  You should be able to open these files, even with the shipped with photoshop cs4 camera raw plugin.

  (camera raw 5.7 is the new camera raw plug-in for photoshop cs4)

  I recently had a "burp" (it locked up totally and needed a hard restart) on my 2009 imac 24" with SSD.  Subsequently all my Adobe products including PhotoShop CS4 and Acrobat 8 will not load.  I am a retired professional photographer and have no need to upgrade to a cloud version of Photoshop - I've obviously been using CS4, happily, for many years and desperately need access to PS.

• Action written in CS4 does not work properly in items 11 - contexts the 'selective' layer

  I created an action with the help of Adobe Photoshop CS4, and that it works in CS4.  When I save and load the action in 11 elements, there is a problem with the selective color layer.  The selective color layer is revealed in the stack of layers with the message whereas it cannot be edited b/c it was created in the full version of Photoshop. However, the layer itself has no changes in color/inside.

  In Photoshop, the selective color layer makes the photo look pink.  When I run the action in Elements11, selective color layer doing absolutely nothing to the photo.  I don't have the turned eye "on" to display the layer, and it is on the correct merge options & opacity (normal, 100%).

  If I run the action in Photoshop, save the file with all the layers created by the action and reopen the file in 11 elements, THEN the selective color layer shows its correct pink color.  But when I run the action as an autonomous action in Elements11, is not.

  Can anyone offer help as to why this is happening? Is there something special I need to do to make the action work in 11 elements? My understanding is that he must RUN and create the layers correctly, although some of them cannot be changed in Elements11. However, as it is, is not creating them with the appropriate color.

  selective color layer is not supported in PSE11. So any stage to edit would result in the error message saying that the layer can not be displayed.

  My Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 crash on, gives me the message "Adobe Premiere Pro does not." I tried to cut, paste and republication of my clips links, which does not work. I seem to have trouble keep the other projects that are open as well. I have a lot of space on my C drive, as well as the external drive is on. (My recovery disk has only 1.15 GB of 14 GB of free, but I heard that it is normal to be complete).

  I saw on another forum, who said that the problem may also be electricity. I am in China right now so the voltage is different, but the program worked with my laptop and power cord for a while before she started smoking on me. (Also, I tried opening Prime projects just work off the battery voltage and they always crashes.)

  This image is only a little more than 3 megabytes.  It's not quite large for a true CR2 file from your camera - they are normally over 10 megabytes, right?

  The raw file seems to be truncated.  Photoshop does not open, and the free software IrfanView will convert only the upper left quadrant.

  

  Regarding the recovery of the images, at least in part, you may be lucky...  Canon's Raw files contain an embedded JPEG preview image.  It is smaller than the size of the full pixel of the camera and in front in the file.

  Photo Viewer Windows 7 or the free software IrfanView will extract the JPEG embedded all of the image of the figure of the cat of this file.  You may use these tools to extract previews for use.

• Bridge CS4 does not stop

  I had installed on my Windows 7 laptop PSCS4.  I try to install PSCS5, but BRCS4 does not stop.  Installation of CS5 also detects if opened.  The uninstaller detects also is also open.  I disabled the CS4, but BRCS4 is still as open dectected.  I have also shut down several times.  Does always BRCS4.

  A bit of history...

  Recently installed Prime Pro CS4 under vista (running CS3 previously on vista with no problems).
  

  CS4 running within days began to have conflicts between AVCHD and DV when editing in the same timeline - have been recommended to upgrade to Windows 7.  Upgraded to Win 7 32 bit.  It's the line of conduct:

  -After the upgrade from Vista to Win 7 32 bit, got the Win 7 updates;

  -Update the drivers (Driver Robot to detect the required driver updates);

  -Suite CS4 uninstalled and reinstalled;

  -Downloaded CS4 updates...

  Things seem to work fine now except screens of 'play-stop' button (or space bar) in the 'Source' and 'Order' does not work.   Can scroll by moving along the timeline bar, select points etc and output... OK, but the movie will not play in the screen of the source or program.

  Have you checked the WAV, AVI, AVCHD... none will play.

  Closed the premier Pro and first open items on the same machine and it is working fine - can play the same images...

  I've updated all the drivers who seemed to think necessary for the upgrade EXCEPT Intel ICH8 Family Driver Robot... the upgrade has failed and I was not able to locate more drivers up to date on the web... and found a note on my travels that they do not require the upgrade anyway.
