CS3: Error "Licensing has stopped working". Upgrade to Mac OS Lion

Hello:

My faithful Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stop working with the update to Lion on my Intel iMac.

Specifically, when I try to launch it now I get "license for this product has stopped working. You cannot use this product at this time. You need to fix the problem... »

I went on this site for advice: http://helpx.Adobe.com/x-productkb/global/error-licensing-stopped-Mac-OS.html

I followed the Solution 1: delete the folder Preferences of FlexNet Publisher

It did not work.

Now I try the Solution 2: run the licensing repair tool

I get to step 5g and type:

sudo python/Volumes/LicenseRecovery\ 11.6.1/LicenseRecovery/LicenseRecoveryLauncher.app

I get my PW.

Then, I always get an error that reads:

File "/ Volumes/LicenseRecovery 11.6.1/LicenseRecovery/LicenseRecoveryLauncher.app ', line 1

SyntaxError: Non-ASCII character "\xfe" in the file/Volumes/LicenseRecovery 11.6.1/LicenseRecovery/LicenseRecoveryLauncher.app on line 1, but no encoding not declared; see http://www.Python.org/PEPs/PEP-0263.html for more information

Can anyone help? Thank you very much!

Just FYI for anyone else who might have this problem:

  • I never had Adobe patch to the continued work to get the error messages like above.
  • In desperation, I just deleted everything that I could find on my computer relating to the APS CS3 and reinstalled using the original disk. Everything works fine now!
