• How can I REMOVE an update installed without permission?

  FF, updated even though I had ticked the box that says 'never check updates.' I had version 17, now I'm on version 18. This update is not yet listed in the history of the update, but now Hulu does not work and I get a message that says that my Flash drive needs to be updated.   • Julesb100 seems to be using Shockwave Flash 10.2 r159 which is not specifically referred to in the notice, but I guess that is old and not secure.

  Comment a lot of Firefox Windows problems concerns the protected mode introduced in Flash 11.3. A solution is to manually disable the protected mode, then you can find more recent versions of the work of FlashPlayer

  I do not use Windows at the present time. Not sure if Firefox did not update a option now. Personally I would not downgrade to version 17 it is not secure and does not have the latest patches. If you wish to make in order to follow the link in this article. Install an older version of Firefox

  Not sure if this will help. My computer is Alienware Aurora R4 and I just updated all my my drivers and after doing the Intel chipset drivers he did not appear in my Windows update more.

• "Microsoft Update" critical updates will not be installed.

  I use Windows XP with all updates installed.

  I recently installed Nero Suite 10. Now when I go to Microsoft "Update" I find 5 'Critical' updates for Net Framework. I tried to install these about 5 times without success. In addition, I now have an icon on my task bar showing these same 5 "Updates" are ready to install. Same story. Although I have tried again and again, they say that the installation was successful, but the icon remains and the updates are NOT installed.

  3. are you able to install all other updates on the computer?

  4. do you have security software installed on the computer?

• Updated repeatedly offered KB2686509 for Windows XP but it fails to install without any error/message code. Ideas?

  The analysis of windows update says that no critical updates are available.  However, Secunia scan says my Windows is vulernable because the security KB2686509 patch is not installed.  My tool bar constantly shows the yellow shield indicating that an update is available. When I click it, it initializes successfully but gives a message that KB2686509 has failed to install.  There is no other error code of the message on the nature of the problem.

  You experience this behavior because you use the installer online, download and install Flash Player silently in background, but requires also the user to provide the option to update.  Setup Online is not intended for the distribution of the company.  Distribute Flash Player within your organization, you will need Flash Player (usually free) licenses for distribution.  Apply for a license, go to Adobe Flash Player Distribution. Adobe and complete and submit the form.  After application, you will receive an email with a link to download installers for the distribution of the company.  This includes installers .app both .pkg you can use.  None of these prompts to update the options during installation in silent mode.

  I apologize for not noticing this before, however, I assume that you did not use the installer online since you were distributing Flash Player within your organization.

  Recently, I noticed I have a few plugins installed in my Firefox I didn't even know I had. I remember accepting MS Silverlight and Adobe Flash, but I do not always say Yes at the update of Google and the two versions plugins Ubisofts Uplay. One that I now have disableled and made me write this complaint. I guess that these got plugins installed in Firefox when I installed the related programs. But I never warned that this situation occurs. I didn't even know I had the first plugin installed Uplay who had a big security hole. Who is now disabled by defalt on your side.   My question is why some plugins installed without Firefox notifies the user that it has been changed? In my opinion a browser should not make changes without notification to the end-user, and Firefox should not trust that other programs to do this.

  A small related question is why there is no good way to remove a plugin it completely from firefox? Why is there no button I can click that it clears as if it were on addons. I don't want to risk plugins activate again when updates to firefox, or I have reinstall. When your support suggestion will have to manually change the registry then it is clearly not good enough.

• Windows 7 programs and features shows no updates installed...

  My cousin's computer will not show installed updates.  There was a program called SuperOptimizer (malware) installed and I got rid of that and another program incorrect.  I need to see the updates installed, so that I can get rid of the notification of Windows annoying 10.  How the updates installed to reappear?

  The system was scanned and cleaned by Malwarebytes, Bitdefender (I got rid of Microsoft Security Essentials) and the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool.  There must be a way of making appear back without reloading Windows. If anyone has any ideas, your contribution is greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
