Images added to the timeline lost their alpha channel

Hello

I use first elements 11.0 and added a few png-imags chronology (in another channel the film imported). Each image has a completely opaque pixels and a part with completely transparent pixels. Initially, he appeared fine exactly as I wanted it. But when I added the fourth table, or so, all transparent pixels in black images.

Images look exactly the same source. I tried to save their new with Photoshop and Paint.NET. I tried to delete a photo and add it again. I tried the first Elements of closing and opening it again. Somehow, nothing worked.

I checked him 'interpret' the film - window and there is no check mark in front of 'Ignore Alpha Channel' for one of the images.

I hope someone here can help me ;-).

Thank you

Gordian

Why workded the first several of PNG, but has stopped working, is a mystery to me. The only thing I can think of would be if the pixel x pixel size of those of PNG is large, there may be a problem of resources, when enough are added to the timeline. What are pixel x pixel size of PNG?

The film and all the images have a resolution of 1920 x 1080. I use Windows 7 Professional x 64 with 8 GB of RAM on an SSD. All project files are found on my HARD drive (internal).

In the meantime, it is good that you have the solution to workaround to use PSD with transparency, to get your project done, but I am surprised by the behavior of your exposed PNG. A riddle for me.

That's what I did: I opened the png files in Photoshop CS 6 and saved once again that the psd files. Then, I used 'Replace the sequences' in Premiere Elements to swap files png to psd files. It did not work, the transparent pixels in fact everything went black.

I wrote that I had success with a new psd file - not with the images I actually wanted to use.

I don't really know why, but I had to recreate the images from scratch again once (Fortunately, it wasn't that difficult or time-consuming). I saved them as png again files (because I do not really see any reason why that should not work) and imported. This time it worked as it was supposed to. But I can assure you that the new images had exactly the same as the 'old' pixel data.

I guess it was some cache error. I said not a part of the story, because I thought it was irrelevant. When I had five of my pictures working properly, I used a png on the source files compressor (I had a backup of them). It compresses a third of the original size - but also replaced the transparent pixels to whites (must have used the wrong settings or so). Premiere Elements noticed the changed files and show them in the project now. I copied the backup files to the wrong files and now the files returned to their original state in Premiere Elements. The problem started when I added the following image to the project.

I managed to finish the small project as planned, but I still wonder about this strange thing. Thanks for your reply though. How to mark this issue as resolved? That I have to take a "good response" (but then I don't know which one to choose)?

  • Incorrect scale of images (zoom) when added to the timeline

    Hi all

I have a special problem.  I have a first Elements 10 project when I add images both online images appear "zoomed in" However their properties are 100%.  1080 p video that I add to the timeline also appears to 'Zoom Out' but their properties are 100%.  I guess that I have a wrong setting somewhere but I can't find one that.

Strangely, if I try and edit an old project, the same thing happens?  I already have images in the media files I can add to the timeline OK but if I import the same image from my computer and add the duplicate image newly at the time line is the same... the picture "zoomed" image properties are 100%.  If I add the original image (the one that was already in the media project) to the time line it seems OK.

So in summary... all 'new' imported 'any' project media now adds to the timeline appearing zoomed in?

    Help, please

On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements running? The computer uses an NVIDIA GeForce video/graphics card card?

What are the properties of the video source that you import? And what is the predefined project that you set to match the properties of the media source? Work with the preference default scale to the size of the image on or off? (See Edit Menu/preferences/general).

Once we know the operating system, we will try to define the situation and find a solution to the problem. We could seek to remove the settings/preferences file, as well as uninstall, free ccleaner Cross (regular and register cleaner parts), zoom timeline feature of a Mac version if you are using a Mac computer, etc..

Please consider and provide more details.

    Thank you.

    Hello Tracy,.

It looks like all you need to do is to transform your image so that it is the right size. You can see how to do this here:

  • How can I add clips to the timeline by their timecode? I want to preserve the empty space created wh

I want to add clips to the sequence or the chronology of time code of the element. I have two cameras with synchronized timecode and we turned on and outside all day. I have images of a camera on a track according to the time code and the second camera on the way two according to its timecode. Essentially, I am creating a sequence multicam with breaks because I was shooting all day and could not hold the cameras recording all the time. Is there a way to do this? I have not found anything. I tried to create a multicam sequence, but this function attempts to create a camera angle for each clip I have. I need to restrict it to just two angles.

