Crystal Report 8.5 on 64 bit win7/windows 2008 system

Crystal Report 8.5 on 64 bit win7/windows 2008 system

My app is a vb app and I am using Crystal report 8.5. It works fine on the 32-bit system and 64-bit Windows 2003 server system. When I run the application even on win7 64-bit or the 2008 64 bit, report does not open. I use vb script to access the database. Part of the code written in the script file VB is the following: Dim objrsRecordSet 'As RecordSet Dim strSQL' As String ' * database connection opened using the parameters passed to the show main Set dbConnection = CreateObject ("ADODB.") DbConnection.ConnectionString Connection") ="Provider = SQLOLEDB; Server ="& mstrServer &" UID ="& mstrUserName _ &"; pwd ="& mstrPassword &" database ="& mstrDatabase &"; "dbConnection.Open dbConnection.CommandTimeout = 200 dbConnection.Properties ("Enable Fastload"). Value = True

Please help me with this question if someone knows the solution

I installed 6i forms and reports (6.0.8.26.0) on a 64 bit windows 2008 Server. Everything works well except one thing: a form to a preview report or output screen, using Run_Report or Run_Report_Object. The two commands start successful reports database engine. The reports database engine also makes a good connection to the Oracle 11.1.0.7 database. The only thing that is not the case, run the report. In the pane, see the journal of the background reports engine, nothing appears, so the engine is not running only one thing.

  • Application pools and CF9 64-bit and Windows 2008 R2 64-bit

    Hi all.

    Since about 3 months ago, I got CF9 64-bit running successfully on a Windows 2008 R2 64-bit, and 64-bit PHP server.

It was a few days get it all working happily together, but it's an entirely different discussion, I'm happy to help if someone at - it need help.

My question is for someone with some experience and understanding of the relationship between IIS 7, Cold Fusion and Application Pools.

We have 8 GB of RAM on a 3.2 GHz dual processor box.  And on this particular server, we have about 350 sites of cold fusion.  All sites of very low traffic, I should add.  Like maybe on average 1000 page clicks each day.  In any case these sites ran flawlessly on 2 GB of RAM box with two 1 GHz processors.  And honestly, it ran more surely than it does now.

What role the Application Pools in an environment dedicated to Cold Fusion?

Because only one instance of JRun is already launched, SEE crashes when requests overwhelms the box and it blocks.  So, kind of defeated the purpose of the independent application in my opinion Pools.

During my installation and transfer of these sites, I gave them each their own independent Application Pool, which are now individual instances of IIS worker process, each using about 10 MB of RAM.  Thus, for example, if the interaction that happens with 200 websites that they eat up to 2 GB of RAM, which, although not large, is very well now.  The problem is that I intend to leave this machine reach 500 sites before adding another box, but I worry about the performance.

    FUNDAMENTAL QUESTIONS:

Should cold fusion Pools of independent applications for each web site or all websites can be used under DefaultAppPool?

And what are the advantages and disadvantages of the two options?

Is there a setting I should change who will say active stop w3wp.exe instances if no activity takes place for a certain period of time to release the memory.

    Thanks for any input.

    Rush, the bottom line questions:

Should cold fusion Pools of independent for each web site applications or can

all of these Web sites running under DefaultAppPool?

No, it's not 'need '. They can all run in a pool. It is probably best to split them somehow, so that is something is not bad in a single application pool, at least those of the other application pool still works.

And what are the advantages and disadvantages of the two options?

As you note, each application pool uses a little memory. Not much, but as you note, 200 + it adds up. FWIW, the application pool is also part of the connection between IIS and CF, and there are times where just a recycling application pool (rather than restart CF) can solve a problem.

That said, there certainly are times where CF will be what does not, and it won't matter to the application pools how you have. That's really what you want to focus on: why (if ever) SEE becomes is not responding.

Is there a setting I should change who will say active

instances of w3wp.exe to stop if no activity takes place for a certain

    time to release the memory.

It is the default behavior of the application pools. See the "Advanced settings" for each pool in IIS 7 (or for her properties in IIS 6) for the recycling of various parameters of health protection.

To return to your root cause problem (CF becomes unresponsive), anyway, you say "these sites were without fault on 2 GB of RAM box with two 1 GHz processors.  And honestly he ran more surely than it does now. "So what was 'before '? Not just less memory, I guess. He was also 32-bit instead? Was that an earlier version of the CF? It is useful for you to be more specific.

Again, everything that is wrong is an explanation. It looks like you use the CF Server (not multiserver) mode, until you find in the coldfusion9\runtime\logs (not the coldfusion9\logs)? There may be important information before your plant that explains what is happening.

As for your struggles get CF running on IIS 7, I'm curious: was it the 9.0? If Yes, what 9.0.1 (the free updater, which must be installed today on a download of CF9) which supported for IIS 7. Previously, it was indeed a little manual to make work work. And in fact, it may be that an update to version 9.0.1 could help resolve some problems if your manual configuration efforts could have hurt at all.

