about. The data store is all most of the 1 TB drive so it's not like him both of them can store on disk. There are only two files vmdk files and that's what I expected to see.

I started everything and checked to make sure that faulty data was available and it went well, Windows Server

I didn't check the dates, but once the staff came this morning it began to be clear that nothing happened 2nd feb existed and actually I had added 2 disc hard back from this date.

I have two questions that I can't answer

1 where the hell is the data store frrom last night before disconnection? I just unplugged and not clicked the option to remove data.

2 how a store of data of 1 TB of 2nd Feb suddnely may not appear in its place.

If anyone can help solve me this problem I would really appreciate it.

There are no snapshots more listed in the Snapshot Manager

Although most of the time it's ok, not necessarily count on it (it's just a text file that contains the information of snapshot). Always check the settings of the virtual machine to verify that the virtual disk has no snapshot name (i.e... - 00000 x hard). The time shown for the files, is at once when the file descriptor hard (virtual disks consist of two files hard, a header/descriptor and a data file, but only the time stamp and the name of the header file and the size of the data file is displayed in the data store Explorer) has been changed, so it's ok if it shows when you run the consolidation.

attached screenshots indicate it of okay now and be safe remove the DISK_1 and add in back without risk of that happening again?

I'm sure DISK_1 point parameters of the virtual machine to the "Windows Server 2008 R2 Std_1.vmdk" and "Windows Server 2008 R2 Std_1 - 000001.vmdk" now obsolete and can be deleted. As previously mentioned, I suggest that you move this file into a new subdirectory and delete later if all goes as planned.

I am passing the VM as a virtual machine type and the path of the disk as a string by the docs.

Any help would be appreciated. Especially if I'm doing something stupid. It is such a simple function.

    I thought as well

The virtual machine can be a VM object or even a string with the name of the virtual machine. The functionality of the object by name (NVOS) will ensure that the hard drive New cmdlet retrieves the virtual computer object. And Yes, the path is a string.

If you assign the hard drive manually, then do a Get-hard drive, you see the same way that you use in your script?

  • Resize hard disks via VPN

I have a requirement to increase the size of the partitions of hard drive on one of my virtual machines, which I intend to do using the stand-alone converter.  This is a site where the machine virtual is the only server on site (SBS 2003), and I was hoping to be able to do this via a VPN connection rather than having to move to the site.  However, I am reconsidering because I feel that it might not work in my situation. It would be even possible to do? Is the process of resizing of the disk inaccessible VM? If so, given that the server is running the VPN software, I would assume that run the disk resizing of the process would be to disconnect my VPN connection.

    then use something like extpart

I used extpart on several production win2003 servers. Works a charm. on c:\ while the OS is running.

Some say that close the disk otherwise Manager that you might have problems, but I've left open without error.

From vSphere client, edit the VM and increase the size of the hard drive.  Inside the guest, open disk management and refresh to see the extra space, then use extpart.

In the virtual machine is live and in production. No interruption of service. Sweet!

It's amazing, it seems not to be very well known. Reference Dell he released in 2003.

  • Expand XP hard drive?

I am running Win/XP on my iMac and have noticed that the icon 'the disk light blue' is the long periods of time every time I try to write a file on the disk. Looking at the stats from hard drive on the XP client, I see that it's a 20 GB drive with only 1.1 GB free. Kind of leads me to believe that the hard drive can be stolen in an attempt to find free blocks. There is only so much rubbish on the drive that can be removed.

My question is - can I stop this virtual guest and allocate more space HDD without losing data already on the virtual drive of 20 GB? Or, is it possible to add a second drive "D" at this prompt?

    Thanks, Jim

Yes... Take a look at: resizing of the ramdisks with step by step Instructions

Or, is it possible to add a second drive "D" at this prompt?

You can add that a second HDD virtual, but with so little space on the C: drive I would opt to expand the size of the virtual hard disk, and then expand the virtual partition which is the C: drive.

  • Remove-disk hard leaves file hard on the data store

    Hello world!

I'm writing a powershell script to remove VHDs from a virtual machine.

I can use Remove - hard drive to detach from the virtual machine, but it seems to leave the VMDK files on the data store.  Is there a way to physically remove the disks too?

    Thank you

    Greg

Red blood cells removed from the virtual machine, you need to use the browser of data store and delete the file-

  • New hard drive fails on Windows Server 2008 VM with LSI Logic SAS SCSI controller

When I try to add a new hard disk to a virtual computer with the cmdlet New-disk hard of a Windows Server 2008 virtual computer, I get the following error:

When assigning a different virtual machine, for example the parallel LSI Logic Controller, it is not a problem at all. When I add additional disks using the VI Client, there also no problem, regardless of the SCSI controller I use.

Someone had this problem as well? Y at - it a known solution?

    Hi rengelen,

I admit that I was pretty murky about when the fix will be available. The thing is that VMware has a policy that employees should not mention liberation time unless we are certain that we can keep his promise of 100%. Hence statemens as 'will be available in a future release.

  • Windows 2003 fails to start after the conversion from a virtual hard disk with vSphere Standalone Converter 4.0.1

    Hello

I've recently updated my host to vSphere 4. I've also upgraded to vSphere Converter 4.0.1. However, when I convert a Microsoft Windows 2003 virtual hard drive in vSphere, the resulting virtual machine does not start. He gets just after the BIOS screen, then turns black with only a white line in the upper left corner of the console.

I tried the hot and cold conversions. I tried changing the different settings of default conversion. I tried to remove the source machine and recreate.

It worked well under ESX3.5, so I wonder what I'm doing wrong on vSphere.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thank you.

In v4 disk are in SCSI format only.

Probably also the source was in the SCSI format... so v7 to the IDE format give you not configured in the bootloader of the disks.

  • Increased size of the hard drive but Windows C drive still shows smaller

I am trying to increase the size of the hard drive of my Windows XP virtual machine. I followed the instructions in the help to increase the size (rather than a second hard drive which suggested the FAQ I read later). My MAC finder shows a drop of water in my space of hard drive together, but the Windows C drive still shows the same amount as it had before starting the process. How can I get Windows to recognize the hard drive is bigger than it used to be? Will not install the program I am trying to load because of limited space.

Have you seen resizing virtual disks with step by step Instructions?

    Hello

I have a few questions related to the hard drive on a virtual machine.

    1. is it possible to create multiple hard drive partitions (virtual hard disk, we can add, modify the virtual machine settings) that we have in our PC? In the case the ESX Server and Workstation?

    2. in WMware Workstation by clicking on change settings for virtual machine, I've added an extra IDE drive and allocated 1 GB of space, so now I have two hard drives. I said my virtual machine (Windows XP is the guest operating system), I expected to see the additional drive as "D:", but it was not! What stage is omitted by me?

    Thanks to AdvanceSalahuddin

    1. Yes.  Treat your virtual machine exactly as you would with a physical.

    2. yet once, as you would in a physical installation.  When you add a hard drive, you must go in disk management, select the new drive, create a partition on it and format the partition.
