CS5.5 | ProRes 4444 - interpret images sees NO Alpha channel

I thought that this problem could have been supported now.

Guess the bug in CS5.5 fixes are little, or not at all

(1) export a sequence to ProRes 4444, then set him straight alpha channel export.

(2) re - import into AE

(3) open interpret footage dialog...

You get REALLY disappointed when discovering that all alpha options were grayed out.

What is this MADNESS going to STOP ProRes!

Can I get one to point the finger Dan this thread?

I am closer to Hamburg that Dan is, anyway. (I'm in Graz).

  • Image resizing loses alpha channel

    If I open a file with an alpha channel .psd and resize it via the size of the Image to a smaller version and then save it again, the alpha channel is no longer detected in the new .psd file. I tried to delete the alpha channel and recreate but it just seems not recognized as having the alpha transparency when I open it in other software (for example, an excerpt on OS X). Can someone test this (Note: I'm using CS5) and tell me if they you encounter the same problem? It is specifically only passes through a resizing using the size of the Image and not by the size of the canvas.

    Ah Ah! I solved it.

    I forgot that if the sum of the image layer contains even a tiny part of the transparency, it will use for transparency rather than the alpha channel information. In this case, due to resizing the background layer must have a transparent pixel slightly somewhere on the edge. Fill the entire layer of bg correctly done.

  • How to add an image to the alpha channels

    I want to add an image in black and white in this layer alpha https://gyazo.com/f3507eaa453f720bf7257ed9f7725404

    But I can't get a picture on it. Any help appreciated.

    1) press A ctrl or cmd - A on a Mac to select the content of your layer or simply select all from the menu bar.

    2 in your layers panel, select your alpha channel and then issue - special paste - paste in Place

    The contents of the layer doesn't have to be black and white as it will be converted to grayscale, but depends on the type of mask you're trying to do.

    Hope that helps

    After a bit of searching on Google, the only Apple application that I could find that will work with these files is color, part of Final Cut Studio abandoned. You have access to the after affects? In my view, what AE will open your IS.

  • Conversion of image sequence Cineon LOG in Apple ProRes 4444 XQ in Media Encoder CS6

    Hello

    I have a sequence of images Cineon LOG I want to convert to Apple ProRes 4444 XQ, but I'm not sure of the procedure.

    I use Adobe Media Encoder CS6 on a Macbook Pro OS 10.11.2 2012.

    Could you please tell me how to on this subject?

    Also, I find that I don't have the ProRes 4444 XQ Preset codec in Media Encoder... Can I download it somewhere?

    Thank you

    Tiya

    The problem is resolved. Here's how:

    I bought ' Glue Tools Cineon / DPX Toolkit for Mac OS X and used it with Apple Compressor 4 on my Macbook Pro (2012) running El Capitan.

    I was able to convert Log Cineon sequences of images in ProRes 4444 XQ QuickTime movies.

    Some things to note:

    • After downloading the Toolkit, you must activate it from the system preferences panel and make sure that you select the correct Conversion settings in the Cineon / DPX icon (bottom of the system preferences panel).
    • Glue Tools also have a trial / demo for you to try Mode.
    • Currently, glue tools Cineon/DPX Toolkit (4.1.2936) supports only compressor 4, but can add features for the Media Encoder and other tools in the future.
    • Use "Import a file" compressor 4 and select the first file of the Cineon or DPX image sequence when you try to get the glue tools to read them. Do not use 'Import Image Sequence'.
    • Once you have written the ProRes 4444 XQ, you may still need to correct color, but Glue Tools has excellent support.

  • Alpha Graphics ProRes 4444 Apple in the first

    Hello

    First of all, sorry for my English.

    I have a big problem in first when I want to include graphs of After Effect.

    I have lower third in AE with alpha channel... Everything works fine. I do not DL because I had some problems in the past, and I prefer working with the export.

    Exports have been in ProRes 4444 with Alpha... I tried with animation codec as well.

    When I put these graphics in first, the result is just mean!

    I tried the same thing in FCPX (I don't like it, but just to try...) and the result is what I expect!

    I don't want to work with the apple software because my workflow is based on the CC... But I need my client happy and for the moment, it was not possible!

    The main video is XDCAM HD 1080i50-422. The computer is a Mac Pro running with a GTX card maverick. Just to say, I tried the same thing in a Macbook Pro last generation and the result is exactly the same...

    You have an idea? I join a screenshot to show what the problem in real time.

    Wait save you my edit on that!

    Kind regards

    FCPX Linear 01.jpg

    PRE Linear 01.jpg

    Hi Mr. Yom,.

    Try to uncheck the "Composite linear color" in the sequence settings.

    I'm not an expert on the science behind this, but it has to do with how Premiere Pro manages the alpha channel, depending on whether it is "Premultiplied" (MAT) or "Straight" (Unmatted). I think that the banding that see you is caused by a layer alpha premultiplied. (You can try to make the alpha channel in a "straight line").

    Otherwise, if a clip has a premultiplied alpha channel, you keep "Composite linear color" enabled in Premiere Pro and change the way it interprets the alpha channel of the clip. Right-click on the clip > edit > interpret footage. Select it "Conform Alpha premultiplication on:" and leave unchecked the box "Premultiplied Alpha".

    Here are the results I got...

    I hope this helps!

