• Yosemite & NEW installation of InDesign CS6 - questions?

  I installed on my 2010 Yosemite MacBook Pro. My boss wants me to buy InDesign CS6 as a new installation. (I've never had any version of InDesign installed on my Mac). I prefer InDesign CC, but he's going for him.

  I've seen a few questions where those who have already installed versions of InDesign CS6 have problems with it after the installation of Yosemite.

  Given that mine would be a NEW installation of InDesign CS6 on a Mac of Yosemite, I wonder if there are any known issues.

  I don't want to buy the software and then have problems.

  (I'm not having problems with already installed versions of Photoshop CS6 and Dreamweaver CS6 and Yosemite).

  The problems are happening with update installs Yosemite. If you did a clean installation, you should be fine. An upgrade? Anything other than a roll of the dice.

  Download the trial version and give it a whirl.

  BTW, you could explain to your boss that CS6 will cost $700. A subscription to InDesign will be $ 20 $par month.

• InDesign CS6 questions!

  Since we have obtained CS6 here at work, we had any other questions. This is not an upgrade, it is a clean install on a new iMac 10.8.5.

  Today begins a new series of questions. InDesign crashes about 2 or 3 times just for fun, then this afternoon when I tried to export a PDF file, I noticed that there is some text missing on my screen. The text boxes were there, but no text was visible. I tried to click inside the text box and select - nothing! I thought that maybe it is just a thing seen so I exported the PDF in any case and the missing text in him also - Gone! I went back to the identity document, selected the text, open, closed box it up - nothing. Then all the sudded when I zoomed in or on a single click (that has happened both ways), as the magic, the text appeared. Now, I can see the text, but I can't select or edit text. One of my boxes of text, I had to redo everything. It is a major pain, see how I just spent the last hours 9 working on a product gatefold brochure 36 x 11 and now I can't change it, but just a part of the text. I checked and without layers are locked and there is nothing on master pages... I don't want to go back and retype all data... It is all the text, the text just random boxes. One of the boxes, the text is just went... There's nothing there.

  I deleted the files of Version 8.0 of my cahses and my prefrences file folder but nothing works.

  I am the Mountain Lion to all my "non-critical work, but I am still under the last Snow Leopard on my main desktop computer, running CS6 Design & Web Premium. I avoided the switch primarily because of the automatic backup feature that Apple placed in ML. I have not found a satisfactory answer anywhere on the web to this fundamental question... is auto-save a problem, like Apple, implements with CS6 and work on images?

  In particular: 1. I regularly work on very large files, 4 GB + size, and I don't wan't the peformance hits associated with constant economy, 2. I make changes to the images, numbers, cropping, color correction, etc., so that I can prove to jpg for clients or myself. More images 'intermediate' and not planned to be saved. I don't want to downsample an image, flatten it in order to create a jpg for evidence and have it replaced the original image in layers, the high resolution by mistake. This happens with photoshop or Adobe don't avoid the auto-save that Apple uses?

  I have all the latest gadgets to iOS and it becomes heavy enough to manage multiple sets of iCloud info, etc without being on ML. I want to make the transition, but at the cost of loss of work, etc. Anyone with experience on ML & CS6 can give me any input on the matter? And this also applies to all other Adobe applications in CS6? I'm constantly doing minor changes and the changes that I usually have "undo" of and want not saved.

  Auto save (information retrieval) save a temporary file that will only be useful if you have an accident.  It does not record in your file.

• Question MultiCam

  Hello, I am using CS6 and trying to multicam.  The problem I have is that each camera I used, produces a lot of small files.

  After watching tutorials on Multicam editing, each lesson had me do when multicam in the project Panel.

  It worked, but when multicam picked up only the first file of each camera.

  Is there a way for the PP to use all the files from each camera?

  Or y at - it a way to make a when the timeline multicam? (where all the smaller files are already joined)

  Or should I find a way to reach all the files of camera individaul into one file before trying to make a when multicam?

  If Yes, what is the best way to reach all the files without a recompression?

  I hope someone understands what I'm talking about here.  My record of cameras for SD cards and a long shoot can have many small files in 60 minutes.

