CS5.5 DS1 on new Win7 64 Xeon fails to load any msi VC

Installing from a real CS5.5 DS DVD I get error Code 7 right after that the Setup program shows that she was trying to install Microsoft_VC90_CRT_x86.

I have a brand new factory image HP Xeon Win7 64 E3 1240 16 GB ram SSD C drive and rotation drive normal E.

I've upgraded to the latest Windows updates, but don't have any other software or antivirus etc still installed.!

What I tried:

Google suggest many and varied solutions...

Turned UAC.

Run as administrator.

Copied the contents of the DVD to E and run from there.

Specified installation to the path in the form E (to avoid potential problems of SSD on C)

Tried to load a trial version on the DVD and I tried different language options.

I have successfully run these commands from a high cmd prompt:

Click Start, type sfc/scannow in the search field and press ENTER.

Click Start, type msiexec /unreg in the search field and press ENTER.

Click Start, type msiexec/regserver in the search field and press ENTER.

secedit/configure /cfg %windir%\inf\defltbase.inf/db defltbase.sdb / verbose

Install the Package redistributable Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 (x 86) of

http://download.Microsoft.com/download/1/1/1/1116b75a-9ec3-481a-a3c8-1777b5381140/Vcredist _x86.exe

Uninstalled and reinstalled. net4.5

If I double click on the msi file directly I get a Windows error, i.e.:

This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.

E:\Adobe CS5_5\payloads\Microsoft_VC90_CRT_x86\microsoft_vc90_CRT_x86.msi

and the version of _x64 and all msi VC80 and VC90 files.

I installed a couple of them to another Win7Pro 64 PC successfully

Installed the drive XI ok, but now when I try to install CS5.5 once again, I get the prompt for the Support Advisor - which is no longer supported. Grump.

All I can think is that these msi is not compatible with the Xeon processor? (he reports Architecture: amd64)?

RESOLVED: I installed the trial version of CS6, and then 5.5 installed without problem. (I also used an external USB DVD drive, so not sure who actually sets) but I would say that first.

FYI when CS6 has been uninstalled, I noticed the files VC90_CRT etc. uninstalled as part of the present - it seems are not yet required to run the CS5.5!

Thank you