Hope some of it is useful.

    Hi elbashkateb,

I suggest you to remove Seagate Crystal Reports from your computer by using the windows cleanup utility. Then download this software again and try to install in clean boot mode.

Download link for the windows Cleanup utility: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/290301

From your computer by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if a background program is interfering with your game or program. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot".

    Steps to clean boot mode:

    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

    2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.
    3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.
    4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.
    5. click on OK.
    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.

Now, try to install the program and check.

Nothing to download from the HP site because they say that all the drivers are supplied with win7. I tried the Networking Wizard, but he fails to see the printer on the network side 32-bit.

Try the following: on the 32-bit Windows 7 computer go to start devices and printers, add printer, a local printer, create a Port, Local Port, \\Computername\Printername (use the name of the actual share of the computer and the printer), OK, and then click Windows Update, wait a few minutes for the update to complete, and then select HP (Hewlett-Packard not) then the series PSC 2200.

  • How can ODBC 64-bit on Windows 2008R2 - I tell if it's 32-bit or 64-bit

Hi, how do I know if the SQL Native client uses a connection to ODBC 64-bit?

I think I installed SQL Natvie 64-bit Client to connect to our SQL Server 2005 SP2 DB external and I can see the shortcut in the Data Source (ODBC) in administrative tools is pointing to "system32\odbcad32.exe".  I noticed an article on the use of a 32-bit ODBC to update manager and that it points to the same executable so I think that it is the 32-bit ODBC and not the 64 bit version?

    How will I know?

    Thank you

It is 64-bit. Windows 2008 R2 is 64-bit, so the shortcut you see points to ODBC 64-bit. The ODBC 32-bit exe is located under the SYSWOW file on your server windows 2008 R2 (C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe). To vCenter 4.1 you need a 64-bit ODBC connection, so you're on the right track.

  • 64-bit Windows 2008 server host ESX3i

have a special service that is its own LAN being created.  Completely isolated from the rest of our VI3 infrastructure.   The Department has a host of Dell 32 bit and bought a 64-bit host.   They put on 64-bit host Windows 2008 Standard and that you want to install ESX3i on their 32-bit host because it has 16 GB of memory and the 600 GB drive.   They do not want to spend a lot of money, but it takes a business continuity solution.  Their idea is: use the 32-bit host as a host VMware ESX3i and clone the Windows Server 2008 64-bit as a VM on the 32-bit host ESX3i.  They will do it on a regular basis.  However, there is another idea which they are seized - to buy a license to protect Platespin and perform conversion to protect from the physical server 64-bit to host 32-bit ESX3i on a regular basis (am said that this is possible through PlateSpin).

Apart from the possibility of Platespin, the real question is: a 64-bit Windows 2008 host can be cloned as a virtual machine to a 32-bit host ESX3i?  If so, this may be a solution for them.

ESXi can be installed on a x 32 hardware host little but if you need to virtualize x 64 virtual clients, then your material must be x 64 bit compatible.  I'm curious to know if this Platespin product would mask the x 64 requirements that would be cool.  You have to confirm with Platespin sales about your situation before that you want to allow?

If you found this information useful, please consider awarding points to 'Correct' or 'useful '. Thank you!!!

  • Crystal Reports on Win7 (64 bit)?

An application that we use contains the version 8.x of Crystal Reports. We plan to upgrade PC to Win7 (64 bit). Crystal 8.x will work correctly under Win7 (64 bit)?

I have also a few applications with Crystal version 8.x.  I have no problem with Windows 7-32 bit.  64-bit gives me fits now.  The problem is passing the path to the workgroup system Crystal file through the registry so crystal is able to access the database, which is controlled by the permission of the user.  Another application using Crystal 8.x, using ADO to pass recordset to Crystal runs without any problem.  Thus, it seems to depend on your data access method.  Hope it will be useful to you.  Kind regards.

    =====================================================

Updated - I found the answer to move the info to the 8.x Crystal via the registry - entries that would normally be in the HKLM\Software\... Key should be moved to the HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node... Key.  The keys to this location are sent to 32-bit programs that run in the 64-bit environment.  So now, I have no problem.

WARNING: Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using the registry editor or by using another method. These problems may require that you reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk. Best regards Mauro Segala

    Hi Mauro,

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of community of Microsoft.

You did changes to the computer before the show?

Ntdll.dll errors can sometimes mean that a piece of hardware in your computer is faulty.

    How to fix Ntdll.dll errors:

    1. reboot your computer. The ntdll.dll error you receive may be due to a one-time, temporary issue and a simple reboot may solve the problem completely.

2 reinstall the program if the ntdll.dll error only when you use a program.

3 If the software updates or service packs available, install them too. Software programmers may have identified an issue with the program that caused the ntdll.dll error and then issues a patch.
Note: third party software that have been installed on your computer are almost always the cause of errors in ntdll.dll.

Also, check if the problem persists in the boot.