  PP is only picking up the first file, I used a Board under on and is not grabbing the rest of them at when multicam in the project Panel.

  Help!

  Add your clips, sync them, nest this sequence in a click, second to right and activate Multicam.

  I use CS6 for some time. I've updated online and my latest print version is CS4.
  Last week I started to have the trial version alerts when I open all the apps. Help Adobe says no records updated account and try to reinstall CS4 does not work on the DVD.

• CS6 question tools selection

  Having a little trouble with the selection on CS6 tools. It's hard to explain so abit here is a video of the show on Facebook

  Basically, every time I make a selection it's automation in blocks within the area of selection. I don't see it on PS until I Zoom or view the recorded file. When I go back and open the PSD file once again I can see all blocking problems, but cannot find a way to fix it. It is the same with all the selection tools, I'll post some screenshots to demonstrate.

  So far, I have tried tool full resets, remove and re-install PS, tried with several different types of different cameras. I restarted the program and the computer several times and tried a few different settings with it, but I'm completely stumped. Any help would be amazing.

• Connection to mysql Dreamweaver CS6 Question

  I use DW CS6. I have bulit a site for the company that I work for who has a purchase order online who submits to a mysql database. Everything works fine up until recently. We have a creative cloud subscription, so my CS6 automatically updated to new CC DW not too long ago. I'm not affixed to CC, but I'm much more comfortable with the functionality of CS6 see that's what I've learned about. I am self-taught with DW, php and mysql, picking up everything I can find on the internet and on YouTube. I have re-uploaded CS6, but in this transition, I lost all my server settings. All of my settings for MySQL connections under server behaviors have not changed.

  I get an error when I try to make my connection to database.

  (1) there is no server running on the server test.

  2) the test specified for this site server is not mapped with the http://... _mmServerScripts/MMHTTPDB.php URL. Make sure that the URL prefix is the root of the site.

  I have a remote server and the server of test set up in the categories of the site (both are remote connections). When I test the connection it he tells me that he managed.   You mean between MySQLi and PDO? MySQLi looks much more like the origin of mysql. PDO is purely object-oriented, which might be a bit confusing at the beginning for those who have never worked with OO.

  I tried in CS6 and the second icon (a) shows that in the course of the mouse active down, click event, otherwise it's the first icon (f) who always shows. I also tried CC, and rocking it as it should. Looks like something has been adjusted/fixed in the ScriptUI code probably. Unfortunately, I don't think you'll see the new updates for CS6 all even once, then you may need to try a design of different control for your script items in CS6.

  Do you mean to substitute a page master framework have the document page to edit? CTRL + SHIFT + click or Cmd + Shift + click for windows or Mac, respectively.

  I find that when I bring a picture of LR in photoshop and make edits, SOMETIMES when I click on 'SAVE', it will send the PSD retouched to LR in the folder of origin with other not retouched files... and other times it is not... and I don't know where exactly he's going...

  Probably, you have clicked on "save under ' with 'missing' images Normally which will always save the PS file to the folder of the file of the Moose, but only if you have the PS preferences > file management > "Record in which case the Original" checked. • ID CS5.5 or CS6 question Epub

  I have a client who has an IdCS6 file that he turned into an epub. When you do an Id file from scratch and then converting into pub E is one thing, but this User.ID file has a lot of text, and I see a lot of fonts as well which is probably why my ID6 hangs when I try to export to epub.

  I tried to take the original pages and put them in the articles Panel, before exporting. I also tried to copy and paste two pages at a time into a new doc CS6 and create articles. When I export those I get an epub with no crash, I first of all note that when I open the file id6 (audio from a pc, I'm on a mac, I get the missing fonts and find I just ignore.)

  Is there a set way or a procedure to obtain files from ID, that have been made for printing or with many fonts?

  With regard to the export, that I did it with only two copied pages, when I opened in an epub Editor, I see that there are at least 8 fonts and must remove manually to try to keep the fonts down to 1 or two. A way to do before exporting to epub would be nice

  any help to make this right?

  Totally agree. You MUST use paragraph styles and export styles of character to work with EPUB.