Let me know if you have any ideas on the issue.

    Thank you

    Drewsers

You can crush just one by one to the CT right.

(click on the display of the time code of your sequence, enter the timecode of the start of your clip in the source monitor, press on [enter], press [.])

-It will overwrite the item from the source monitor to the enabled tracks.

I don't know a feature that automates the clips in a sequence according to their time code, if it does not exist, it would be a good demand.

For Multicam, you first put all CameraA clips on a video track and all clips of CameraB on another track video, just as you explained.

then nest you sequence in another, on the right, click on the "clip" that represents your nested sequence, hit Multicam - activate.

Go to Windows - Multi camera monitor.

so you have an angle for each track in the nested sequence.

I have something for you to try in regards to obtaining your oversized photos 3:2 in a 1920 x 1080 16:9 version for your Premiere Elements project. There is no 'batch' for this unless you create an action in Photoshop and then drop this action on the Actions of

Photoshop Elements 12. We enter these details then if you are interested.

Now with this route "one at a time"...

Open Photoshop Elements 12 to full Editor

    Open your photo

Select the crop tool from the Toolbox

Set the options to crop at the bottom of the full editor working. Type "1920 px" for W: and "1080 px" to H:

Then draw your box of 16:9, you go to the harvest.

Click the green check mark below the harvest to finish the harvest.

Save the Image as a JPEG of high quality.

    You now have a 1920 x 1080 16:9 to take a project from Premiere Elements of 16:9.

I went from 4:3 and 16:9. Your contact information, you give 3:2 and 16:9.

The route described, there is no distortion in the final result.

If pictures can tolerate the same culture, then I can offer details for batch Cropping in Photoshop 12 elements by using a Photoshop action.

Photoshop Elements cannot create an action, but it can use the actions created in Photoshop. I will try to create a batch action in Photoshop CS5.1 Cropping extended later today if necessary.

If 4:3 to 4:3 or 16:9 and 16:9, which is not the case for you, resizing (not the same as cropping) can be done in Photoshop Elements

    a. full Editor, the file Menu/process several files.

    or

    b. organizing elements, Menu/export to files in the new file (s)

Please see, examine and then let us know the result.

    Thank you.

  • Slide the 2nd clip in the timeline removes audio

When I drag a clip in the timeline to a new project, it fits perfectly. When I drag a clip in the timeline in this same project, will move in the video, but no audio signal is included.

I have not had this problem before, thought my videos are from the same camera: Panasonic AVCHD. But I could make a mistake somewhere in the workflow as it is the first major project, I am in train from the passage of Final Cut Pro. I have copied my raw images to an external HD, created a new project and then choose file > import. I pointed out in the record of the raw images and a few seconds, it has imported everything. (In FCP, I'm used to it converting the images into a Quicktime format, but first seems happy to work with AVCHD).

The original film is more than an hour long, so the camera has divided it in 4.29 GB of files. Will all PLAY in the window of project very well, so I know the audio is there, but when I drag them in the timeline, the audio is not allowed to go with her.

I have even a clip exported and it re-imported as a QT file. NO other clips cannot be added to the timeline with their audio intact.

I am grateful for ideas or suggestions!

  • keep an a 1 bit image alpha channel

    Greetings!

I do a lot of pre-press and the restoration work for printing, mostly working with equipment that requires released as a 1 bit image - very fine line work and mechanical tones that will break or cause the moire if printed with dithering.

For this reason, when you work with commercial printers I've out usually images with superior typical resolutions - 1 bit 2400 ppi files, i.e. the same their imagesetter resolution works.

I have a request current a client that involves, at their request, to place images with transparency in Indesign rather than manipulate raster images in Photoshop and just out of the final 1 bit image and placing in Indesign.

So, I was playing with alpha channels to try to find a solution to this. Is there any image format that will support two channels - one for a piece of mono ppi (1 bit) 2400 line drawings and the other for an alpha channel that will be used to hit transparent sections in Indesign after the fact? Is this possible?

