CS2 to CS5 Upgrade Options

Good afternoon:

I provide COMPUTER services to small businesses in my small town, and one of them uses the versions CS2 Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.  The owner has recently replaced its aging with a new laptop computer laptop, and after installing of its products purchased from CS2, he solicited the activation, which has not discussed here:

Trying to activate photoshop cs2 on a new computer and it fails saying error code 24:24. Any ideas? I followed

I followed the instructions in the link in this forum, and have versions "no activation required.

However, my customer wants to have properly enabled versions of its software, for the obvious benefits and is willing to pay for an update to CS5 (someone else in the Office using CS5, so have them on the same version would be beneficial).

What are the options to upgrade to CS2 to CS5?  It is a single hop (i.e. install CS5 over the existing) or do I need to upgrade progressive-step (CS2 > CS3 > CS4 > CS5)?

Finally, where can I buy CS5?  I ran a quick search of the usual suspects (BestBuy, we have in the city) and the Amazon.  Neither showed the availability of CS5, only creative cloud that my client will simply not use).

My thanks.

Best,
Jeff

Adobe sells only CS6 not CS5. I can't speak for any reputable vendor that sells even CS5.

Here is the link for CS6. It would have sold for full price. I think that the reductions are only for CS5 or CS5.5 update.

No need to install CS2 first before installing the improved CS5.

Just install CS5, enter your serial number CS5 upgrade, and then enter the serial number CS2 as a product calling.

  • A CS2 to CS5 upgrade on a new machine will invalidate the CS2 on the old machine?

Well, I don't understand this forum. I can't tell if my earler question has been posted or if I have to start all over again. Very confusing.

    One more time...

The difficulty to try to post on this. Please forgive any redundacies. Got a new computer. Copied and upgraded to Photoshop CS2 to CS5. I would like to give your old computer to a family member or a friend. They will be able to use the CS2 on the old machine? (an iMac 10.6) or is it the end of the CS2?

    Thank you.

You only have a valid license, which is yours. You can use CS2 on your machine, or CS5 - but you can not legally give CS2 to someone else.

Well, if you can buy if from a fine vender, you just can't buy Adobe.

So if there is something valid, you can register.  Beware of Ebay, a lot of false copies in the United Kingdom.

Once you get product and install registry and see what it accepts s/n

  • Hello.  Can I reinstall CS2 with its upgrade CS5 and Lightroom 3 on my new computer in Windows 10?

Hello.  Can I reinstall CS2 with its upgrade CS5 and Lightroom 3 on my new computer in Windows 10?

You need not install CS2 if your real intention is to install CS5.  You should be able to simply provide the serial number for CS2 as the eligible product when you activate CS5.

    Hi Michael,

Have you tried to install the CS5.5 first? Once you install the product, ask you the previous serial version, and you can then enter the serial number CS2 and that should do the job.

    See you soon,.

  • Install CS5 UPGRADE from cs2 on Windows 8

I just bought a Windows computer running Windows 8, and I want to install it on CS 5. But I CS 5 is an upgrade, so it will not install I did not already have CS2 (my previous version) on the computer, and CS2 installs on Windows 8. What should I do?

I don't have CS2 (my previous version) already on the computer,

You don't need to have installed CS2.

If CS5 upgrade Setup cannot find an eligible earlier version installed then it will prompt you to enter the serial number CS2 instead.

  • How to upgrade from Photoshop CS2 to CS5

I had been using 2 CS since 2005 and if he's still a very good application I've been frustrated by the need to frequently renew activation. Then removed from my system at the beginning of this year (20100 and used another application.) But after trying CS5 on a friends PC I was impressed and decided to buy the upgrade from CS2 to CS5. I want to kow if I have to reinstall CS2 or can clean install CS5 I prefer. ?

If you deleted and that you have not used the cleanup utility then you should be able to put CS5 disc and run it. The software will ask for the serial number CS5 and can detect CS2 and not ask for serial number. If this isn't the case, then you must enter the serial numbers.

  • CS5 - upgrade CS5.5 - changes to the Composition of the paragraph?

    Hello

When I upgraded a while ago of CS2 to CS5, many files I had finished and sent to the printing press has been largely modified when opened in CS5 (orphans and widows were created, generally, the spacing between words in the paragraphs that has changed). Can someone let me know how 'safe' is opening a CS5 file in CS5.5? I expect to have to make very minor changes to a number of files and don't want to have to deal all over again from scratch because of the upgrade.

    Thank you

    Alex

There are huge differences in the text between CS2 and CS5 engines CS5.5 uses the same engine as the CS5, so you should be fine. If you're worried, CS5 export at .idml and open in CS5.5. Which will force all reflux to occur when you open the file rather than waiting until you click in a story.

Please keep in mind that the only way to turn the clock back CS5.5 for CS5 is to export to .idml. The .indd file is not backward compatible.