  • ProRes 4444 clip causes accidents with windows 7

    I'm on the latest version of download of AE and yesterday working with ProRes 4444 clip I found that dynamic links between the PP and AE was unstable as to be unworkable.

  • Channel alpha and ProRes 4444

    I have a number of files AE I want to visit Media Encoder with their alpha channels using the ProRes 4444 codecs. I can't understand how to make ME give me an alpha channel. If I go to AE, I get the alpha without problem. How can I ME give me an alpha channel? I use ME 2014 on a Mac.

    Hi Remy,

    Choose QuickTime. In the list of formats in the video tab, choose ProRes 4444. Scroll to the 'depth' and choose 32-bit. This will allow you to export with alpha channel.

    Thank you

  • No conservation of alpha channels when using Image Processor Dr.Brown Pro.

    Version: Photoshop CS5

    Platform: PC

    Tool/Script: Dr.Brown Image Pro processor

    Question:

    When you use this tool to save the .psd or .tga as .tga files files, .tga file does not retain the alpha channel...  Which means that the source file has an alpha channel works, but it is not present in the file generated by Image Processor Pro.  I have been by ticking the 'Alpha channel' on the interface of the IPP and tried various permutations of the other settings (I of course fully understand).  I don't know what else to try, so I hope someone here can offer some insight.

    Context:

    I develop a game to a Publisher that requires the .tga file format (must be 32 bits/pixel) for images independently.  I created all the .psd and files later .tga I need, but it turns out that given the amount of image files, I need to resize to reduce the overall size of the game (and the alpha channel must be maintained, in order to facilitate the transparency of the image).  Since there are hundreds of images to perform this task to, I'd really like to avoid do manually, because I left the ~ 1 week before my deadline for the demo and want to focus on other aspects of the game.

    Thanks for reading, any help is greatly appreciated.

    -Va

    Now, I've added an if statement around line 3805 see if it works for you...

    case "tga": {}

    saveOpts.alphaChannels = toBoolean (fsOpts.tgaAlphaChannels);

    If (saveOpts.alphaChannels) {saveOpts.resolution = TargaBitsPerPixels.THIRTYTWO ;}

    saveOpts.rleCompression = toBoolean (fsOpts.tgaRLECompression);

    saveOpts._flatten = true;

    break;

    }

  • Images added to the timeline lost their alpha channel

    Hello

    I use first elements 11.0 and added a few png-imags chronology (in another channel the film imported). Each image has a completely opaque pixels and a part with completely transparent pixels. Initially, he appeared fine exactly as I wanted it. But when I added the fourth table, or so, all transparent pixels in black images.

    Images look exactly the same source. I tried to save their new with Photoshop and Paint.NET. I tried to delete a photo and add it again. I tried the first Elements of closing and opening it again. Somehow, nothing worked.

    I checked him 'interpret' the film - window and there is no check mark in front of 'Ignore Alpha Channel' for one of the images.

    I hope someone here can help me ;-).

    Thank you

    Gordian

    Why workded the first several of PNG, but has stopped working, is a mystery to me. The only thing I can think of would be if the pixel x pixel size of those of PNG is large, there may be a problem of resources, when enough are added to the timeline. What are pixel x pixel size of PNG?

    The film and all the images have a resolution of 1920 x 1080. I use Windows 7 Professional x 64 with 8 GB of RAM on an SSD. All project files are found on my HARD drive (internal).

    In the meantime, it is good that you have the solution to workaround to use PSD with transparency, to get your project done, but I am surprised by the behavior of your exposed PNG. A riddle for me.

    That's what I did: I opened the png files in Photoshop CS 6 and saved once again that the psd files. Then, I used 'Replace the sequences' in Premiere Elements to swap files png to psd files. It did not work, the transparent pixels in fact everything went black.

    I wrote that I had success with a new psd file - not with the images I actually wanted to use.

    I don't really know why, but I had to recreate the images from scratch again once (Fortunately, it wasn't that difficult or time-consuming). I saved them as png again files (because I do not really see any reason why that should not work) and imported. This time it worked as it was supposed to. But I can assure you that the new images had exactly the same as the 'old' pixel data.

    I guess it was some cache error. I said not a part of the story, because I thought it was irrelevant. When I had five of my pictures working properly, I used a png on the source files compressor (I had a backup of them). It compresses a third of the original size - but also replaced the transparent pixels to whites (must have used the wrong settings or so). Premiere Elements noticed the changed files and show them in the project now. I copied the backup files to the wrong files and now the files returned to their original state in Premiere Elements. The problem started when I added the following image to the project.

    I managed to finish the small project as planned, but I still wonder about this strange thing. Thanks for your reply though. How to mark this issue as resolved? That I have to take a "good response" (but then I don't know which one to choose)?

  • ProRes alpha channel?

    Am I missing something?

    When I choose ProsRes as the output me only allows ME to make my AE comps that RGB or Alpha. "RGB + Alpha" is grayed out. What I am doing wrong?

    See you soon!

    Hey Karel,

    You can use ProRes 4444, but in order to get the alpha channel, you must change the settings to 32 bits, while the alpha channel can be included. It is similar to choose RGB + Alpha channels and Millions of colors + bit depth in the QuickTime standard dialog box. Check out the screenshot.

  • ProRes 444 is only way to export (share) titles with alpha channel?

    Is it possible to reduce the size of the files?