I COULD simply threshold - adjust my image to make pseudo-1-bit and then place the file in Indesign. But it's a big waste of space (the file resulting in dozens of times larger) AND it makes it more likely that someone will accidentally mixed the image during the RIP to print, thus defeating the objective of providing a high resolution 1-bit image in the first place.

Please, please, anyone out there have any advice for me?

    Best,

    Sean

    Well, the next day-

I read some more about how little coding works on different file formats. There is no place for the information/alpha channel for transparency on image 1 bit because, well, there is only a single bit, i.e. two States - on (ink) or disable (paper). If the shutdown state is managed like a white by Indesign, or the stop State is managed as paper and is presented in a transparent manner.

So what I really need, is a 2-bit image format. A PNG. While there are four States - on (ink), (off-white) and another way for transparency.

So I have 'threshold' converted by alpha channel and my channel of the image, then to export--> save for Web (inheritance) and selected 4 color PNG. Voila! Perfect bitmap 1-bit with transparency.

Now, if he is a pretty good solution for my printer and their Raster image processor, we get to see!

  • Insert JPG in the timeline

I am a newbie of Pr, but LR expert.  I am trying to learn PR.  I created a calendar with 3 clips.  Then, I inserted a JPG at 0.00 on the timeline. The full image shows on the timeline. In the screen of the PROGRAM shows only a small central part of the JPG image.  This happens with all jpg files, I try.

    What I'm missing here?

Right-click on the jpg file clip in the timeline and in the drop-down menu choose "Set to Frame Size" assuming that your sequence is set correctly for the video image size you wish to work.

  • Titles appear on the timeline, not in reading

I use first elements 13 on a machine Windows 10 running a 4.00 GHz with 16 GB of RAM.

I'm trying to add titles superimposed on a clip. Title of the video track 2 is supposed to remain on the screen the video title Track 3 appears, and the two remain until the end of the clip. There is also a title of intro at the beginning of the video clip 1 way that fades when the clip starts.

The titles on video tracks 2 and 3 do not appear in the reading, before and after rendering. When I try to modify them to make them work, I have sizeable windows on the playback screen who target a cross in the middle of them. I guess I'm supposed to use it to move the frames autour, but what I really want, is to get rid of these and get back to the main display. By clicking on them and pressing on 'Delete' deletes the clip or title associated with them.

The manual says that the titles placed on upper video tracks are supposed to be superimposed on the video clip. This is not the case.

Here is a screenshot that displays the screen with the resizable image / crosshair and the timeline with the video clips and the title.

I feel that the solution to this problem is something simple, but in this case, RTFM has been less successful.

    premiere.JPG

You see the horizontal yellow line which crosses the title element? This line represents opacity. Okay now that the line is pulled all the way down to zero, which makes the clip transparent. Drop it to the top of the item, as it appears on the other elements on your timeline.

  • After the first Placement on the Timeline, video video will not be placed on the Timeline

Recently, I have this problem: if I drag and drop a clip on the timeline of sequence for the first time, the sequence automatically creates all the parameters and the video plays very well. However, when I do a second clip on the timeline (exact same type of images, different plug), the video will not, place the audio will be. Is no question of I open the item in the preview monitor and then try to insert images on the monitor of the sequence, or if I'm simply trying to drag images right on the timeline, the video will not be placed and there is some X out on video, when I try. I had this problem with a few sequences of H264 and I thought it was just the codec - but now I use my DVCPRO HD film and have never had the question before. Any ideas? It's very frustrating!

Is your Source Routing and targeting of the track set correctly?

  • How can you change the length of the timeline in 15 seconds?

I've been long looking and it's maybe a stupid question, but I am helpless. I have a 15 second video in first pro, but the time line will continue until 02:30. I tried everything I could for example change the General settings, but I can't change the timeline during... Is there anyone who knows how is it? And it can easily explain? Thank you in advance!

No matter how "long" the timeline is - you can use the + and - to zoom in and out. What is important is the CLIPS that you have added to the timeline, from the left. If your clips just go to the 15 second mark, you export your video, the exported clip will be only 15 seconds, depending on the media on the timeline - it does not export the "white" areas to the right of the last clip. So, it doesn't matter. You think perhaps to After Effects, where you set the time to the Composition.