  • Question about the CS5 upgrade paths

I bought a copy of Creative Suite 2 education for Windows some time ago, but never recorded the CD key in my Adobe account. The program, as far as I know, is never disabled correctly (computer - FRY mounted sudden power aren't fun) and I've never bothered trying to reactivate the program again.

Well, turns out that I will buy Creative Suite 5 soon, and I was wondering if I can use my old license education upgrade to Creative Suite 5 at retail. I watched the tool of upgrade eligibility on this site, and while he said CS2 qualified for an upgrade, it did not mention if the education licenses have been accepted.

I think that I also have an educational copy of Photoshop CS2 that I never used since I was the Creative Suite 2 at the same time. Could I use for detail of the Creative Suite 5 upgrade too?

    Thanks for your help!

Yes you can use it. The upgrade of the suite is much cheaper than the upsell of the individual product. Education versions with full rights to level of detail. You will need the serial number for verification during the installation of CS5. Your timing is pretty good, too.

CS2 is the oldest version that you can upgrade. In case you're interested, Amazon has a great deal on the CS2 to CS5 Design Premium Upgrade: http://amzn.to/eJQziD

  • Question about version of CS5 upgrade

    Hello world

I have Adobe CS3 and want to upgrade to CS5.  I noticed that Staples sell version CS5 upgrade for a decent price.

But it does not specify if it's for CS4 or CS3/CS2.  I contacted them, but they said that they are both the same... but I don't know if I believe them.

Is the version upgrade to CS4 and CS3/CS2 the same thing in retail? (that is, you can enter a serial number CS4, CS3 and CS2 for the same disk or are there separate products for each previous version - i.e. CS4 update is different than a CS3 upgrade?)

I noticed that when you buy Adobe Store or even other sites like Newegg, they are marked as 'CS4 Upgrade' and ' CS3/CS2 Upgrade', but on his single 'Upgrade' Staples and they told me it "working probably for CS3 as well.

Link to the product on the Staples site: http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/cat_sku.asp?webid=885938 & CatIds = & AffixedCode = WW

    Your help is greatly appeciated!

    Thank you!

    J

What product in the suite you upgrade? The price, as you note is different from CS2/CS3 from CS4.

While prices will vary a bit, they will be very close to price all wherever you buy. If there is no indication on the site of the staple food and then go to the Adobe store and check prices here. For example, CS5 Design Premium CS4 is $ 599. For CS3/CS2 to CS5 it is $ 799.

If you see that the price is $ 579, you can be sure it's a CS4 CS5 update. If it's $775, she'll be the CS2/CS3 upgrade.

    CS4 CS5 update won't work for you.

  • How can they take advantage of the Windows 7 upgrade option?

The Windows 7 upgrade Option begins officially today that gives a free copy of W7 with Windows Vista PCs and laptops, and I wanted to know how I can take advantage of this offer when buying on the Toshiba site?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I searched on some pages of Toshiba for some details about this upgrade option and found the same pages published by Luke.

    It should be useful.

    Check it out.

  • Expiration of the Windows 7 upgrade option!

Hi, I bought a Toshiba laptop a few months before Windows 7 came out, making sure he had a Windows 7 upgrade option. I didn't upgrade when W7 came out because there could be problems with a new version - obviously I thought that I would wait to see how it was received. In any case, a friend of mine convinced me the other day that it is much better than Vista and I had to upgrade, but now I thought that there was a time limit on the upgrade option, and it expired on 28 February - last Sunday! I can either spend - I missed the boat. I called the customer service, but all they could do was repeat what the web page - the option has expired so far go.

I'm not at all happy about this because at no time I tells me that there is a limit of time on it. He didn't say it in product information, or outside of the box or what be provided inside the box. I had no idea that I had to do before the end of February for this - if I did I would have done it.

As far as I'm concerned, I paid for Windows 7. The upgrade option came as part of the cost of the laptop without any mention of a deadline. Toshiba can not see it like that, but it's a reasonable person would believe according to the information provided. Did someone else upset about this? I hope posting here will inspire the action without me having to be made to the small claims court. There is no way that this may be eligible under the law of consumption. Imagine a person selling a book token that had a period of 6 months without telling them and without printing anywhere on the token! That may not be legal.

If all goes well, there will be a few of us to exert pressure on this issue.

    Luke.

    Hello

I have ordered the Win7 upgrade kit at the right time and now use Win7 on my Satellite A300.

What I can say is that this forum is nothing but forum users and here you won't find any option just official statement by people like you and me.
Another thing, this downloadable image. As far as I know that something like that can not be downloaded.
What you can do now is to buy the Microsoft installation disc and install the clean version of Win7.

I don't know what model of laptop you have, but all new laptops are supported Win7 and you can find all the important factors, tools and utilities on Toshiba download page.
